Beloved of All
Your request for your family to have homes of your own and the finances for a more peaceful life has been heard, and it is good that you have brought this need to God in the name of Jesus.
God does care about our practical needs. In Scripture He gave each family its own portion and intended for families to have a stable place to live. He also provided a kinsman redeemer to step in when a family could not redeem what was lost, so that what belonged to the family would be kept and restored. That picture points to His heart to provide and to restore, and it points most fully to Jesus Himself.
At the same time, the greatest provision God has made for us is not a house or money, but forgiveness and peace with Him through His only Son. There is only one way that sin and guilt are put away, and that is through the death of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit bears witness to our hearts of this truth. Whatever else we ask God for, we want to be sure we have first received that provision, by putting our trust in Jesus alone for salvation. That is where true and lasting peace begins.
Jesus understands both family pressures and financial hardship. He was born into a poor family, in a stable that belonged to another, and in His ministry He at one point did not even have a coin of His own and had to borrow one. He also knew what it was to be misunderstood by His own family, who at first did not believe in Him and even thought He had lost His mind. He said that love for Him must come before love for mother or father or any other family member, not in the sense of hating our family, but in putting Him first. When we do, we also discover a deeper bond in the family of God, where those who follow Christ are knit together as brothers and sisters in a way that can be even closer than blood ties.
Scripture also shows that financial trials do not mean God has forgotten us. Some of the early believers were very poor and going through severe trials, yet they had an abundance of joy and were even generous to others in need. God left room in His law for Him to work in unexpected ways, even to do what looked impossible, like cleansing a leper. He is still able to work on your behalf.
We also hear in the Bible that we have a responsibility to care for our own family and to do what we can to provide for them. If we neglect that duty we deny what we profess to believe. God honors faithfulness in these everyday responsibilities as we trust Him to supply what we lack.
So we pray with you that God, according to His wisdom and mercy, would provide for your family. We ask Him to open doors for honest work and sufficient income, to grant wisdom in stewarding what He provides, and to give each household a peaceful place to live if it is His will. Above all we ask that He would anchor your family in the forgiveness and peace that come only through Jesus, and that your joy would not depend on circumstances but on knowing Him. May He guide you step by step, give you contentment while you wait, and build you up together in love both as a natural family and as part of His family of faith.
