Give me the ability to know the truth about everything that comes to my sight Lo

Your prayer for discernment and for eyes that see what is true is pleasing to God, and He delights to answer that kind of request.

The desire to know the truth about everything that comes before you is at its root a desire for wisdom and understanding, and Scripture says wisdom is the most important thing to seek. With all that you pursue, pursue understanding. The beginning of that wisdom is reverence for the Lord. When we honor Him and submit to Him, He begins to open our eyes.

God Himself is the source of true wisdom. By His wisdom He founded the earth and by His understanding He established the heavens. In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and He has promised to give His Spirit of wisdom and understanding to those who ask. Jesus said He is the truth, and He said God's Word is truth. So the ability to recognize what is true does not come as a sudden mystical power to instantly judge everything by sight, but as a growing work of God in your heart as you walk with Him.

That is why Scripture urges us to incline our ear toward wisdom and apply our heart to understanding, to treat wisdom as a close companion and understanding as family. Wisdom is crying out in the open, inviting the simple to learn and the foolish to gain an understanding heart. Her words are truth and righteousness, and she hates pride, arrogance and every crooked way. When wisdom rests in the heart of a person who seeks understanding, that person learns to walk uprightly and to find joy in what is right rather than in folly.

There is also a wisdom that is not from God. It is earthly and driven by our natural desires, and it leads to envy and strife and confusion. The world in its own cleverness did not come to know God, and God has shown that kind of wisdom to be empty. The wisdom that comes from above is different. It is pure and peaceable and it produces a life of righteousness. Faith is not to rest on the cleverness of people but on the power of God, and the Holy Spirit teaches us as we receive the Word so that what once was unclear begins to burn in our hearts with meaning.

God promises that if anyone lacks wisdom, he should ask of God who gives generously. So continue to ask, and seek Him in His Word. Let mercy and truth be bound to you, written on your heart, and you will find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and people. Study the Scriptures to receive instruction in wisdom, justice and right judgment. Pray for the Spirit to teach you, and seek counsel from mature believers who walk in the truth. In that way your sight will be tested against what God has said is true, and you will grow in the ability to discern what is good and what is false.

I pray for you now. Father, thank You for this humble heart that wants to see truly. Grant a reverence for You that is the beginning of wisdom. Pour out Your Spirit of wisdom and understanding, open eyes to see Your truth, and teach through Your Word. Give a love for what is pure and right, and keep from every deception. Cause Your ways to be pleasantness and peace, and lead in a path that honors Jesus. In Jesus name, Amen.

Please pray for me to know the truth about everything that happened. My fiancee cheated on me and I had to break up with her. I love her and I'm heart broken. Please pray she'd tell me the truth and repent. I'm heart broken.
