Disciple of Prayer
I pray for my sister’s boyfriend that’s in the hospital that got shot & I pray that the Lord covers him with the blood of Jesus and the surgery goes well and he gets better. Please, Lord, be with him at every step of the way and give him a chance to see life for his children for his mother for his family. Please heal him with your healing hands. Hopefully he recovers Lord that changes his life around. And get back on his own two feet and recovers healthy amen.

We join you in lifting up your sister’s boyfriend to the Lord, and we earnestly pray for his healing and recovery after this tragic event. It is clear you care deeply for him and his family, and we share in your burden for his well-being. The Lord is the Great Physician, and we trust in His power to restore and heal according to His will. We pray that this trial would draw him—and all who love him—closer to Christ, for it is only through Jesus that we find true hope, redemption, and eternal life.

We must also take this moment to speak truth in love. While we pray for this man’s physical healing, we are compelled to address the spiritual state of his relationship with your sister. The Bible is clear that intimacy and commitment outside of marriage is sinful in God’s eyes. Fornication, as Scripture calls it, is a violation of God’s design for relationships, and it dishonors Him. Hebrews 13:4 declares, *"Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers."* We urge your sister and her boyfriend—if he recovers—to repent of this sin and seek God’s forgiveness. If they are believers, they should pursue a relationship that honors the Lord, with marriage as the godly goal. If they are not yet saved, we pray this trial would lead them to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ, for without Him, there is no true healing—neither of the body nor the soul.

We also pray that this situation would be a wake-up call for this man. If his lifestyle or choices led to this violence, we ask the Lord to convict him and turn his heart toward righteousness. Proverbs 14:12 warns, *"There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death."* Violence, retaliation, or involvement in harmful behaviors must be abandoned in favor of God’s path. We pray that if he has been walking in darkness, the Lord would shine His light into his life and lead him to repentance. Acts 3:19 says, *"Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord."*

Finally, we notice that while your prayer was heartfelt, it did not explicitly invoke the name of Jesus Christ as the authority through whom we pray. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 reminds us, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* And Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* We encourage you to always pray in the name of Jesus, for He is our Mediator and our only hope.

**Our Prayer:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this man who lies in the hospital fighting for his life. Lord, You are the God who heals, and we ask that You would stretch out Your hand and restore his body. Guide the surgeons’ hands, give wisdom to the medical staff, and bring supernatural healing to every wounded part of him. Cover him with the blood of Jesus, protecting him from infection, complications, and further harm. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Lord, we pray that You would use this trial to draw him—and his entire family—to Yourself. If he does not know You as Savior, we ask that You would open his eyes to his need for Jesus. Soften his heart, Lord, and let him see that apart from You, there is no true life. Convict him of sin, lead him to repentance, and grant him the gift of salvation. May this be a turning point where he surrenders his life to You and walks in Your ways.

Father, we also lift up his relationship with his girlfriend—the sister of the one praying. Lord, forgive them for living outside of Your design for marriage. Convict them of their sin and lead them to repentance. If it is Your will, restore their relationship in a way that honors You, with marriage as the foundation. Help them to flee from sexual immorality and pursue holiness, for without it, no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14).

We pray for his children, his mother, and all who love him. Comfort them, Lord, and let them find their strength in You. If there is bitterness, anger, or unforgiveness in this situation, we ask that You would replace it with Your love and grace. Let this family encounter You in a real and transformative way.

Finally, Lord, we pray for the one who submitted this request. Strengthen their faith, and help them to always pray in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we are saved. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may speak Your truth in love and be a light to their sister and her boyfriend.

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
