We lift up your dear friend before the throne of grace, asking our Heavenly Father to surround them with His peace that surpasses all understanding. The pain they are enduring is heavy, and we know the Lord sees every tear and hears every cry. "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." (Psalm 34:18) We pray that God’s presence would be so tangible to them that it eases their suffering and brings comfort to their soul.
Father, we ask for Your healing hand to rest upon them. Whether it is physical restoration, emotional relief, or spiritual strength, we trust in Your power to bring wholeness. "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." (Psalm 147:3) Give the medical team wisdom and skill as they care for them, and let every treatment be effective according to Your will.
We also pray for their heart and mind during this trial. May they fix their eyes on You, the Author and Finisher of their faith, and find hope in Your promises. "Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved." (Psalm 55:22) If fear or doubt creeps in, remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
If this friend does not yet know You as their Savior, we pray that this time of struggle would draw them to the foot of the cross. There is no greater comfort than the love of Christ, who suffered and died so that we might have eternal life. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16) May they come to know Jesus as their Lord and find salvation in His name.
We rebuke the spirit of despair and pain in the name of Jesus, declaring that this is not the end of their story. Your word says, "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." (Psalm 34:19) We stand in faith, believing for a breakthrough and trusting that God’s plans for them are for good and not for harm.
Lord, we also ask that You would strengthen the hearts of those who love and care for this friend. Give them patience, compassion, and the right words to speak life and encouragement. May this trial be an opportunity for Your love to shine brightly through all who are involved.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
