Future

How will I know where God wants me to be in my future ? What kind of prayers do I need to be praying ? In Jesus high name.

We are so encouraged by your heart to seek where God wants you to be and how to pray for your future, and we rejoice that you have asked this in the high name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone that we have access to the Father and confidence that He hears us. As it is written, Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. Your desire to pray in His name shows faith that He is your mediator and Lord.

We understand the longing to know God's will for the days ahead, and we want to assure you that God does not hide His will from His children but reveals it as we walk closely with Him. He has good plans for you, for we are told For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. You will come to know His direction not usually all at once, but step by step as you trust Him daily. We are told Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. And He promises I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you Psalm 32:8.

We find God's will is discerned through His Word, through prayer, through the quiet leading of the Holy Spirit, through godly counsel, and through the peace and open doors He provides. As we are transformed by the renewing of our minds through Scripture, we are able to prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God Romans 12:2. When we delight ourselves in Him, He shapes even the desires of our hearts to align with His purposes Psalm 37:4.

For the kind of prayers to pray for your future, we encourage you to pray prayers of surrender, wisdom, and trust. Pray first for surrender, asking as Jesus did, not my will but Yours be done, yielding your plans, timing, and location to Him. Pray for wisdom, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. Pray for clarity and for God to make His path plain, and for a heart to hear and obey. Pray also for open and closed doors, asking God to open what no man can shut and to close what is not His best. And pray with thanksgiving, trusting He will answer, for He says Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great and difficult things, which you don’t know Jeremiah 33:3. Make your prayers continual, honest, and rooted in Scripture, daily committing your future into His hands.

We join our faith with yours now and pray together.

Father, we lift up this dear one to You in the mighty name of Jesus and we thank You for the hunger You have placed in this heart to know Your will. We ask You to pour out wisdom liberally and give clear direction for the future. Lead step by step and make the path straight, and give peace about each decision. Help this one to delight in You, to abide in Your Word, and to be transformed by the renewing of the mind so Your good and perfect will is known. We pray for a fully surrendered heart that seeks Your glory above all else, and we ask You to open the right doors and close the wrong ones, and to provide godly counsel and confirmation. Give assurance that You hold the future and that Your plans are for hope and peace. We trust You to guide and to answer as we call upon You. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Thank you for bringing this honest question to us. Wanting to know where God wants you and how to pray about it is a good and humble place to be.

We have found God rarely lays out the whole future at once. He tends to guide us step by step as we walk with Him day by day. That can feel slow when you want a clear map, but it keeps us close to Him and dependent on Him, not just on a plan.

For prayers, think less about perfect words and more about honest conversation. Some simple ways we pray for guidance are asking God to make our hearts willing to do what He shows us, asking for wisdom to see the next right step, asking for peace to confirm or for unrest to slow us down, and thanking Him that He is with us even while we wait. It also helps to spend part of your prayer time listening quietly after you have spoken, and to bring your Bible reading and prayer together so one shapes the other.

One practical thing that helps many people is to set aside a few quiet minutes each day this week to pray those simple prayers, jot down any thought or opportunity that comes, and then talk it through with one trusted pastor or mature believer who knows you well. That outside perspective often makes guidance clearer.

Father, we lift them to You in Jesus name. Draw near and make Your next step clear in Your timing. Give a willing heart, quiet confidence and wisdom for today. Lead them gently into the future You have prepared. Amen.

There is great wisdom and humility in your question, and the Lord loves to hear such an inquiry from a seeking heart. Counting on the future as though you could dispose of it at your pleasure is folly, for ignorance of the future is a matter of fact. You do not know what a day may bring forth, and it is mercy that you do not. The man who says, I will go and do this or that and get gain, without asking God's consent, forgets that there is a Divine will which governs all things. As surely as God's will is the axle of the universe, so every turn of providence moves upon it.

How then shall you know where God would have you to be. Not by prying into His secret purposes, for many of His purposes are hidden from us, but by giving heed to His revealed will which you must not violate. His revealed will is plain in Scripture. Walk in what you already know to be His will today, and the next step will be made clear in His time. Seek first to be where obedience puts you, to do right, to live purely, to walk uprightly, to serve Christ where you are. Your best profit will consist in doing God's will. Take time in holy quiet thought about your future, about whom you will serve and how the life which God has given you shall be spent for Him, and ask Him to guide you by His providence as well as by His Word.

What prayers then should you pray. Let your prayers combine the two which our Lord Himself has taught us. With the boldness of a child you may say, Father, I will, for He loves to have His children ask largely and open their mouth wide that He may fill it. Yet in the same breath, with true submission, you must say, Not as I will, but as Thou wilt. When you say, I will do this or that, always add in thought if not in words, If the Lord wills. No harm can come to you if you bow to His sovereign sway. You can always have your way when your way is God's way.

There are seasons also when you will be reduced to great straits and will not know which way to turn. Then God's command to you is, Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. It is a posture which is learned not without years of teaching, for marching is easier than standing still, but waiting upon God tries and proves faith. Pray therefore not only for direction, but for a changed will, that the Spirit who works in you to will and to do of His good pleasure would make you willing in the day of His power.

Pray thus. Father, show me Thy revealed will and give me grace to obey it. Order my steps according to Thy Word. If it be Thy will, open this door before me, and if not, shut it and keep me from going astray. Not as I will, but as Thou wilt. Make me content to do Thy will where I am, and to follow Thy leading step by step. In the high name of Jesus, who ever lives to make intercession for His people, ask this, and rest assured that He who has promised, I will have mercy and I will call them My people, will not withhold any good thing from them that walk uprightly, but will guide you with His eye and keep you till He brings you safely home.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your question about the future shows a heart that wants to follow the Lord, and that desire itself is pleasing to Him. God does not leave His children to wander without guidance. He makes His will known as we seek Him faithfully in the present.

You will come to know where God wants you to be not all at once, but step by step, as you walk with Him. His Word is the first light for your path. As you read Scripture daily, pray for understanding, and obey what you already know to be His will, He will make the next step clear. He also guides through the inner witness of the Holy Spirit, through the wise counsel of mature believers, and through the opening and closing of doors in His providence. Remember how Abraham received the promise and only after patient endurance obtained it. God often does not reveal the whole future at once, but He proves His power and trains our faith by leading us through a time of waiting and trusting.

For this reason you need both prayer and faithful action. Prayer without obedience is empty, and work without prayer is without strength. We need grace from Him even when we are doing well, and we need to do our own part as well. Stay alert, do what is good and pleasing to God today, and keep praying. The help of others praying for you is also a great gift, so do not stand alone but ask faithful believers to pray with you.

What kinds of prayers should you be praying for your future.

Pray for wisdom, as James says, if any of you lacks wisdom let him ask of God who gives generously. Ask God to show you His will and to give you a heart to love it.

Pray for surrender. Offer yourself to God and say, not my will but Yours be done. Ask Him to shape your desires to match His.

Pray for clarity and for trust when clarity has not yet come. Ask Him to make your path straight as you trust Him with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

Pray for character more than for position. Ask Him to establish your heart, to make you steadfast in every good work and word, so that whatever place He leads you to, you will be ready to serve Him there.

Pray for open eyes to see the doors He opens and humility to accept the doors He closes.

God hears you always. He is not distant. When you pray in the name of Jesus, you come to a Father who loves you and who has given you eternal comfort and good hope through grace. Continue to seek Him daily, be faithful in the small duties before you now, and He will direct your steps.

I pray that the Lord will give you wisdom, establish you in His truth, comfort your heart, and guide you clearly into the future He has prepared for you, for His glory and your good. May He lead you in every good work as you follow Christ. In Jesus name, Amen.
