Pray ### goes back to church. He sinned with another woman. He is ### and always served God. Pray he confesses, apologizes to me and we get back together. Thanks

We lift up your burden with you and we bring your friend before the Lord together in Jesus name. We hear your desire for him to repent, to return to fellowship, to confess what he has done and to seek reconciliation with you, and we join you in praying for true repentance and restoration according to God's will.

We must speak plainly about the sin you described. When a man has sexual relations with a woman who is not his wife, Scripture calls this fornication if he is unmarried, or adultery if he is married, and both are sin before a holy God. We are told to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body, 1 Corinthians 6:18. Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers, Hebrews 13:4. Even one who has served God faithfully can fall, and that fall must be addressed not excused. Godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, which brings no regret, but the sorrow of the world produces death, 2 Corinthians 7:10. True repentance will bear fruit, and it includes confession and forsaking sin, for he who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy, Proverbs 28:13, and if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9. We pray your friend will not hide or minimize what he has done, but will confess to God and to those he has sinned against, and will turn fully from that sin.

We also want to encourage you in biblical understanding about relationships. In God's design, a relationship between a man and a woman is courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, not simply a partnership or dating without purpose. A godly marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman that honors Christ, and we are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, 2 Corinthians 6:14. Being a boyfriend or girlfriend should be seen as pursuing a spouse for a Christ centered marriage. Sex before or outside of marriage is never God's will, and forgiveness does not automatically mean resuming a courtship without clear evidence of repentance, accountability, pastoral counsel, and a renewed commitment to purity. We pray that if God wills for you to be reconciled, it would be on a foundation of holiness, honesty, and a shared desire to honor the Lord in marriage, and we pray you will guard your heart and seek wise counsel in your church as you discern this.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, that we are saved, Romans 10:9. So we pray in His name and we encourage you to place all your hope and requests in Christ alone.

We pray together now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You for this dear friend who has sinned and wandered from fellowship. Lord, grant him godly sorrow that leads to true repentance. Bring conviction by Your Holy Spirit, draw him back to Yourself, cleanse him through the blood of Jesus as he confesses, and restore to him the joy of Your salvation, Psalm 51:12. Father, stir him to confess humbly before You and to apologize sincerely to the one he has hurt, and to forsake this sin completely. If it is Your will, bring healing and reconciliation, but only in purity and in a way that honors marriage and Your holiness. Call him back to Your church, for we are not to forsake our own assembling together, Hebrews 10:25, and surround him with godly counsel and accountability. Comfort the one who was hurt, give wisdom, peace, and discernment to know Your will, and help both to walk in holiness and in forgiveness as You in Christ forgave us, Ephesians 4:32. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray, to remain in the Word, to seek pastoral guidance, and to trust the Lord to work in His timing. We pray God will strengthen you, guard your heart, and lead both of you into His perfect will, whether that is restored courtship leading to a godly marriage or healing and peace apart, always for His glory.

We were so sorry to read what you are carrying. When someone you care about and respect stumbles in this way, it brings a mix of grief, disappointment and hope all at once, and we hear your desire for him to turn back to the Lord and make things right.

We admire that your first concern is his walk with God and his return to church, not just your own hurt. That kind of care matters. At the same time what happened has wounded you too, and healing for both of you will take time and honesty. Real repentance shows itself over time, and rebuilding trust, if God leads that way, also takes time and wise counsel around you both.

One steady step that often helps is to stay rooted in your own church community while you pray. Keep meeting with a pastor or trusted mentor you know, share honestly how you are doing, and let them walk with you as you discern what is wise next. You do not have to figure out the future of the relationship alone.

Father, we lift this man to You and we lift our friend who wrote to us. Work in his heart to draw him back to You, bring conviction and a desire for honest confession, and surround him with people who will point him to You. Comfort and strengthen the one who was hurt, give wisdom for each next conversation and decision, and lead both according to Your will. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your sorrow has been heard, and we take it before the Lord with you, for the wound of unfaithfulness cuts deep and only the great Physician can heal it.

We do not pray lightly in such a matter, for Scripture teaches that sin against purity is sin against the holy and glorious God before it is sin against any creature. You ask that this man may truly repent, and that is the right burden. Yet we must remember that repentance is not a thing done once at the beginning and then forgotten. Repentance lives as long as faith lives. There is a carnal repentance that is of the flesh, wrought by fear or by judgment, and there is a true repentance which is the work of the Holy Spirit in the renewed heart. That true repentance gives God glory. It does not excuse sin, it owns it fully, and it looks out of self to Christ and to Christ only.

David remembered that under the Law there was no sacrifice appointed for adultery. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart. If your friend would know whether his repentance is of the right sort, let him ask, does it make him weep and abhor his past life because of the love of Christ who pardons, and does it make him avoid present sin because of the love of God who died for him. True repentance will yield works meet for repentance. It will be practical and it will last, and it will make a rainbow with tears of grief for sin and glances of hope at the finished work of Christ.

And there is forgiveness with God, that He may be feared. If confession has not yet been made, confession must come before absolution. But oh, what mercy, there is forgiveness, even for adultery, even for the chief of sinners, through Jesus Christ alone. Under the Law there was no cleansing for such sin, but in the blood of Christ there is a full and complete and eternal forgiveness. He has no buts in His forgiveness. When a soul makes a clean breast in confession, He gives a clean breast by absolution. If this man trembles and with a penitent heart desires forgiveness, let him look to Christ on Calvary, for there is forgiveness with Him, now, at this moment, for all who come believing.

We will pray for him, that the Lord would grant him repentance unto life, that he would confess his sin plainly before God and before those he has wounded, and that he would return to the fellowship of the church not as a form but as a humble seeker after holiness, under the care of faithful pastors. We will pray for you also, that the Lord would guard your heart, and teach you that to forgive as God in Christ has forgiven you is your calling, while to restore trust and to walk together again is a matter that requires wisdom, time, counsel, and purity.

We cannot ask God to bless a reunion that would continue outside His holy order. Marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all that belongs to the marriage bed belongs only within it. To live together or to share the privileges of marriage without that covenant is not love in God's sight, but further sin. If the Lord should will that you walk together again, let it be in holiness, with clear confession, with apology truly made, with a turning from all impurity, and with counsel of your church, that if you are joined, it be in the Lord and according to His Word. If it be not His will, may He give you grace to accept it and to walk in chastity and peace.

Let us pray together. O Lord, Thou God of all grace, we confess that if Thou shouldest mark iniquities, none of us could stand, but there is forgiveness with Thee. Grant to this man a broken and contrite heart, a repentance that needs not to be repented of, that looks to Jesus and hates sin because it laid sorrow upon Him. Restore him to Thyself through the blood of Christ, and restore him to Thy house in humility. Grant to this wounded one comfort, discernment, and strength to forgive as Thou hast forgiven, and to seek not her own will but Thine. Lead them both in the path of holiness, and let Thy will be done in their lives, for Thy glory and their good, through Jesus Christ our only Saviour. Amen.
