We stand with you in this time of great trial and oppression, lifting up the people of Venezuela before the throne of grace. Your cry for freedom is heard, and we join our voices with yours, praying that the Lord would break every chain of tyranny and fear that binds your nation. The Word of God declares, "For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father!’" (Romans 8:15). Fear does not come from God, and we rebuke it in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
We pray for courage to rise within the hearts of the Venezuelan people, that they would not be paralyzed by the spirit of intimidation but emboldened by the Holy Spirit to stand firm in truth and justice. The Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We ask that He would stir within you a holy boldness to peacefully resist oppression, to speak truth, and to seek righteous governance. May the Lord raise up godly leaders who will shepherd the nation with integrity, wisdom, and a heart for the people.

The cry of your heart rises before the throne of the Most High, for it is He alone who breaks the oppressor’s rod and brings down the proud. Yet you speak of a double fear, the dread of the tyrant’s shadow and the longing for courage to rise against him. Listen, then, to the voice of your Lord, who declares again and again, “Fear not.” This is not a gentle suggestion, but a command from Christ Himself: “Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell.” The fear of men brings a snare, and that snare has so entangled many feet that they stumble into bitterness and rash deeds. The fear you feel is natural to our fallen flesh, but it must be overcome by a greater fear, the holy awe of a forgiven sinner who trembles to offend his Redeemer.
You ask for bravery to go into the streets and fight until victory. Consider Daniel: he faced the lion’s den with unblinking courage, not because he trusted in his own arm, but because he had looked first into the face of his God. His boldness sprang from a life of prayer, from a heart that feared only the Most High. The same Spirit who shut the lions’ mouths can give you a courage that is not mere human recklessness, but a heavenly calm. That Spirit does not drive you to trust in the sword, for our warfare is not with flesh and blood. The weapons of our battle are not carnal; they are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. You speak of defeating and removing those in power, but remember that the heart of every ruler is in the Lord’s hand, and He turns it wherever He wills. The cry of your land rises heavy, yet consider the true freedom which the cross of our Lord has purchased for all who believe. For “ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.” The price is the cross, and that cross is the sign of our common freedom. When you sign yourself with it, fill your soul with courage, make it free. No earthly tyrant can bind the one who despises death and knows that for the redeemed, death is become a sleep. Fear not those fearful things if God is mighty; take courage from the blood of Christ, not from visions of overthrowing men by force.
Look to the apostles, who when commanded to be silent said, “We cannot but speak the things we have seen and heard.” This was courage, this was boldness, not the audacity of an unbridled tongue, but the rebuke of the prophets against sin. The chains of Paul gleamed with greater grace than any gold, for his bonds drew up from earth to heaven while he testified before rulers. Will you go out to fight and defeat them? See what the Lord said of Ananias trembling before Paul: the very one who came to bind believers would himself suffer many things for Christ’s name. The true victory is not seizing power but bearing witness with a soul made free from the love of this life.

The root of our fear is that we make the concerns of others foreign to us, or that our love toward Christ is too weak. When that love is intense, no sin remains; all vice is cast out. Let your courage be born not of wrath but of that love which expels fear, walking in the steps of Him who went as a sheep to the slaughter, and who now calls the dead to awake.

The cry for freedom rising from Venezuela is not unheard in heaven. God sees the oppression, the sorrow, and the fear that grips hearts. Yet the question becomes: what kind of freedom are we truly seeking, and from what source will our courage flow?
True freedom is found in Jesus Christ. He came to open the prison to those who are bound, to release captives from a far deeper tyranny than any human government. Political chains are real, but the chains of sin and the fear of death are ultimate. Until a soul is set free by the Son, no change in rulers brings lasting liberty. The one who fears the Lord discovers a freedom no dictator can take. That fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. It means hating evil, revering God’s power, and loving what He loves. It is not a cringing terror but a holy awe that reorders every other fear.
Do you see? Fear of man and fear of the Lord cannot occupy the same space. When fear of the enemy dominates, faith is driven out. Fear and faith are mutually exclusive. The enemy uses threats to paralyze and provoke unwise reactions. Nehemiah’s adversaries tried to frighten him so he would act in panic and ruin the work. But he refused to let fear steer his decisions. He remembered the Lord, who is great and awesome, and kept building. The cure for fear is remembering God’s presence. David said, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.” The Lord is your light and salvation; of whom shall you be afraid? He is the stronghold of your life.
Bravery that endures is not summoned from adrenaline or anger. It is the fruit of the Spirit’s work within. The Holy Spirit does not breed a spirit of timidity or panic. He supplies power, love, and a sound mind. When God told Joshua to be strong and very courageous, He did not point to military strategy. He pointed to His own unbreakable promise: “I am with you wherever you go.” That consciousness of God’s nearness dispels fear. When your eyes fix on the size of the threat, anxiety swells. When they fix on the Lord, courage rises.

Do not be afraid of sudden fear or the desolation that comes upon the wicked. The Lord will be your confidence. He will keep your foot from being taken. But those who wait on the Lord and walk in the fear of Him find themselves hidden in His pavilion in the day of trouble.
