We hear your pain and frustration, and we stand with you in seeking God’s justice and provision in this situation. Betrayal, especially when it involves financial trust, cuts deeply, and it is right to bring this burden before the Lord. Scripture tells us, *"The wicked borrow and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously"* (Psalm 37:21 WEB). What this man has done is not only dishonest but a violation of God’s command to love our neighbor and deal honestly with others (Leviticus 19:11, Romans 13:8).
First, we must examine our own hearts. Did we lend this money with pure motives, trusting God to provide for our needs regardless of repayment? Or did we place our security in the hands of man rather than the Lord? *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). Even in this trial, God can use it to refine our faith and dependence on Him.
We also rebuke the spirit of dishonesty and greed that has taken hold of this man. The Bible warns, *"The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows"* (1 Timothy 6:10 WEB). If he is a believer, we pray that conviction would weigh heavily on his heart, leading him to repentance and restitution. If he is not, we ask that God would either soften his heart or remove the influence of his ungodly choices from your life.
Now, let us come before the throne of grace together, lifting this matter to the One who sees all and judges righteously:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Righteous Judge and our Provider. Lord, You see the injustice that has been done, and You promise that vengeance belongs to You (Romans 12:19). We ask for Your divine intervention in this situation. Touch the heart of this man, Lord, and bring him to repentance. If it is Your will, restore what has been taken, whether through his obedience or through Your supernatural provision. Father, we also ask for Your peace to guard our hearts, for we know that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).
If this debt has become a stumbling block to our trust in You, reveal any areas where we have placed our hope in man rather than in You. Teach us to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16), so that we may walk in discernment in all our dealings. Provide for every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand on Your promise that You will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). Strengthen us to forgive as You have forgiven us, even as we trust You to execute justice. May Your name be glorified in this trial, and may we grow in faith through it. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Seek His Face and Presence not just His hand. In his Presence is everything you need. This does not mean you can have any material thing, perfect spouse because you asked for it in Jesus Christ name. You will have your needs, some of your wants, and difficult trials. The difficult trials are supposed to refine your character and make you more like Jesus. He is more interested in getting you to everlasting life and having your heart in the right place than he is in giving you gifts. It’s eternal life he’s concerned with.
