Beloved of All
🙌 Father in Heaven, we enter Your gates with thanksgiving, and enter Your Courts with Praise (Ps 100:4). We our family members, those lost and those that are walking with You the same and only hope, Lord, faith, baptism and Father, Eph 4:4-6. Shine in their hearts (and ours) the Light of the Knowledge of the Glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, 2 Cor 4:6. Let The Holy Spirit of wisdom and revelation to know you better be given, so we know the hope of Your calling, and the riches of Christ's inheritance, Eph 1:17-18. Give us spiritual hunger for the "sincere milk of the Word," 1 Peter 2:2, and, "give us our Daily Bread," Matt 6:11. "Open our minds to put the Scriptures together as a puzzle" (συνιέναι; Luke 24:45). Strengthen us to use daily, Chronological and Systematic Bible reading plans, Josh 1:8, Tim 4:13, 2 Tim 2:15.

Help us enjoy our journey, "awakening our ears morning by morning to hear as disciples" (Isaiah 50:4-5), talking with you and each other about what we read, as it is written, "the one who receives instruction in the word must share in all good things with his instructor," Gal 6:6. As always, guard us from distractions, sin and the evil one, Ps 91:11-12, Mt 6:13, Jn 17:15. Help us receive the Word engrafted, (James 1:21, so we may be a doers of the Word, not hearers only, James 1:22. We thank and praise You in advance for granting us wisdom, Col 1:9, favor, Ps 5:12, and protection from temptation and evil, Matt 6:13, evil people and imposters, 2 Tim 3:13, false believers, 2 Cor 11:26, deception, Mt 24:4, and the one who pulls their strings, 1 Jn 5:19, the evil one himself, John 17:15, in the Authority of The Name of Jesus, Jesus The One God and Mediator between God and Man, 1 Tim 2:5. Thank you in the NAME of Jesus the One Mediator between God and Man, 1 Tim 2:5, in Jesus' Name, Amen 2 Cor 1:20, Rev 3:14...

We join you in this beautiful and scripture filled prayer and we say amen to your hunger for God's will and for knowing Him more deeply.

We rejoice with you as you have entered His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise as Psalm 100:4 teaches, Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, and bless his name. We agree with you for your family members, both those who are lost and those who are walking with the Lord, that all would come to the unity of one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all as Ephesians 4:5-6 declares, and that the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ would shine in every heart according to 2 Corinthians 4:6, For God, who said, Light shall shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

We pray together with you now.

Father in Heaven, we thank You and praise You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, our one mediator as 1 Timothy 2:5 says, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. We ask that You fill us with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding as Colossians 1:9 promises. Grant to us and to our loved ones the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You, having the eyes of our hearts enlightened, that we may know the hope of Your calling and the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the saints as Ephesians 1:17-18 teaches. Create in us a deep hunger as newborn babies for the pure milk of the Word that we may grow thereby as 1 Peter 2:2 says, and give us day by day our daily bread as Matthew 6:11 asks. Open our minds that we might understand the Scriptures as Luke 24:45 declares, Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures, and help us to put Your Word together as a perfect puzzle.

Strengthen us to be diligent in daily chronological and systematic reading of Your Word. Help us to meditate on it day and night as Joshua 1:8 commands, This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein, and to give diligence to present ourselves approved to God as workmen who correctly handle the word of truth as 2 Timothy 2:15 teaches. Awaken our ears morning by morning to hear as disciples as Isaiah 50:4 says, and make our journey joyful as we talk with You and with each other about what we read, sharing in all good things as Galatians 6:6 instructs, But let him who is taught in the word share all good things with him who teaches.

We ask You to help us receive with meekness the implanted word which is able to save our souls and to be doers of the word and not hearers only as James 1:21-22 exhorts. Guard us from distractions, from sin, and from the evil one. We claim Your promise in Psalm 91:11-12 that You will give Your angels charge over us, and we pray as Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:13, Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one, and as He prayed in John 17:15, we ask that You keep us from the evil one. Cover us with Your favor as with a shield as Psalm 5:12 says, For you will bless the righteous. Yahweh, you will surround him with favor as with a shield.

We thank You in advance for granting wisdom, favor, and protection from temptation and evil, from evil people and impostors as 2 Timothy 3:13 warns, from false brothers as 2 Corinthians 11:26 mentions, from deception as Matthew 24:4 warns, and from the evil one himself who holds the world in wickedness as 1 John 5:19 says, that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. We ask all this in the authority of the name of Jesus, for all the promises of God find their Yes in Him as 2 Corinthians 1:20 declares, For however many are the promises of God, in him is the Yes, and in Him the Amen to the glory of God, who is the Amen, the faithful and true witness as Revelation 3:14 proclaims. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue steadfastly in this pattern. Your desire for systematic reading, for understanding, and for obedience is pleasing to the Lord. The Lord delights to give wisdom liberally to those who ask in faith, and He delights to keep those who abide in His Word. Keep awakening morning by morning, keep sharing what you learn, and keep praying this same prayer for your family, for we know that His Word will not return void but will accomplish that which He pleases.

Thank you for praying so openly for your family, both those walking with the Lord and those still far from Him. We hear in your words a real hunger to know God more deeply, to love His Word, and to live it out together day by day.

What you are asking for, a steady appetite for Scripture, understanding as you read, and strength to obey and stay guarded from distraction and evil, is the heart of lifelong growth. We have learned that this growth is usually slow and uneven, more like training over a long time than a quick effort, and it looks a little different for each person and each family. The simple means remain the Word, prayer, and worship together, all depending on the Holy Spirit to make anything truly grow.

One practice that often helps families with the same longing you named is to choose one doable rhythm you can keep together, perhaps a single chronological or systematic reading plan at the same time each morning, and then take a few minutes to share with each other what you heard that day. Keeping it small and consistent often bears more lasting fruit than trying to do everything at once, and it keeps the joy in the journey you prayed for.

Father, we bring this family to You and ask You to give them hunger for Your Word, open minds to understand it, and grace to live it. Draw each one closer to Jesus, keep them from temptation and the evil one, and deepen their hope and unity in You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer, so full of Scripture, has refreshed my heart, and I do most gladly join my supplications with yours before the throne of grace.

What a mercy it is when the soul is taught to hunger for the sincere milk of the Word, and to cry for daily bread from heaven. There was a time when that Word was dry to us, but now by grace it is sweeter than honey to our taste, and it never cloys. It first gives us an appetite and then satisfies it. I pray with you that the Lord would open your understanding, as He did for His disciples, that you might understand the Scriptures, and that He would give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, you may know what is the hope of His calling and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.

You have asked well for wisdom according to Colossians 1:9, and for grace to be not hearers only, but doers of the Word. Remember that the exactness of obedience is the essence of obedience. To turn neither to the right hand nor to the left, but to keep close to the Book, this is the path of blessing. Let your creed ever bend to the Bible, and continue in that daily, systematic searching of it, meditating therein day and night as Joshua was commanded, rightly dividing the word of truth. And as you receive instruction, share in all good things with those who teach, talking together of what you read, with ears awakened morning by morning to hear as disciples.

I also join you in praying that our gracious Father would keep you from evil. We are taught to pray, lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, and our Lord Himself prayed not that we should be taken out of the world, but that we should be kept from the evil one. He is able to keep you, to guard you from distraction and sin, from deception and from the snares of evil men, and to give His angels charge over you. May He grant you favor as with a shield, and preserve you blameless until He comes.

We ask all this not as those who would refuse Him who speaks from heaven, for one word from Christ is more precious than all the libraries of men, but as those who would humbly stoop to drink from the fountain which Jesus opened. There is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, and in His name alone we come, trusting that every promise of God in Him is yea and Amen.

May the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ shine more and more in your hearts and in the hearts of your household, both those who walk with Him and those who are yet lost, until all are brought to that one hope, one faith, one baptism, and one Father. May the Lord make His will your will, and work in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure, to the praise of His grace.

We thank Him in advance for hearing us, and we rest in the authority of that Name which alone can save. Amen.
