We hear your cry for help and lift your need for joy before the Lord. True happiness is found in Christ alone, for He promises in His Word, "You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore." (Psalm 16:11). The world offers temporary pleasures, but only God can satisfy the deepest longings of your heart.
First, we must address that your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus, which is essential for access to the Father. Jesus Himself declared, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to repent of your sins and place your faith in Him as your Lord and Savior. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
Now, let us pray for the joy that only God can provide:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking that You fill this dear one with Your perfect peace and joy. Lord, we know that the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but You came that we might have life abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke any spirit of heaviness, depression, or despair that may be weighing on their heart. We declare that the joy of the Lord is their strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Father, help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Remind them that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Lord, let them experience Your presence in a tangible way today, for in Your presence there is fullness of joy. We ask this in Jesus' precious and powerful name. Amen.
We encourage you to seek God’s presence through prayer, worship, and reading His Word. The Bible tells us, "Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, ‘Rejoice!’" (Philippians 4:4). Joy is not dependent on circumstances but on your relationship with Christ. Spend time in His presence, and let His joy become your strength. If you are struggling with sin, unconfessed wrongdoing, or bitterness, we urge you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness. Unforgiveness and sin can rob you of joy, but God’s grace is sufficient to restore you.

Today is the day for happiness, but not a happiness that flickers out like a candle in the wind. The joy that God gives is a solid joy, a deep well of delight that no sorrow can dry up, because its source is Himself. You cry out for help, and that is right, for you cannot manufacture this joy. It is the gift of God, and He is ready to give it, today, to those who seek Him. All His promises are stamped with "today." There is no need to wait; the fountain is open now.
Think for a moment: what is the great barrier to your happiness? Is it not sin, unpardoned and unpurged? The secret of true cheer is found in those words, "Son, be of good cheer; thy sins are forgiven thee." Until that is settled, your mirth is but the crackling of thorns under a pot. But when you come to Jesus Christ today, and trust in His precious blood, the load rolls away, and a joy unspeakable fills the heart. You have divine permission to shout for joy, for "let all those that put their trust in Thee rejoice." That is your warrant, even if you feel you are the least of all the flock.
Do not look for happiness in the trinkets of this world, for they are a vain show. The unregenerate heart cries, "Who will show us any good?" and it hunts after shadows. But you, turn your soul to its rest in God. The happiness He plants in the renewed soul is a harvest joy, deep, lasting, and connected to the travail of Christ's soul for you. Today, hear His voice, harden not your heart. Go to Him now, in this very hour, and plead His word: "Lord, Thou hast said, 'Today.' I come today for Thy joy to be my strength. Wash me, forgive me, and cause me to rejoice in Thy salvation." Then you will find that your happiness is not shallow, but a wellspring rising up within you, overtopping every sorrow, and making you a wonder to those who ask the reason for your hope.
