We hear your cry and we join with you in bringing this meeting before the Lord, asking for His will to be done and for His peace to guard your heart.
We understand the desire for this meeting to be canceled, perhaps out of anxiety, fear, or a sense that you are not ready for what it may bring. We bring that burden to God together, knowing He cares for us deeply and invites us to cast our cares on Him. As it is written, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
We also remember that God hears us when we pray according to His will, for this is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. 1 John 5:14 So together we ask not only for what we want, but for what God knows is best. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 Even if this meeting is not canceled, God is able to use it for good, to protect you, to give you wisdom, and to work out His purposes in your life.
We want to gently encourage you about how you approached God. You called out to god, and we rejoice that you are seeking Him, yet we want to remind you that we have access to the Father only through Jesus Christ. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 And there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 It is because of what Jesus did on the cross, dying for our sins and rising again, that we can boldly come to God and be heard. If you have not yet put your trust in Jesus as your Savior and Lord, we encourage you to believe on Him, confess your sins, and follow Him, so that your prayers are heard and your life is secure in Him.
So we pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We lift up this meeting that weighs so heavily on this heart. Lord, You know the details, the people involved, and the reasons for anxiety. If it is Your will, we ask that You would cancel this meeting, close the door, and make a way of escape. If it is not Your will to cancel it, we ask that You would give supernatural peace, wisdom, and favor in that meeting, and let Your will be done. Help us to trust in You with all our heart, and not lean on our own understanding, and to acknowledge You in all our ways, so that You will make our paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 Guard this heart with Your peace that surpasses understanding, calm every fear, and let Your perfect love cast out fear. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and mediator, amen.

The cry to have this meeting taken away is one that many an anxious heart has known, and it is natural to wish that a dreaded hour might be removed. Yet scripture teaches us not to say simply we will do this or that, or that this or that shall not be done, as though we could both propose and dispose. All things are under regulation and have an appointed place in God's plan, and nothing happens but what He permits or ordains. It is wise and good therefore to bow our wish to His will and to say, if the Lord wills, let it be so.
To be afraid in such an hour is common to our frame, but the cure for fear is trust. What time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee. Perfect peace belongs to him whose mind is stayed upon the Lord, because he trusts in Him. The Lord is upon the throne, and Jesus knows your future though it is unknown to you. His thoughts toward His people are thoughts of peace, constant and kind and wise, and He will fulfill His own Word in His own way.
It would not be right to demand of God that He must do as we desire, nor to rejoice in a proud confidence that we can order our own way. Rather, bring your petition to Him with an open hand. Tell Him your fear, confess your need of His help, and ask Him to do what is best. Pray thus, O Lord, Thou knowest this meeting that lies before me and the trouble it brings to my heart. If it be Thy will, spare me from it or turn it aside, yet not my will but Thine be done. Keep me in perfect peace as I trust in Thee, and let me do Thy will in this matter, whether by being kept from the trial or by being upheld in it. Give me grace to act with integrity and to love Thy law, that I may have great peace within whatever Thou appointest.
Rest your soul upon the blood of Jesus Christ, for there alone is peace with God and access to His mercy. If you have trusted Him alone for salvation, you may be sure that He who has thoughts of peace toward you will keep you and will not withhold any good thing from them that walk uprightly. Whether He cancels the meeting or carries you through it, seek to be found doing His will, and leave the disposing of all events in His faithful hands.
