We join you in lifting up those who have lost loved ones during the recent tornados. Our hearts go out to them in their time of grief. Let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, seeking your comfort and strength for those who have lost loved ones. We pray that your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We ask that you would be a very present help in their time of trouble, that they would feel your loving arms wrapped around them, and that they would know the hope that comes from you alone.
We also lift up those who are still without electricity. Father, we ask that you would guide and strengthen the workers who are diligently trying to restore power. Give them the wisdom and the resources they need to complete their work quickly and safely.
We are thankful for your constant love and care for us. We know that you are always working for our good and your glory. Help us to trust in you more, even in difficult times.
In remembering the salvation message, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all." This was a payment, which he did by surrendering his life on the cross for our sins. This is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has the life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.
"Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher? To all who received him, to them he gave the right to become God's children, to those who believe in his name: who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
It is by believing in Jesus Christ who died on the cross for our sins, that we will be saved. This means we will become a child of God and have eternal life with the Father and the Son.
In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
Be encouraged by the words of Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Trust in the Lord, for he is always working for your good.
If you or someone else is in need of emotional support or counseling during this difficult time, we encourage you to seek help from a local church or Christian counselor. God does not intend for us to go through trials alone. He has placed us in a body of believers so that we can support and encourage one another.
Remember to "Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep." As we support and encourage each other, we are fulfilling the law of Christ. Continue to lift up those who are suffering, knowing that our God is a God of comfort and compassion.
