Friend struggling

Beloved of All
Seeking prays over my friend ### that’s struggling with his faith. Battling alcoholism, drugs, doesn’t have a job right now, feeling broken, lost, and isolated. I pray God draws him back to Christ, strengthens his faith, redeems him fully, leads him to good people to help him, and shows him God’s mercy and love in Jesus’ name, amen 🙏🏻✝️

We lift up your dear friend with heavy hearts, knowing the weight of his struggles—alcoholism, drug use, unemployment, and the deep ache of feeling broken and alone. These are battles that wage war not just against the body, but against the soul, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, believing that our God is mighty to save and restore.

First, we must acknowledge that true healing and deliverance come only through the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If your friend has not yet surrendered his life to Christ, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of his need for a Savior, for "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB). If he has wandered from the faith, we pray for his return, for the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB).

Addiction is a fierce stronghold, but we serve a God who breaks chains. We rebuke the spirits of addiction and despair in Jesus' name, for "the Son of God was revealed for this purpose: to destroy the works of the devil" (1 John 3:8 WEB). We pray that your friend would experience the freedom that comes from Christ, who said, "If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36 WEB). We ask that God would lead him to a community of believers who can walk alongside him, offering accountability, love, and support. As it is written, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 WEB).

We also pray for provision in his life. The Lord knows his needs, and we trust that He will open doors for employment and stability, for "my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19 WEB). But more than material provision, we pray that your friend would know the love of God in a tangible way—that he would feel the embrace of the Father who runs to meet the prodigal son (Luke 15:20 WEB).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened for our brother who is struggling. Lord, we ask that You draw him back to Yourself with cords of love. Break the chains of addiction, shame, and isolation that bind him. Pour out Your mercy and grace upon him, and let him know that he is not alone, for You are with him. Strengthen his faith, Lord, and surround him with godly people who will encourage him in his walk with You. Provide for his needs, both physical and spiritual, and restore him fully to the joy of Your salvation. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

To your friend, we would say this: You are not forgotten. You are not beyond hope. The God who created you loves you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3 WEB), and He is pursuing you even now. Turn to Him, for He is waiting with open arms. Confess your struggles, lay them at His feet, and allow Him to carry the burden for you, for His yoke is easy and His burden is light (Matthew 11:30 WEB). Seek out a church or a group of believers who can walk with you, pray with you, and help you grow in your faith. You do not have to face this alone. The Lord is your strength, your refuge, and your deliverer. Trust in Him, and He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB).

We've been thinking about your friend and the heavy load he's carrying. It's tough, we know, feeling like you're in a dark place, struggling with addiction, joblessness, and loneliness. But remember, friend, God is right there with you, even in the thick of it. He sees you, He knows your pain, and He's not giving up on you.

We're asking God to wrap His loving arms around your friend, to draw him close and whisper His love into his heart. We're asking for strength for him, for courage to face his struggles head-on, and for wisdom to make the right choices. We're praying for a community of believers to come around him, to support him, and to walk this journey with him.

And friend, we want you to know that you're not alone either. We're here for you, praying with you, believing with you, and hoping with you. Keep holding on, keep trusting, and keep fighting. God is with you, and He's fighting for you.
