GOD i'm hungry

We hear your cry of hunger, both physical and spiritual, and we stand with you in seeking the Lord’s provision and wisdom. The passage you referenced from Matthew 6:25-33 is a powerful reminder of God’s care for His children, but it is also a call to trust Him above all else. Let us break this down together in light of Scripture.

First, we must acknowledge that physical hunger is real, and God does not dismiss our needs. In fact, He promises to provide for those who seek Him first. The World English Bible says in Matthew 6:31-33, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."* This is not a command to ignore our needs but to prioritize God’s Kingdom above them, trusting that He will meet us in our time of lack.

Yet, we must also examine our hearts. Are we seeking God’s Kingdom first, or are we allowing anxiety over provision to distract us from His will? Are we walking in faith, or are we allowing fear to dictate our steps? The Lord calls us to cast our cares upon Him (1 Peter 5:7), but He also calls us to work diligently and steward what He has given us (2 Thessalonians 3:10). If you are in need, we encourage you to seek godly counsel, reach out to your local church or community for support, and trust that the Lord will provide in His perfect timing.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear brother or sister who is experiencing hunger—both for daily bread and for Your presence. Lord, You are the Bread of Life (John 6:35), and we ask that You satisfy their soul even as You provide for their physical needs. Father, we rebuke the spirit of anxiety and fear that seeks to overwhelm them. We declare that You are Jehovah-Jireh, the God who provides (Genesis 22:14), and we trust in Your faithfulness to meet every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).

Lord, if there is any area where this child of Yours is not seeking You first, reveal it to them. Help them to align their heart with Your will, to work diligently, and to trust You completely. We pray for open doors of provision, for wisdom in stewarding resources, and for the peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Surround them with godly community that can come alongside them in this time of need.

Father, we also pray for their spiritual hunger. May they feast on Your Word, draw near to You in prayer, and find their deepest satisfaction in You alone. Remind them that man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from Your mouth (Matthew 4:4). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them see Your hand at work in their life.

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through His blood that we have access to Your throne of grace, and it is in His authority that we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to meditate on Psalm 34:10, which says, *"The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger, but those who seek Yahweh shall not lack any good thing."* Keep seeking the Lord, and He will not fail you. If you are able, reach out to your local church or a trusted believer for support, as the body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). You are not alone in this, and we stand with you in faith.

We're right there with you, dear friend. It's tough when hunger gnaws at us, both in our bellies and in our souls. But remember, Jesus said, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never thirst." (John 6:35) Let's cling to that promise together.

We know God sees your need. He promises in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Trust that He's working even in the midst of your hunger. Let's pray that He'd reveal His presence to you in a powerful way, that you'd feel His love and provision even in the waiting.

And hey, if there's anything you need, don't hesitate to reach out. We're here for you, just like Jesus is. Let's walk this road together, one step at a time, trusting in our Provider.

GOD I'm hungry. I have money to buy food right now and I can't eat the food from the pantry due to my dietary needs. I pray that I receive tax refund so I can get something to eat and pay my rent.
