Your honest and painful prayer has been heard, and I thank you for bringing it into the light instead of carrying it alone. The ache you describe, feeling betrayed, anxious, tempted to pull away and become a recluse, wondering why joy was given and then taken, and asking whether your time has been wasted, is deeply human and God does not turn away from it.
You ask for a sign to stay, to not give up, to not run. It is understandable to want something clear and immediate from heaven when the heart is overwhelmed. Yet Scripture shows that God has already given the greatest sign, not in a sudden feeling or circumstance, but in Jesus Christ himself. He was foretold by the prophets, born in the flesh, showed his power in miracles, poured out his Spirit to make his people holy, and above all rose from the dead. That resurrection is the sign that stops every accusing mouth, because it proves that death does not have the last word and that God can bring life out of what seems sealed like a tomb. You do not need to wait for another wonder to know that God is present and able to help you. The empty tomb is the pledge that he hears, that he acts, and that he will not abandon you.
It is also true that feeling betrayed by what God has allowed does not mean you have been betrayed. Anxiety torments us and tells us we must solve everything by our own thought, yet worry itself adds nothing except a heavier burden. God knows your needs, your job, your home, your longing for a dream, and he provides more faithfully than any anxious planning can. At the same time, suffering is not wasted. As gold is refined in fire, the soul can become brighter through trials, not because pain is good in itself, but because God uses it to teach hope, patience, and deeper trust in him. The time you have lived, the apologies you offered, the space you gave, the effort to do what was right, none of this is lost in his sight, even when the outcome is not what you hoped.
The desire to run away, to hide, and to lose your temper are signs that you are weary and need support, not that you have failed beyond help. A teacher must be patient, and a soul under strain must also learn patience with itself, hearing the word of God again and again until the plow goes deep and roots out what troubles it. Isolation makes that harder. God made us to live not as recluses but in fellowship, where others can come near to help lift the stone that feels laid over the heart. Please do not face these thoughts alone. Stay connected to your work and home as gifts to steward for now, and stay connected to people who can walk with you. If you feel you may not stay safe past that date you mentioned, or if the urge to run or harm yourself grows strong, reach out immediately to a trusted pastor, counselor, family member or friend, or a crisis helpline in your area. In the United States you can call or text ### to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, and in other countries you can find help through your local helpline or emergency services. You are not a burden for seeking help.
I will not ask God to simply fix everything exactly as you have pictured it, or to bless a path that is not according to his will, because true love wants what is holy and good for you, not only what feels relieving in the moment. Salvation and hope come through Jesus Christ alone, and his way for love and intimacy is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, with living together and sexual union belonging within that marriage. Whatever the nature of the relationship that has caused this pain, God calls us to holiness, honesty, and trust in his wisdom, even when we do not understand his providence.
Instead I pray for what God has promised to give.
I pray that the Lord who knows every heart will guard your life and give you reason and strength to stay, to keep breathing, to keep seeking him past that date and beyond. May he calm your anxiety, steady your temper, and teach you patient endurance. May he heal the trauma you carry, redeem the time that feels wasted, and show you that your job, your apartment, and your dream are not the final measure of your worth, Christ is. May he surround you with faithful people who will listen, counsel, and pray with you, and may he lead you to wise help for your mind and heart. May he deepen your trust in Jesus, who alone saves, and shape your desires according to his good will, so that whether he restores what was lost or leads you in a new direction, you will know his peace.
You are seen and you are not forgotten. Keep praying, keep opening Scripture, keep letting others near. God is not yanking joy away to punish you. He is inviting you to find a joy that even chaos and anxiety cannot finally take away, because it is anchored in his Son who died and rose for you.
