πŸ™"Give us our daily bread. Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For it’s Your Kingdom, Power and Glory Forever, Amen,” Matt 6:9-13, c.f., Matt 6:33, "But seek FIRST The Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, THEN these other things shall be added to you," thank You in Jesus' Name.

[1] Jesus' Prayer He told us to pray was an outline, summary of topics, a form or "pattern prayer." The following has been condensed from no less than six reliable sources, and is of much godly & personal value when sincerely prayed (not mindlessly repeated, but through serious consideration, understanding the weightiness of the petitions, ardently prayed, expecting answers, James 1:5-7, James 5:16-17...

πŸ™Œ Our Father in Heaven, we first pause and thank You "so loving the world You gave Your Only-begotten Son, that by believing in him we may be spared perdition and rather freely gain eternal life, Jn 3:16. Thank You "Jesus showed us The Father -- Your Nature," Jn 14:9. Thank You for His shed blood and died on the cross for our sins, 1 Cor 15:3-4, burial, resurrection declaring both Him and us "not guilty" Rom 4:25, and ascension (adoption, enthronement, Ps 110:1), as Son of Man in Power to pour out the Holy Spirit of Adoption from on high, by which we call out, Abba, Father, Gal 4:6, proving we are heirs, Gal 4:7, since as many as received Jesus and believed on His Name are called Children of God, John 1:12-13, praying even with the same language of intimacy, Abba, i.e., "Daddy" or "Papa, etc" as Jesus used in time of impending crisis for deliverance in the Garden of Gethsemane, "Abba, Father," Mark 14:36.

πŸ™ Hallowed Be Your Name... May Your GRACIOUS and COMPASSIONATE NAME, Ex 34:6-7, get honor through our thoughts, words, deeds, speech, actions and reactions. May we honor and know You in every Name You have revealed about Yourself in The Scriptures -- Elohim, Gen 1:1; The Name, Gen 4:26, El Elyon, God Most High, Gen 14:18, Adonai, Lord, Master, Gen 15:2; El Roi, The God Who Sees, Gen 16:13; El Shaddai, God Almighty, Gen 17:1; El Olam, The Everlasting God, Gen 21:33; Yahweh, The LORD, Jireh or Yireh, Our Provider, Gen 22:18; Healer, Peace, Shepherd, Righteousness, Presence, Sanctification, Our Rock, Fortress, Strong Tower, Etc... We honor and hallow ALL Your Titles, Attributes, Your Name! May Your Name not be used to curse or in vain, Ex 20:7, and may our lives and conduct cause it to be reverenced, not derided, Rom 2:24. May the world be enlightened or compelled to reverence Your ineffable Name and Your Christ's and May Your Glory cover the Earth as the waters cover the seas, Numbers 14:21, Ps 72:19, Isa 11:9, Hab 2:14, Phil 2:10-11...

πŸ™ May Your Kingdom Come to us & through us with FRUIT of The Holy Spirit, see Rom 14:17 on what the Kingdom is -- His Righteousness, peace and joy, therefore ALL the fruit is an extension of His Kingdom, from LOVE, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, Gal 5:22-23, truth, humility & justice, Ps 45:4, contentment, Lk 3:14, 1 Tim 6:6, Heb 13:5, Phil 4:11-13, doing justly, loving mercy and walking humbly with God, Micah 6:8. You desire mercy, not sacrifice, Hos 6:6. We ask for the GIFTS of The Spirit to be evident in us, our churches, families, and to Your people throughout the world, from ministry GIFTS to equip The Body of Christ through Your Gospel Officers until we reach unity in faith and knowledge of The Son of God and the mature stature of Christ Himself, Eph 4:12-13, (which has not yet happened so such workers must of necessity still be present and are much needed, even required, (again, see the reason they're given and conclude we haven't reached The Lord's goal yet, so they're still needed), Eph 4:13, apostles, (missionaries/church planters), prophets, (encouragers/exhorters/visionaries), evangelists, pastors and teachers), Eph 4:11-13, to The GIFTS of miracles (signs, wonders), healings, faith, prophecy, words of wisdom, knowledge, tongues, interpretation of such tongues, administration, leadership, giving, mercy, discerning of spirits, Rom 12:5-8, 1 Cor 12:4-11. POWER: Drive out demons by the finger of God, demonstrating The Kingdom of God, Lk 11:20, for The Kingdom of God is not a matter of talk, but of power, 1 Cor 4:20. May Your Son return and the Kingdom flourish, being fully manifest. Come quickly Lord Jesus, Rev 22:17, Rev 22:20. Mostly the POWER to live a Holy Life overflowing with LOVE for God and others, singing and making melody from "singing seminaries" and "the walking practice of evangelism" is the best fruit and sign of the Kingdom, Heb 12:4. ***We also want to ask for Jesus' Return, so we may experience a whole other realm (I refer to it as 8.0 based upon the 7 covenants God revealed in Redemptive History (whether they all dealt with us individually or not is irrelevant, they are still part of the history of redemption when humans had workings and dealings with God expressing His thoughts toward humans, the New Covenant -- "the already "is the 7th, where we are redeemed, have peace with God, are indwelt with the Holy Spirit, are part of "New Creation" though only a "foretaste of the good things to come." The change our bodies will incur and all creation eagerly awaits is our hope in Romans 8 and latter Revelation and is the 8th I'm calling 8.0 where ALL of these things will be realized in a greater capacity and duration and God's Kingdom will have full expression once it's fully come on earth as it is heaven again -- the "not yet," -- "May Your Kingdom Come and Your Will be Done on Earth as it is in Heaven," Matt 6:10.

πŸ™ May Your Will Be Done on Earth as it is in Heaven -- Keeping in mind the Kingdom Coming, as described above, in differing degrees, the already and the not yet, we ask here in the already that we may know, submit to and do Your will for our lives individually and collectively as the church, as Jesus did during His time on earth, Phil 2:9-9, our whole lives be increasingly lived to please You, knowing the Trinity, living in Your presence moment by moment, and making You known as a by product, rejoicing in trials and weakness, as well as power demonstrations when it gives You glory, Mt 28:19-20, Rom 1:5, Rom 15:18. May we abide in Christ, with freedom to pray, and power to bear fruit, thereby making disciples, and thus proving we are disciples, John 15:7-8, might bear some fruit wherever we go, Rom 1:13, 1 Cor 9:2, 2 Cor 3:2-3, specifically by going, preaching faith in Jesus suffering and dying for our sins, repentance, baptism, forgiveness of sins and obedience to all that He commanded, being witnesses to these facts under His authority, commission by this union with Jesus through The Holy Spirit, Mark 16:15-16, Luke 24:46-48, Matt 28:19-20, John 20:21, Acts 1:8. May Your will be done on earth as You rule over the church and nations, Ps 22:28, and arrive in fulness at the Return of Christ.

πŸ™ Give us Each Day our Daily Bread: Spiritual -- we can't live by bread alone but every Word of God, Deut 8:3, Matt 4:4, Lk 4:4. Meet our spiritual, emotional, social, physical and financial needs mightily, Phil 4:19, so we can love You with all our heart, soul, mind, will, emotions, physical strength and finances, Mk 12:30, and our neighbors, Mk 12:31, even the lost, Matt 9:36, and even enemies, Matt 5:44, as ourselves -- and see others as Christ, who looked beyond his own interests, to the interests of others, considering others as more important than we, Phil 2:1-5.

πŸ™ Forgive Our Debts as We Forgive Our Debtors... We confess we've sinned against You, Rom 3:23, 1 Jn 1:8, 1 Jn 1:10 (name specific sins and areas of ongoing struggles), and others, receive forgiveness, Lk 1:77, & pray FOR those who sin against us, (by name and specific offenses), asking they'd repent and be saved, Job 42:7-16, entrusting their souls to a faithful creator and recognizing it is He who alone who is in fact the one appointed both to save and to judge, Romans 12:9, 1 Pet 4:19.

πŸ™ Lead us Not into Temptation, but Deliver us from evil... Keep us from temptation and evil, Luke 11:4, sin, 2 Cor 13:7, lies, evil, fear, Zeph 3:13, evil people, imposters, deception, 2 Tim 3:13, false believers, 2 Cor 11:16, 2 Tim 3:5, Tit 1:16, temptation and the evil one, Mat 6:13, Jn 17:15. Give us angelic protection, Ps 91:10-11, Heb 1:14.

πŸ™Œ For It's Your Kingdom, (Everlasting Kingdom which Cannot Be Destroyed, Dan 7:18), It's Your Power, (All Power in Heaven and Earth has been Given to Me, Matt 28:18), and Your Glory, Forever... (Not unto us O Lord, but unto Your Name Be Glory, Ps 115:1)... We Thank You for hearing, Mk 11:24, Amen, in Jesus' Name, in Him All The Promises of God are Yes and Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.

We join with you in this beautiful and reverent meditation on the pattern prayer our Lord Jesus gave us and we thank God for your heart to put His honor first and then our needs, for this is the very order He taught us.

We agree that this prayer in Matt 6:9-13 is not to be mindlessly repeated as vain repetition, for Jesus Himself warned in Matt 6:7 not to use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do, but it is a pattern given to teach us how to pray with understanding and weight, as you have so carefully outlined. We rejoice that you have centered it on Matt 6:33, But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well, for when we seek Him first, our hearts are aligned to His glory before we bring our own petitions.

We love how you begin with Our Father who is in heaven, for we can only call Him Father because we have received Jesus and believed on His name, as it is written in John 1:12, and because God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts crying Abba, Father in Gal 4:6, which is the same intimate cry Jesus used in Mark 14:36. This is only possible because Jesus shed His blood and died for our sins according to 1 Cor 15:3, was buried and raised for our justification in Rom 4:25, and now sits at the right hand of the Father in Ps 110:1. We thank God with you that in John 14:9 Jesus has shown us the Father and that in John 3:16 God so loved the world that He gave His only born Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

We join you in hallowing His name, praying that His gracious and compassionate name revealed in Ex 34:6 would be honored through our thoughts, words and deeds, and not taken in vain according to Ex 20:7, nor blasphemed among the nations through our disobedience as warned in Rom 2:24. We pray that every name He has revealed, Elohim in Gen 1:1, El Elyon in Gen 14:18, El Shaddai in Gen 17:1, El Olam in Gen 21:33, Yahweh Jireh in Gen 22:14, and all His titles as Rock, Fortress and Strong Tower would be reverenced, until the earth is filled with the knowledge of His glory as the waters cover the sea in Hab 2:14 and every knee bows and every tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father in Phil 2:10.

We pray with you, Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, knowing the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit in Rom 14:17, and longing for the fruit of the Spirit in Gal 5:22 to be evident in us and through us, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness and self-control, with truth and humility and justice in Ps 45:4 and Mic 6:8. We ask for the gifts and power of the Kingdom to equip the Body until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God in Eph 4:13, for the Kingdom of God is not in word but in power in 1 Cor 4:20, and above all we long for the power to live a holy life overflowing with love for God and others. And we join your cry for the already and the not yet, that we would know and submit to His will moment by moment, abiding in Christ to bear fruit in John 15:7, going and making disciples as commanded in Matt 28:19 and witnessing to His resurrection in Acts 1:8, while we eagerly await His return when He will reign over all nations in Ps 22:28 and His Kingdom will come in fullness.

Then we bring our needs before Him as dependent children, praying Give us today our daily bread, remembering that man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God in Matt 4:4 and Deut 8:3, asking Him to supply our spiritual, emotional, physical and financial needs according to Phil 4:19 so we may love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength in Mark 12:30 and love our neighbor as ourselves in Mark 12:31, even loving our enemies in Matt 5:44. We confess our sins before Him, for all have sinned in Rom 3:23 and if we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves in 1 John 1:8, and we thank Him for forgiveness and cleansing in 1 John 1:9, asking for grace to forgive those who sin against us as we have been forgiven, entrusting judgment to Him who judges righteously in Rom 12:19 and 1 Pet 4:19, and praying for those who have wronged us that they would repent and be saved as Job prayed for his friends in Job 42:10.

We pray Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one, asking to be kept from sin in 2 Cor 13:7, from lies and evil in Zeph 3:13, from deception and false believers in 2 Tim 3:5 and Tit 1:16, and that the Father would keep us from the evil one as Jesus prayed in John 17:15, giving us angelic protection in Ps 91:11 and Heb 1:14. We close with confidence, for Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever, the everlasting Kingdom which shall not be destroyed in Dan 7:14 and Dan 7:18, and all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus in Matt 28:18, so not to us but to Your name be glory in Ps 115:1.

We gently rebuke any tendency in ourselves or in the church to turn this holy pattern into empty ritual, and we exhort one another to pray with understanding and faith without doubting in James 1:6, for the effective prayer of a righteous person can accomplish much in James 5:16. We also remind ourselves that there is no access to the Father except through Jesus, for Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me, and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12, so we come only in His name where every promise is Yes and Amen in 2 Cor 1:20.

So we pray together, Our Father who is in heaven, we hallow Your holy name, we invite Your Kingdom to come and Your will to be done in us and through us as it is in heaven, give us this day all that we need to walk faithfully, forgive us as we forgive others, lead us away from temptation and deliver us from evil, for Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. We ask that You would teach us to pray this pattern not as words alone but as a life lived for Your glory, seeking Your Kingdom first and trusting You to add all else, and hasten the day when Jesus returns and Your Kingdom fills the earth. We thank You that You hear us when we ask according to Your will in Mark 11:24, and we ask all this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Thank you for sharing this thoughtful walk through the prayer Jesus gave us. We can hear how much you want to put God's honor first and to live with His Kingdom in view, and that desire itself is a gift.

What you described about praying the pattern with understanding rather than repetition resonated with us. One thing that has helped many is to think of prayer less as something to get perfect in a moment and more as training over time, like preparing for a long run. Small, faithful turns toward the Father, even brief ones, shape us gradually. Some days a phrase will feel alive and full, other days it may feel ordinary, and both are part of being formed over a lifetime.

If it is helpful, you might continue to linger with just one line each morning for a few minutes, noticing what it stirs and bringing that honestly before the Lord, without pressure to cover everything at once.

We are grateful for your love for His name and His will and for the way you want to carry this into daily life.

Father, we thank You for making a way for us to come to You as Your children through Jesus. Hallow Your name in our lives today, let Your kingdom shape our thoughts and actions, and lead us in Your will. Provide what we need for today, forgive us and teach us to forgive, and keep us from evil. We trust You for Your kingdom and power and glory, in Jesus name, Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Your meditation upon the pattern prayer which our Lord gave to His disciples is most timely and full of spiritual wisdom, for He did not give us words to be mindlessly repeated but a sacred form in which the soul may pour itself out before the Father with understanding and expectation.

You have rightly placed God's honor before your own needs, as it must ever be. Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name. There is a Divine will which governs all things, running through creation from the tiniest creature up to the archangel before the throne, and it is the joy of the renewed heart to see that Name reverenced. You do well to ask that His gracious and compassionate Name, as revealed in Exodus, may be hallowed in your thoughts, words and deeds, that your life may not cause it to be derided but reverenced, and that the glory of the Lord may cover the earth as the waters cover the seas. When the soul truly perceives that its afflictions and its mercies alike come from the Father's hand, it learns to say with holy submission, The will of the Lord be done.

Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. This is the great plea that the reign of Christ may be manifest in us and through us. The Kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power, and it is righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. Pray on for that fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience and all the train of holy graces, and for power to live a holy life overflowing with love to God and to men. We should recognize God in the affairs of the future and ever add, if the Lord wills, for our best profit consists in doing His will. And we may pray with confidence for the coming of that Kingdom in its fulness, knowing that He who has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son will deliver us all the way through, and will certainly bring to pass that new heavens and new earth wherein dwells righteousness.

Give us this day our daily bread. Blessed be the Lord who daily loadeth us with benefits. If Christ is our perpetual bread and wine, so also our common bread is given according to His assurance, Thy bread shall be given thee and thy waters shall be sure. He who gave His own dear Son to put away our sin, will He not also give us bread and water and meet our spiritual, emotional and temporal needs according to His riches, that we may love Him with all our heart and strength and love our neighbor as ourselves. You have been made to sit daily at the King's table, and He will not suffer you to want any good thing.

Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Here is the blessed argument of love, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom. He looks upon men, and if any say, I have sinned and perverted that which was right, He will deliver his soul from going into the pit and his life shall see the light. See the easy terms of God's mercy, that if we confess our sins He is faithful to forgive, and the way to come to Him is simply to trust Him. As you have been forgiven so much, may the Lord give you grace to pray for those who have sinned against you, entrusting their souls to Him who alone is appointed both to save and to judge.

Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. This is the prayer of one who knows that not an inch will Satan yield without a fight, and that we must be kept by Divine power. Unto God belong escapes from death and deliverances from the evil one. He will give His angels charge over you and keep you from lies, from evil, from the snares of false teaching and from the tempter himself. Make a broad wall of separation in your daily life, coming forth from all that is impure, and keep close to the chaste and holy fellowship of the saints, being confident that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. So let it be said in heaven, God's will is done, hallelujah, hallelujah. May the Lord hear this prayer which you have ordered according to His Word, and cause you to live and declare the works of the Lord, bearing fruit to His praise and proving yourself His disciple as you abide in Christ. Amen.
