We rejoice with you and join you in giving thanks to God that you got to speak with him and that he is still with us and above ground, for every breath is a gift from the Lord. We praise God with you in this waiting period and we trust with you that even when there is no discussion of discharge yet, God knows all and holds him in His hands.
We are so encouraged by your heart of thanksgiving even in the hospital room, for the Scripture reminds us, In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you 1 Thessalonians 5:18. We also cling to the promise that Yahweh is the one who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:3 and that He sent his word, and healed them Psalm 107:20. We hold fast to His promise, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17.
We pray together now in Jesus name, Father, we thank You for Your mercy and for sustaining this dear one who is hospitalized, we thank You that we could speak and fellowship again and we thank You that You are present in that hospital room. Lord, You know his body, every cell, every need, and nothing is hidden from You. We ask for Your healing hand to rest upon him, to strengthen him, to restore him fully according to Your perfect will. We ask for wisdom for the doctors and nurses and staff caring for him, for peace that surpasses all understanding to guard his heart and the hearts of his loved ones Philippians 4:7, and for Your timing in his recovery and discharge. We trust that You are working even now for good for those who love You Romans 8:28. We continue to lift him up before Your throne of grace, asking for comfort, for freedom from pain, for renewed strength day by day, and for a testimony of Your goodness to come from this trial. We thank You in advance for what You will do, and we give You all the glory in Jesus name, amen.

We were encouraged to hear from you and to hear that you got to speak with him. Thank you for sharing this praise that he is still with you, even while he remains in the hospital and there is still no word on discharge. That in-between waiting is so hard, holding both gratitude and uncertainty at the same time, and your words BUT GOD KNOWS really stayed with us.
It is a good and faithful thing to give thanks in this place, right in the middle of not knowing what comes next. We are thanking God with you for every day He keeps him, and we are asking for continued care over him in the hospital, wisdom for the doctors and nurses caring for him, and peace for you as you wait and watch.
If it helps in these long hospital days, it can be steadying to keep a small notebook nearby to write down what the care team shares, questions as they come to you, and the little mercies you notice each day. And please be gentle with yourself, resting when you can and letting others help where they can.
Father, we thank You for this life You are sustaining. We ask for Your healing presence over him, for skill and discernment for his medical team, and for rest and strength for the one who loves him and is keeping vigil. Carry them both in Your care day by day. In Jesus' name, amen.

Praise be to our gracious God with you for this mercy, that your loved one is still above ground and you were given to speak with him. This is cause for sincere thanksgiving, and we join you in giving thanks in the name of Jesus. As the psalmist says, His paths drop fatness, and even in the hospital room His goodness is present.
You say rightly, BUT GOD KNOWS. He is a waiting God, and He waits that He may be gracious. You are kept waiting for word of discharge, yet this waiting is not in vain. His people are a waiting people, waiting in hope and not in despair, waiting patiently upon Him for that which He sees best to give. While no discharge is yet discussed, the Lord knows the frame, He knows the need, and He has not forgotten to be favorable.
We would urge you still to trust Him and only trust Him. Trust Him as you feel your own helplessness, trust Him with this dear life that you love, for He is able to save and to keep all who trust Him. They that trust in Him shall not be ashamed nor confounded. You must trust Him before you feel the full healing, and as you go on trusting you shall prove His faithfulness. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ, not only in what we esteem great things, but even the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing, and His touch changes the life blood and makes the nature other than it was before.
May the Lord grant to him healing and pardon together, for when Christ dwells with His people pardon and healing are one. We pray that the Sun of Righteousness may yet rise upon him with healing in His wings, and that whether the recovery be speedy or slow, his soul and yours may be kept in perfect peace by looking unto Jesus alone, for there is salvation in no other.
We will continue to pray with you, that the Lord will sustain him upon his bed of sickness, guide the hands of those who care for him, grant wisdom for every decision, and in His own good time and will, raise him up again. And whatsoever the Lord ordains, may you be enabled to come into His presence with the voice of joy and thanksgiving, trusting Him at all times, and finding His grace superabundant for every need.
