Beloved of All
"To this end also we pray always, that our God will count us worthy of our calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, so that the Name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in us, and we in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ," 2 Thes 1:11.

We rejoice with you in this beautiful and powerful truth from Scripture and we join you in praying this very prayer back to our God.

You have shared the heart of 2 Thess 1:11, which in full says To this end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire of goodness and work of faith, with power, that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. This is not a worthiness we earn by our own striving, for we know that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, Romans 3:23-24. He chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without defect before him in love, Eph 1:4. Our worthiness comes only through the blood of Jesus who cleanses us and clothes us in His righteousness, so that we may walk worthily of the calling with which we were called, Eph 4:1.

We love how this verse shows that God Himself is the one who fulfills every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power. It is God who works in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure, Phil 2:13. We cannot produce goodness or faithfulness in our own strength, but He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ, Phil 1:6. He equips us for every good work, for we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them, Eph 2:10. And the purpose of it all is so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in us and we in Him, according to grace. This is our greatest joy, that Christ would be seen in our lives.

We pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved and no other way we have access to You except through Him, Acts 4:12 and John 14:6. We thank You that You have called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to Your own purpose and grace, 2 Tim 1:9. Lord, we ask that You would count us worthy of that calling, not because we are worthy in ourselves, but because You have made us worthy through the sacrifice of Your Son. Fulfill in us every desire for goodness and every work of faith with Your power. Purify our motives, strengthen our faith, and cause us to bear fruit in every good work and to increase in the knowledge of You, Col 1:10. Help us to walk by faith and not by sight, and to do all things for Your glory. Let the name of our Lord Jesus Christ be glorified in us, and let us be found in Him, that others may see Your grace at work in our lives and give glory to You. We trust in Your faithfulness, for faithful is he who calls you, who will also do it, 1 Thess 5:24. Keep us steadfast, humble, and dependent on Your grace until the day we see You face to face. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We were encouraged to see your heart in this prayer. Wanting to be found faithful in the calling God has given you and to see His goodness take shape in everyday life is a beautiful desire, and we join you in it.

What stands out to us is how this prayer rests entirely on grace. Being counted worthy is not about trying harder but about trusting Christ to form His character in us, and asking Him to bring our good desires and work of faith to completion by His power so that He receives the glory. That keeps the pressure off striving and puts the hope where it belongs, on Him.

We will keep praying this with you, that God would strengthen your faith, make your love for others visible, and let the name of Jesus be honored in your life and community.

If it helps, you might keep this prayer before you each morning this week and jot down one small way you sense God prompting you toward goodness, then ask Him for the power to follow through that day.

Father, we thank You for this brother or sister who longs to honor You. Count them worthy by Your grace, fulfill the desires for goodness You have placed in their heart, and work in them with Your power. Let Jesus be clearly seen in their life, and let them find their joy in Him. In Jesus' name, amen.

The prayer you have quoted is one of the most weighty and precious in all the epistles, and we do most heartily join you in it before the throne of grace.

To this end we also pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of His calling. This worthiness is not of ourselves, for there is no redemption out of Christ, and none to help Him in the matter of redemption. It is Christ alone who has wrought redemption, and it is by simple faith in the Lord Jesus Christ that a sinner is saved. We are saved by faith in Christ and not by works, yet that faith which saves is never alone, for the natural and inevitable fruit of faith in Christ is holiness. May the Lord work in you that faith which purifies the heart and works by love.

We pray that He would fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power. To bring the human heart to exercise simple faith in Jesus is a work of the most astounding power, even the exceeding greatness of His power which He wrought in Christ when He raised Him from the dead. That same power must work in us, for we have no power of our own to believe or to do good. May He clothe you with power from Christ, so that every good desire He has planted in you may be brought to completion.

And all this to the one great end, so that the Name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ is glorified in the conversion of souls and in the holy lives of His people. Wherever His name is preached and trusted, it becomes as ointment poured forth. May your life, your speech, and your hope make much of Christ, for in the Church no one is glorified but Christ, and He shall have all the glory.

May the Lord grant you to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ more firmly, to find your all in Him, and to know the power of His intercession for you this day. We commend you to that grace which alone can keep you and make you fruitful till He comes to be glorified in His saints.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in this prayer from 2 Thessalonians, and we thank God that you desire what the Apostle desired for the church.

To be counted worthy of our calling does not mean we have made ourselves worthy. As we have taught, many are called but do not abide in the calling. The calling here is not only the invitation, but entrance into the life God intends for us, to live as He wills. So we pray that God Himself will make you worthy, by His grace, and will keep you faithful to the end.

When Paul prays that God would fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, he means that God would bring to completion every holy purpose you have according to His will, and give you strength to live it out. The work of faith with power is patient endurance, not fainting under trial, continuing to trust and obey when it would be easier to turn back. As we have seen in the centurion and in the woman who sought healing for her daughter, Christ honors real faith, and He Himself supplies the power to sustain it. Your faith is not from yourself alone, but from God who called you and who works in you.

And the purpose of it all is that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him. When believers suffer hardship and still do not turn away, when they pursue goodness and hold fast in faith, God is glorified and His people are shown to be His. This happens not by our strength, but according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

So we pray for you in that same way now. May our God count you worthy of His calling in Christ, which comes only through faith in Jesus Christ alone. May He fulfill every desire for goodness that is pleasing to Him, and may He give you power to complete every work that faith requires, so that you may not grow weary. May your life show the hope of His calling, and may the name of Jesus be glorified in all you think and do, as you remain in Him by His grace.
