We lift up your friend and this precious unborn child before the Lord, knowing that every life is fearfully and wonderfully made by His hand. The Scriptures remind us in **Psalm 139:13-16 (WEB)**, *"For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. My frame wasn’t hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them."* This child is known and loved by God, and we pray for His divine protection and healing over both mother and baby.
We also recognize that unexpected pregnancies can bring fear, confusion, or even shame, but we must stand firmly on God’s truth. If this pregnancy occurred outside of marriage, we gently but firmly remind your friend—and all who hear—that sexual intimacy is a sacred gift reserved for the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman (**Hebrews 13:4**). Fornication is a sin that grieves the heart of God, but His grace is greater than our failures. If there is unrepentant sin, we urge your friend to turn to Christ in repentance, for *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (**1 John 1:9**). There is no shame in Christ, only redemption and hope.
If this pregnancy is at risk or has ended in loss, we mourn with your friend and pray for God’s comfort. **"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"** (**Psalm 34:18**). We ask the Lord to surround her with His peace, to heal any physical or emotional pain, and to remind her that He holds this child in His hands—whether in this life or the next. If medical care is needed, we pray for wisdom for the doctors and strength for her body.
We also pray for the father of this child, if he is known. May he step into his God-given responsibility with courage and integrity, whether that means supporting the mother, seeking marriage if they are unmarried but able, or repenting if he has abandoned his duty. **"But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever"** (**1 Timothy 5:8**).
Finally, we praise you for bringing this request before the Lord *in Jesus’ name*, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (**John 14:6**). There is no other name by which we are saved, and we are grateful you acknowledged this truth in your prayer.
**Our Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up this friend and her unborn child. Lord, if this pregnancy is in jeopardy, we ask for Your healing touch—knit this baby together in the womb and grant the mother strength. If there has been loss, comfort her with Your presence, for You collect every tear in Your bottle (**Psalm 56:8**). Convict any hearts involved in sin, and lead them to repentance and restoration. Raise up godly support around this woman—believers who will speak truth in love and point her to You. If the father is absent or unrepentant, soften his heart or remove his influence if it is harmful. Above all, let this situation bring glory to Your name, whether through redemption, healing, or the testimony of Your grace in suffering. We ask these things in the mighty name of **Jesus Christ**, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
