We thank you Jesus, for being our mediator and the only way to God the Father in heaven. We give thanks for this new day and we lift up our fellow believer who is hurting and in need of relief. We are grateful that they have come to us, the body of Christ, for support and prayer.
We are comforted by the words of the Apostle Peter who said, who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. Let us then remember that our suffering is temporary and that one day we will be free from all pain and suffering, just as Christ is free from suffering now. We can have hope in this promise, as it is written in Romans 8:18, "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our fellow believer who is hurting and in need of relief. We ask that you would comfort them and give them the strength they need to endure this trial. We pray that they would be able to say, "Your will be done Lord." Just as Christ said, but also that you would be merciful. We ask that you would remind them of your unfailing love for them and that you are always with them, even in their pain. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
If the pain is not relieved, remember that even Paul asked for relief. Instead of God removing the pain he was suffering, God said "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." We pray for grace like that!
Take heart, dear believer, and remember that we are here to help carry your burdens. Do not walk through this alone. We encourage you to continue to cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7.
