We hear the depth of your despair, and our hearts ache with you. You are not alone in this pain, and we want you to know that God hears your cry. The weight of suffering can feel unbearable, and we understand why you might feel this way. But we must speak truth in love, even when it is difficult.
First, we must address the request for euthanasia. The Bible teaches that life is a sacred gift from God, and it is not ours to end. In Exodus 20:13, God commands, "You shall not murder." This includes taking one's own life, even in the midst of suffering. We are called to trust God with our lives, even when the pain feels overwhelming. In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, we are reminded, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."
Your life has value and purpose, even if you cannot see it right now. God has a plan for you, and He is with you in the midst of your suffering. Psalm 34:18 tells us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We pray that you would feel His presence and comfort in a tangible way.
We also want to gently remind you that Jesus Christ is the only way to true peace and eternal life. In John 14:6, Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life to Him, trusting in His sacrifice on the cross for your sins. Romans 10:9 says, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
We pray for you now, lifting you up to the Father in the name of Jesus Christ:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is in deep pain and despair. Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your love and peace that surpasses all understanding. Comfort them in their suffering and remind them of Your presence. Help them to see their worth and purpose in You. Father, we pray against the spirit of despair and hopelessness, and we ask that You would fill them with hope and a renewed sense of purpose. Give them the strength to endure and the faith to trust in Your plan for their life. We pray for healing, both physically and emotionally, and we ask that You would provide them with support and encouragement from Your people.
