Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my future and that God leads me clearly into the right path for my life. I’m currently figuring out my education and career, and I pray that God opens the right doors for college, apprenticeships, work and my future, and gives me wisdom to make the right decisions. Please pray that my future is bright, that God blesses me with opportunities and financial stability, and that I don’t take the wrong path. Most importantly, please pray for deliverance from anything holding me back spiritually or personally, and that I grow closer to God, stay strong in my faith, and fulfil His purpose for my life. Amen.

We join you in lifting your future before the Lord and we thank you for sharing this heartfelt request with us. We hear your desire to walk clearly in God's will for your education and career and to make wise decisions about college, apprenticeships and work, and we stand with you asking Him to open the right doors and close the wrong ones.

Scripture reminds us that God has a good and purposeful plan for those who seek Him. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 We also take comfort in the promise that when we trust Him fully He will guide us. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 And He promises to instruct us personally along the way. I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you. Psalm 32:8

We want to gently encourage you about something important we noticed in your request. You prayed to God but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We share this in love because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 And Scripture tells us, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 If you have not already done so, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name in all your prayers. When we pray in Jesus name we come to God with confidence through His finished work on the cross.

We also hear your prayer for wisdom, opportunities, financial stability and deliverance from anything holding you back. God delights to give wisdom when we ask. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 We pray that He will give you clear discernment and peace as you weigh each decision, and that you will seek Him first above all else. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33 When we seek Him first, He faithfully provides for our needs. My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 We also pray for your deliverance and spiritual growth. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. James 4:8 The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Psalm 34:17

So together we pray for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. We ask that You lead clearly into the right path for life and make Your will unmistakable. Open the right doors for education, college, apprenticeships and work, and close every door that is not from You. Grant abundant wisdom to make right decisions and courage to follow Your leading even when the way is uncertain. We ask for deliverance from every spiritual and personal hindrance, from doubt, fear, discouragement or any chain that would hold back growth, and we pray for a closer walk with You each day. Strengthen faith, keep this life rooted in Your Word and prayer, and help it to fulfill the good purpose You created it for, for we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 Bless with opportunities and provide with Your gracious hand for every need, that there may be stability and generosity to bless others as well. We trust that all things work together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. Romans 8:28 We commit this future into Your loving hands and ask that it would be bright with Your presence and glory. In the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We hear how much weight you are carrying as you think about what comes next, and how sincerely you want to honor God with your education, work and future. Wanting wisdom and not wanting to miss His path is a good place to be, even when it feels uncertain.

One thing that has helped many young adults facing similar choices is to bring the big question down to smaller, prayerful steps. It can help to get the options in front of you on paper, college, apprenticeships, work, with what each would require and offer in this season, and then walk through that list with a trusted pastor, teacher or career counselor who knows you and can help you assess your gifts and opportunities. Talking with one person actually doing the kind of work you are considering can also bring a lot of clarity that praying alone does not always give. As you do that, keep bringing each step to the Lord and asking for His leading, trusting He guides us as we walk with Him, not all at once beforehand.

We are carrying you in prayer and asking God to give you peace as you take these next steps.

Father, we lift this dear one to You in Jesus name. Give clear wisdom for each decision about school and work, open the doors You want opened and close the ones You do not, and provide for daily needs. Free them from anything that holds them back and draw them closer to You each day, that they may walk in the purpose You have for them. Amen.

Your prayer for guidance has been heard and we join with you in bringing it before the throne of grace. It is a wise and good thing that you desire not merely open doors for college, apprenticeships and work, but wisdom to choose rightly and a heart kept close to God, for wisdom is the compass by which a man must steer across the trackless waste of life.

We pray that the Lord who is your loving Father will guide you with a father's care and instruct you with a father's wisdom. May He who is of one mind and whose purpose cannot be turned make His will plain to you. What His soul desireth, that He doeth, and His one great purpose shall be accomplished in your life as you bow with submission to His will, for by that very submission we are furnished with unerring guidance. Seek above all to avoid everything that is evil, for holiness is as near akin to perfect wisdom as sin is to insanity.

We ask the Lord to keep you from haste, which is the author of a great deal of mischief in human life. Divine Wisdom is dressed in robes of love and tenderness and invites you to run into her arms. That wisdom is not found in coral or pearls, for the price of wisdom is above rubies, it is found in Christ Himself, who is the power of God and the wisdom of God. He planned the way of salvation and He lays the pillars of your future. Trust in Him, for to trust in God is true wisdom.

For your future we pray with hope. He who has been your refuge in the past will certainly be your God in the future, and He will thrust out the enemy from before you. Your future shall be bright not because every path is easy, but because faith may be stronger. By the grace of God it will be firmer and more robust. Live upon that blessed future which is laid up in Christ, and be content to postpone present gain to obtain the promise of the inheritance.

We pray for deliverance from all that would hold you back spiritually or personally, that every chain may be broken and that you may grow in grace, stay strong in faith, and fulfil His purpose for your life. May the Lord bless you with honest opportunities, with diligence in labour, and with contentment and stability as He sees fit, and may all that you do answer the purpose of His own great mind.

May the eternal God be your refuge today, and may you know that He is carrying out still His one great purpose in you, according to the counsel of His will, to the praise of His glory. We commend you to Christ, in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom, that you may walk in the way of wisdom and find it to be a path of grace leading to glory. Amen.

Heavenly Father, We come to You in this season of deep grief and transition, knowing that You are the close companion of the brokenhearted and a Father to the fatherless. Thank You for holding me and my boys in the palm of Your hand since my husband passed into Your eternal presence this year...

I get the sense my future spouse is a prodigal. But I have been Christian for many years so if God wants me to be someone who is new in the faith or just coming to know Jesus I pray for grace cos a prodigal would need a lot of grace. God help me.
