What you are going through sounds exhausting and deeply painful, feeling punished by God, feeling surrounded by enemies even in your own home, and feeling unheard by the very people who should protect you. It is understandable that you feel trapped and overwhelmed when you have to live every day in that tension and cannot see a way out.

It is important to separate two things the Bible talks about. Scripture is clear that the wrath of God is real and will be revealed against persistent ungodliness and the rejection of His truth. That wrath is fierce and final, and it is for those who keep refusing His mercy. But for those who belong to Jesus, the Bible makes a different distinction. God does not deal with His children in wrath. He deals with them as a loving Father who corrects because He loves. Punishment is about paying for sin in judgment. Correction is about love shaping a child to be whole. If you have put your trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, His cross is where the wrath for your sin was poured out. He bore it completely so you would not have to. That does not mean you will not feel consequences or sorrow for past choices, but it does mean God is not pouring His wrath on you now for something you did three years ago.

You mentioned that what you did three years ago still weighs on you, and that you feel God is punishing you badly for it. The Bible says all have sinned, as you noted, and none of us can earn our standing before God by being good enough. Forgiveness is not a reward for good behavior. It is a gift of grace through what Jesus finished on the cross. If that past action was sin, the way forward is honest repentance and faith, turning from it and turning to Christ, trusting that His blood covers it fully. God's mercies do not run out. His compassions do not fail. They are new every morning. Even when He allows grief or correction, He does so with a multitude of mercies and with compassion, not with a desire to crush you. You can come to Him today, confess what is on your conscience, and rest in the assurance that if you are in Christ, you are forgiven and held, not under condemnation.

The family pain you describe is also very real. To have a sister who seems to find satisfaction in provoking you and getting a reaction, who is kind in front of others but harassing in private, and to have parents who do not believe you and treat you as the problem, leaves a deep wound. Being dismissed and not listened to, especially when you are asking for help, is a form of hurt that can make you feel invisible in your own home. It can also make it feel like everyone is against you, even when your heart is raw and alert to every slight. That does not mean your pain is imagined. It means you are living in a broken and painful dynamic that needs wisdom and help.

Jesus understands rejection and verbal and even physical mistreatment from those who should have been closest. He endured hostility and contradiction, yet He did not return evil for evil. Looking to Him as the author and finisher of our faith helps us in two ways. He is the source of the faith we need to keep going, and He is the one who will complete what He has started in us. He also shows us how to walk through mistreatment without being destroyed by it. You do not have to play the game of provocation. When someone seeks a reaction to feel power, choosing calm, quiet boundaries and not returning the same hurt is not weakness. It is strength under God's care. That may mean limiting heated conversations, stepping away when you are being provoked, keeping a simple record of what happens if you need to talk to a trusted counselor or pastor, and seeking a safe, mature believer outside the home who will listen and give wise counsel in person.

You said you cannot escape and do not know what is happening. The feeling of being trapped is common when circumstances press in and every plan to get out seems blocked. In those moments it helps to remember that when you are God's child, there are no mere coincidences and you are not forgotten in that house. God sees where you live and what is done in secret as well as in public. He is able to overrule and provide, even through very hard family circumstances. In the Scriptures, the kinsman redeemer is a picture of one who steps in for a family member who cannot help himself, who pays the price to buy back what was lost and to cover and protect with his own name and strength. Jesus is that redeemer for you. He covers you, He claims you as His own, and He is able to restore what has been broken, even if the restoration looks different than you expect.

Please do not stay isolated with these thoughts. Keep bringing them honestly to God in prayer, stay in the Scriptures daily, and reach out to a trustworthy pastor or biblical counselor who can know you, hear your story fully, and help you with practical steps for safety and for living at peace as far as it depends on you. If you have never clearly trusted Christ alone to save you, tell Him you need His grace and His righteousness, not your own. If you already belong to Him, rest again in that grace today and ask Him to be your strength for this day only. Each morning is a new mercy to meet that day's need.

I am praying that God will show you His compassion anew, lift the weight of false guilt about His wrath, give you wisdom for how to respond in your home, open the eyes of your parents to listen with fairness, and guard your heart from bitterness. May He give you peace that is not dependent on your sister's choices or your family's approval, but on the sure covering of your redeemer, and may He guide you step by step to a healthier and more stable place, as you keep your eyes on Jesus.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and for sharing your heart so openly about feeling that God is punishing you for something from three years ago and about the deep pain in your family. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer during such a difficult and confusing time when you feel that everyone is turning into your enemy and that your whole family is toxic and you cannot escape.

We have continued to lift you before the Lord and we have been praying for you. We have prayed that God would show you His mercy and grace and help you to know that for those who are in Christ there is no condemnation as we read in Rom 8:1 and that if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us as promised in 1 John 1:9. We have prayed that even when your parents and family do not hear you or believe you when you share about the mental harassment and passive aggressive treatment from your sister, you would know that the Lord does hear you and is close to the brokenhearted as in Psalm 34:18 and that He heals the brokenhearted as in Psalm 147:3. We have asked God to protect your mind and heart, to bring peace into your home, to soften hearts in your family, to help you to be heard and understood, and to make a way for you where you see no way. We have also prayed that you will come to know that God is gracious and merciful as in Psalm 103:8 and that His desire is to restore you and not to condemn you without hope.

If your request was answered and you have felt His peace, His forgiveness, or seen change in your situation, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and you still feel overwhelmed by guilt and by the toxicity at home and still feel unheard and harassed, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ. We pray in Jesus Name that you will experience His forgiveness, His presence, His comfort and His protection in a very real way. Amen
