Beloved
🙏 Father, thank You for Isaiah 62:6-7, "On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have posted watchmen; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the LORD shall take no rest for yourselves, nor give Him any rest until He establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth." We petition You to Restrain Evil, we pray for all in authority, 1 Tim 2:1-2, salvation in Jesus' Name, 1 Tim 2:3-4... 🙌 Father -- You are Sovereign, "having made from one man all the nations of the earth, determining both their appointed times and exact boundaries of their habitation," Acts 17:26. "Surely the nations are as a drop in a bucket, regarded as the small dust of a balance," Isa 40:15.

Lifting this burden to You, asking You to restrain the evil one over several unruly countries at present, asking You intercept evil plans, sovereignly, as Elisha heard the king of Syria and related it to Israel, in 2 Kings 6:12, and how David knew evil had been intended against him by Saul, 1 Sam 20:3, 1 Sam 20:9, 1 Sam 20:27-42.

Bind the spirit of retaliation and aggression over these countries, Dan 10:12-13, 14. Please back the evil one off of their leaders and strategists, even using our prayer, praise and worship, 1 Sam 16:23, Ps 149, Ps 149, Ps 150, et cetera, "From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the name of The LORD shall be praised," Ps 113:3.

Lead us, our country, and our leaders not into temptation, but rather deliver them from evil, Mt 6:13, for we are not ignorant of the devil's schemes, 2 Cor 2:11, a murderer from the beginning and a liar by nature, Jn 8:44.

May the Church actually be Your Helpmeet, Gen 2:18, Eph 5:32-33, imitating God, Eph 5:1, even Jesus, who also intercedes for us, Rom 8:34, since You ever live to make intercession for us, Heb 7:25, Jesus Christ, the visible image of the invisible God, Col 1:15, John 14:9. "We heard of Jesus of Nazareth, how He went about doing good and healing -- all -- who were oppressed by the devil, for You were with Him," Acts 10:38-39, 40, 41, said Peter, who was strictly prohibited to bear false witness, as were all the apostles, Ex 20:16, and as we are too called to be a holy nation, and royal priesthood, 1 Pet 2:9. We also shall do the works He did, Mt 21:21, Mk 11:23-24, Jn 14:12, in prayer and whatever else He shows us, Jn 15:7.

Spoil the evil one's plans and tactics until they only conform to Your exact will -- and since these things are beyond our limitations, we at least make them the subject of our prayers, confessing our sins and the sins of our nation, Dan 9:20, 1 Tim 2:1-2, 3, 4. Restrain the evil one with a great chain even now in part, Dan 20:2, knowing the fullness will one day be a sight to behold, Luke 10:18, nevertheless thank You for authority, Lk 10:19, but since the devil is temporary, we more gladly rejoice in the things that accompany salvation, Lk 10:20. Thank You in Jesus' Name.

We stand together in fervent agreement with your cry for God’s intervention over the nations, lifting up this burden in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. The Scriptures you’ve cited remind us that our God is sovereign over all the earth, He sets up kings and brings them down, and not a single nation is beyond His authority. As it is written, "The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires" (Proverbs 21:1). We declare that the leaders of these unruly nations will be turned toward wisdom, justice, and peace, for the Lord alone directs the affairs of men.

Father, we come against the spirit of retaliation and aggression that seeks to incite violence and division. Just as You restrained the schemes of the king of Syria in Elisha’s day (2 Kings 6:8-12), we ask You to intercept and dismantle every evil plot before it takes root. Bind the powers of darkness that whisper lies into the ears of rulers and strategists, and let Your truth prevail. "For we are not ignorant of his schemes" (2 Corinthians 2:11), and we refuse to let the enemy have his way. We plead the blood of Jesus over these nations, declaring that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

We also recognize that the Church is called to be Your helpmeet, a holy nation and royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9), standing in the gap through intercession, worship, and obedience. Just as David’s praise drove away Saul’s tormenting spirit (1 Samuel 16:23), we lift up songs of worship and declarations of Your sovereignty, knowing that praise is a weapon that confounds the enemy. "Let the high praises of God be in their mouths, and a two-edged sword in their hands" (Psalm 149:6). We will not be silent, for You have posted us as watchmen on the walls (Isaiah 62:6-7), and we will give You no rest until Your purposes are established.

Lord, we confess that we have not always been faithful in this calling. We repent for the times we have grown complacent, distracted, or fearful, and we ask for a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit to stir us to action. Raise up more intercessors who will stand in the breach, more voices that will declare Your truth, and more hands that will serve in love. Let the Church arise as the Bride of Christ, radiant and without spot or wrinkle (Ephesians 5:27), reflecting Your glory to the nations.

We also pray for the salvation of those in authority, as Paul exhorted Timothy: "I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the full knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:1-4). Father, open their eyes to see the emptiness of their ways and draw them to the light of Christ. Let Your gospel penetrate the halls of power, transforming hearts and nations.

We rebuke the spirit of deception that blinds leaders to the truth, and we command every lying tongue to be silenced in Jesus’ name. Just as You exposed the plots of Saul against David (1 Samuel 20), we ask You to reveal every hidden agenda of the enemy and bring it to nothing. Let Your angels encamp around those who serve You, protecting them from harm and guiding them in Your ways.

Father, we also acknowledge that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). We take up the full armor of God, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word (Ephesians 6:13-17). We stand firm, praying at all times in the Spirit, watching with perseverance and supplication for all the saints.

We declare that the gates of hell will not prevail against Your Church (Matthew 16:18), and we rejoice in the authority You have given us to trample on serpents and scorpions (Luke 10:19). Yet even more, we rejoice that our names are written in heaven (Luke 10:20), for this is the ultimate victory. Thank You, Lord, that though the enemy prowls like a roaring lion (1 Peter 5:8), he is already a defeated foe. One day, he will be cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10), but until then, we resist him, steadfast in the faith.

We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name, the only Name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. We come before You only through the merit of Christ’s sacrifice, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Without Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5), but with Him, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).

Father, we trust You to restrain evil, to guide leaders, and to establish Your kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. We will not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, we will reap if we do not faint (Galatians 6:9). Strengthen us for the days ahead, fill us with Your Spirit, and let Your will be done. We worship You, the King of kings and Lord of lords, now and forevermore. Amen.

We read your prayer and felt the heavy burden you’re carrying for the world right now. When unrest and scheming fill the news, it’s easy to feel small, but your instinct to turn it all over to God is exactly where the strength lies. He’s never caught off guard, and His vision reaches every corner where ours cannot. The faith you pour into these requests isn’t wasted; it’s part of the quiet, powerful work He does behind the scenes.

Sometimes it helps to anchor this kind of large-scale intercession in something concrete. Maybe pick one specific nation or leader each day and pray through your list of concerns for them alone, even for just a few minutes. Or link up with a prayer group at your church that shares this global burden, it can be encouraging to know you’re not the only one standing watch.

But even on the days when you feel like your words are just a drop in the bucket, keep speaking them. God hears, and He is not indifferent.

We’re praying with you now:

Lord, You see the leaders and nations that weigh so heavily on our hearts. You know every hidden scheme, every impulse toward aggression, every vulnerable person caught in the crossfire. We ask You to restrain what is evil, to grant wisdom where it’s lacking, and to protect the innocent. Expose what needs to be exposed, and in Your mercy draw many toward the saving knowledge of Jesus. And please strengthen this faithful prayer partner, reminding them that they don’t carry this alone, You watch over the nations, and You never slumber. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
