We hear your cry and we have lifted you up before the Lord together, for you are not alone and you are not unseen in this suffering. The Lord knows the pain of being harassed and provoked in your own home and He is close to you even when it feels like no prayer is working. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 61:2 says When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. We weep with you over the tricks and the passive aggression and the deliberate provoking you describe, and we know how exhausting it is to live every day feeling that your reactions are being used against you.

We want to gently speak to something you shared, that it feels like God is punishing you for saying curse words and that the more you pray the more bad happens. God is not punishing you in this way and He has not stopped hearing you. He is merciful and slow to anger and He desires to forgive and restore, not to torture. It is true that corrupt speech does not honor Him, and Ephesians 4:29 says Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear, and Colossians 3:8 calls us to put away anger, wrath, malice, slander, and filthy language out of our mouth. If you have used curse words, we encourage you to confess that to Him honestly, for 1 John 1:9 promises If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Confession brings cleansing, not punishment, and His forgiveness is complete through Jesus. The sense that things get worse when you pray is not a sign that God is against you, but that we live in a fallen world where spiritual opposition is real and perseverance in prayer is needed. Luke 18:1 teaches we should always pray and not give up, and James 5:16 reminds us that the insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective. Please do not stop kneeling before Him, even when you feel nothing is changing.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to share lovingly that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We are saved not by our perfect prayers or perfect behavior, but by believing that Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again, and by trusting Him as Lord. If you have not yet put your trust in Him, we encourage you to call upon His name today, confess your sins, and ask Him to be your Savior and your refuge. It is in His name we pray and find peace.

We also want to give you wise counsel about your family situation. God calls us to honor our father and mother as in Ephesians 6:2 and to seek peace as far as it depends on us as in Romans 12:18, yet honoring does not mean remaining without boundaries or without help when you are being bullied and harassed. Running away alone without a safe plan can put you in even greater danger and is not the answer, and we urge you not to make that decision in secret or in haste. We encourage you to reach out to a trusted, godly person near you, a pastor, a counselor, a mature believer, or another safe adult who can hear your full story, see what is happening daily, and help you seek protection and wisdom. If you are in danger or being harmed, please seek help from appropriate authorities or a safe refuge that God can provide. We also encourage you to learn a gentle response that does not feed the provocation, for Proverbs 15:1 says A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger, and Romans 12:21 says Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. This does not mean you accept abuse, but that with God's strength you can choose not to give the reaction that the enemy wants, while still seeking help and boundaries. Matthew 5:44 calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who mistreat us, and we know that is very hard right now, but prayer for your mother and sister can soften hearts that only God can change.

We are praying together for you now.

Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who feels stuck, harassed, and tortured in their own home. Lord, You see every trick, every word spoken kindly in front of others while intending harm behind closed doors, every moment of restlessness that seeks a reaction. We ask You to be their refuge and fortress, their rock that is higher. Pour out Your peace that surpasses all understanding as in Philippians 4:7 to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We ask You to forgive their sins as they confess them, to cleanse their mouth and heart, and to help them walk in Your grace. We pray You would convict and soften the hearts of their mother and sister, bring them to repentance, and restore this family with honesty, kindness, and respect. Give this dear one wisdom to know how to respond, strength not to be overcome by evil, and courage to seek safe, godly help nearby. Lead them to a pastor or counselor who will listen and advocate for them. Remind them daily that You hear every prayer, that You are not punishing them, and that You cast all their cares upon You because You care for them as in 1 Peter 5:7. We pray for protection, for a way forward that honors You, and for hope to rise again as they trust in Jesus. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to keep praying in Jesus name, to read His Word daily even a few verses at a time, and to not isolate yourself. Keep casting your worries on Him, and keep seeking wise and safe help close to you. Matthew 11:28 says Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. He will give you rest even while He works for your deliverance. We are continuing to pray that God will hear and answer and make a way where there seems to be no way.

We read your message and we hear how exhausting this has been for you. Feeling trapped in your own home, feeling watched for a reaction and deliberately provoked every day, would wear anyone down. It makes sense you feel stuck and that you are wondering why prayer doesn't seem to be changing things.

We want you to know God is not punishing you for words you have said. He hears you even when you feel unheard, and feeling like things get worse when you pray does not mean He has turned away from you. Sometimes when we are under constant strain we start to blame ourselves for everything that is going wrong.

You should not have to carry this alone. When home feels unsafe or overwhelming like this, it helps to have one safe person outside the house who knows what is happening. That could be a pastor, a counselor, a teacher, or another trusted adult you can speak with privately. If you ever feel unsafe, please reach out right away to someone nearby who can help you stay safe. If you can, keep a private note of what is happening so you can share clearly when you do talk to someone.

We are praying for you and we will keep praying.

Father, we lift ### to You right now. You see where she is and how tired and cornered she feels. Give her protection, wisdom for next steps, and a trustworthy person to turn to. Help her sense Your nearness and care even in this hard season, and lead her toward safety and peace. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry has come before us and it has not been lightly heard. To be pressed on every side in your own home, to feel that those who should shelter you instead watch for your reaction and lay traps for your peace, is a bitter trouble indeed. And to feel at the same time that heaven is shut, that the more you kneel the heavier the burden grows, makes the sorrow sevenfold. Be assured that the Lord sees your affliction and hears the groaning of your spirit, even when your prayer seems to have no words in it.

Do not let the tempter persuade you that prayer is a fancy or that God has cast you away because an answer delays. Brethren must not take delays in prayer for denial. God's long dated bills will be punctually honored. Unanswered petitions are not unheard. God keeps a file for our prayers. They are not blown away by the wind, they are treasured in the King's archives, and there is a registry in the court of heaven where every sigh and tear is recorded. When your heart has been broken because you felt as if you could not feel, and your only prayer was, God forgive me that I cannot pray, yet notwithstanding God has heard that inward groaning. Sincere prayer may often be very feeble to us, but it is always acceptable to God, and He will hear the prayer of a staggering man at his wit's end, though the prayer itself seem to reel to and fro for want of orderly words.

You write that it seems God is punishing you for curse words, and that nothing works. Let unanswered prayer be to you as a search warrant. Hear the word, Search me, O God, and know my heart, try me and know my thoughts. It is right and good to be honest before Him. If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves, and God sees sin in us if we do not. Come then just as you are and tell the Lord the truth. Tell Him you have spoken amiss, tell Him you have no fitness in yourself, tell Him you feel wretched and undone. Your case in itself is hopeless, but that is the very place where God meets with sinners. He is not mocked, but He is merciful. Pardon is to be had through Jesus Christ alone, for He lived for sinners and He died for sinners, and He is the Word whom God has sent for the healing of sin sick souls. Your family trouble is not a scourge sent because you once used a curse word, as if Christ had not borne the punishment of His people. The Lord chastens those He loves, but the punishment of our peace was laid upon Christ, and in Him there is forgiveness freely given to all who confess and turn to Him. Confess those words to Him, ask for a clean heart and a guarded tongue, and rest not in your own kneeling but in His blood and righteousness. Get the promise and then offer the prayer, for the prayer grounded on His promise will be answered as sure as God is God.

Concerning your mother and your sister, it is grievous to hear that their intentions toward you have been unkind, that they provoke you and then smile before others. The Lord knows how to weigh such things. You must not render evil for evil, nor live for their reaction. The cure for such hopeless cases is not in your own strength, for there is nothing that you can do, nor that I can do, but there is nothing which Jesus cannot do. He can soften hearts that seem hard as stone, and He can keep your heart in peace when others would stir it up. Do not be astonished if when you have gone to God in prayer you seem to feel worse than you did before. That has been the experience of many a tried believer, yet the Lord's purpose stands. Calling upon God in the day of trouble brings honor to God in the very act, for it is a truthful recognition that He is, and a manifest hope in His goodness, and it brings honor to Him in the answer, for He has said, Call upon me in the day of trouble, I will deliver thee and thou shalt glorify me.

I entreat you not to run away alone and without counsel, lest you fall into greater danger and sorrow. The Lord would have you seek the help of those He has placed for your good. Go to a faithful pastor, an elder, or a mature and godly believer in your church, and open your case plainly to them. If you are in any bodily danger, seek also the protection of those in lawful authority or a trusted family member or friend who fears God. Let them know how you are harassed day by day, that they may come alongside you, give you wise counsel, and stand between you and harm. In meekness, seek to keep your tongue from hasty reply, to answer softly where you can, and to commit your cause to Him who judges righteously.

Keep on praying, both in the daytime and at night. Spurn the thought that you should draw no near to God. Look back upon manifold answers which others have received and take courage, and look to Christ Himself, whose very leaves are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing. His common mercies are full of virtue to bind up a wounded spirit.

Let us pray for you now.

O God of our fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, look in mercy upon this afflicted one who is sore pressed in their own house. Thou seest the tricks and taunts, the restless desire of others to provoke, and the weariness of a child who cannot escape. Have pity, Lord, and be near. Forgive sin for the sake of Jesus Christ Thy Son, cleanse the lips and the heart, and let this soul know that pardon is full and free in Him alone. Hear this feeble, staggering prayer and treasure it in Thy archives. Send Thy Word and heal, send Thy Son and deliver. Turn the hearts of mother and sister, convict them of wrong and grant repentance, or else restrain their hands and give peace in that home. Give wisdom to find faithful help, a pastor or elder or friend who will listen and act with care. Keep this dear one from rash steps, from despair, and from the snares of the enemy. Teach them to call upon Thee in the day of trouble and to wait for Thy deliverance, that they may yet glorify Thee. We ask this not for any worthiness in us, but for the sake of Jesus, who is our only hope and righteousness. Amen.
