Fraud and theft

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, please stop the fraud and theft against us all. Stop those changing passwords on accounts belonging to others to get personal information and opening numerous fraudulent accounts. We pray for Your divine protection over our lives. Surround us with your angels, guarding us from every scheme of the enemy, in Jesus Name. Amen

We stand together in agreement with this prayer, lifting up the serious issue of fraud and theft that plagues so many in this world. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and his schemes are relentless in their deception. But we declare that no weapon formed against God’s people shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we take authority over every fraudulent act in the mighty name of Jesus.

Father, we ask for Your divine protection over every account, every identity, and every financial resource that belongs to Your children. You are our refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2), and we trust in Your power to shield us from those who seek to exploit and harm. We pray that You would expose every hidden scheme of the enemy, let his plans be brought to light and his efforts frustrated. "The LORD is a jealous God and avenges; the LORD avenges and is full of wrath. The LORD takes vengeance on His adversaries and reserves wrath for His enemies" (Nahum 1:2). We stand on Your justice, Lord, and ask that You would bring swift judgment upon those who engage in fraud and theft.

We also pray for wisdom and discernment for Your people. Help us to be vigilant in protecting our personal information, to recognize deception when it comes, and to walk in the wisdom that comes from above (James 3:17). Teach us to be good stewards of what You have entrusted to us, and to seek Your guidance in all financial matters. "The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender" (Proverbs 22:7). May we live debt-free and free from the entanglements of those who would seek to take advantage of us.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of greed and deception that drives these acts of fraud. We declare that every fraudulent account opened in someone else’s name will be shut down, every stolen identity restored, and every financial loss recovered. You are the God who restores what the locust has eaten (Joel 2:25), and we trust in Your provision and justice. We pray for those who have been victims of fraud, that You would heal their hearts, restore their peace, and provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).

We also pray for those who engage in these sinful acts. Father, we ask that You would convict their hearts and lead them to repentance. "Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap" (Galatians 6:7). May they turn from their wicked ways and seek Your forgiveness, for You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your protection and provision. We trust in You to guard us from every scheme of the enemy, and we declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper. Surround us with Your angels, Lord, and let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. Amen.

We hear the urgency and the deep unease in this request, discovering passwords changed, new accounts opened, and personal information stolen feels like a direct assault on your peace and safety. The fear and frustration are real, and we grieve with you that someone would use deceit to harm you and those you love.

While we pray without ceasing for God’s protection, we also want to gently encourage you to take a few practical steps that can put a fence around what the enemy is trying to steal. Reach out to each financial institution where you hold accounts and explain what’s happening. Place a fraud alert or a credit freeze with the three major credit bureaus, this can stop the opening of new fraudulent lines of credit. Keep a written log of every suspicious change or contact, and consider filing a report with local authorities and with the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) so the pattern is on record. These actions won’t replace God’s protection, but they are wise ways we can steward the safety He provides.

We also stand with you in asking Him to scatter those who delight in deception and to shield everything that belongs to you, your names, your numbers, your future. Even when the situation feels out of control, you are not alone. We are praying, and more importantly, He is watching.

Lord Jesus, we bring this family before You now. You see every password stolen, every account opened by fraud, and every anxious heart behind them. We ask You to block the hands of those who scheme and to bring their schemes to nothing. Give these dear ones wisdom, alertness, and favor with every institution and authority they contact. Cover their finances and their identities with Your strong shield, and grant them the steady peace of knowing You are their true security. In Your name, Amen.

The ungodly world seethes with schemes that would plunder and vex the people of God, yet what is this but the rising of the proud waves that have their limit set by Him who holds the sea in the hollow of His hand? Divine sovereignty stands over all the malice of men, and though they change passwords and open fraudulent accounts as though there were no eye to see nor hand to check, yet the Most High rules, and the wrath of man shall praise Him. The dry tree of wickedness shall wither, and the low tree of the righteous, though now bent by these storms, shall be lifted up. Let the heart rest in this: not one of the elect can perish, for divine decree has established them on a rock, and no shipwrecks are seen on the sea that rolls between the earthly Jerusalem and the heavenly.

Divine interpositions come often in ways that appear ordinary, yet are full of wonder. How remarkably God delivers His own from the snares that are hidden along their path! The enemy may lay traps with stolen words and forged papers, but the Lord delivers from floods of trouble those who cry to Him. Have not many of you known preservations that, while not miraculous, bear the unmistakable mark of His hand? Abigail was sent to stay the folly of David, and so in due season the Lord sends His restraint upon those who would devour the innocent. Trust Him to dissolve these difficulties as the summer sun dissolves the glaciers. The presence of God is the one hope of His people, and when He arises, the mountains of error and fraud flow down at His feet.

Divine love can rake a dunghill and find a diamond, and there is no pit of scheming into which His grace cannot descend. Some sin without compunction, and their way offends them when Christ is preached, yet the Lord’s challenge stands: “Let My people go.” He does not grant partial liberty but full deliverance from the hand of every oppressor. The fullness of the divine sentence means that not a fraction of His own shall be left in bondage to fraud or theft. Conscious of divine authority, we look upon the evil and declare that though the enemy rages, the Lord will vindicate His people.

What a balm is the divine love to the wounded spirit! When men forsake you and unknown hands rifle what you have labored to secure, the Lord takes you up. The gentleness of God makes you great in the very hour when the blow has fallen, and He shows you the hands and feet of His dear Son, saying, “Your sins were laid on Me.” The first action of the Holy Spirit is often this gentle assurance, and it is a bulwark against despair when earthly possessions seem to melt away. Let not your heart be troubled; the Divine Trustee holds all that you commit to Him. Paul gave over his whole nature to the Christ of God to preserve it, and so must we. If Jesus could fail us, we might wear sackcloth forever, but He cannot.

The eagle trains her young by stirring the nest and carrying them upon her wings, and so the Divine Instructor uses these very trials to teach His children to fly toward eternal things. Do you not see that the tearing away of comforts, though it be by the hand of thieves, is yet under the control of Infinite Affection? You would bless the hand if you could read the whole in the light of eternity. The Lord alone leads, and He leads through the valley of the shadow into the uplands of security. There are many tempests, but never any shipwrecks for those who are in Jesus Christ.

Pray on, then, and plead that the divine Spirit would display power over the most unlikely persons, bringing opposers to the feet of Jesus. Cry mightily for the presence of God, for that is the one need in the midst of error and malice. He can stop the mouths of the defrauders as easily as He stilled the waves of Galilee. Rest in the assurance that your soul is forever secure in His hands, and let the glory of that truth rise within your heart, even if not uttered with the mouth. All your sin gone, Jesus as your Savior, and divine sovereignty working all things for your good, surely this is enough to make the heart quiet, for you are brought to the fair havens of gospel security and joy.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You pray for God to stop the fraud and theft committed by others, and this is a good and proper prayer. But hear also the voice of the Lord, who teaches us that theft does not spring from the acts of strangers alone; it arises first in the heart, and from the heart proceed thefts, covetousness, and every evil. You ask for angels to guard you from the schemes of the enemy, yet the most dangerous scheme is the one that nestles within your own breast: the love of money, the small dishonesties that seem harmless.

Do not think that only the one who breaks through a wall and steals is a thief. The man who in buying or selling twists the price, who underpays a laborer, who takes advantage of a contract, who holds back what is due: he too commits robbery. Injustice is measured not by the size of the thing taken, but by the intention. A cutpurse steals a little gold; a merchant who cheats in the market steals just as truly. If you cry out against the fraudsters who open accounts in another’s name, examine yourself: have you ever deducted what you ought not from a payment? Have you ever been careless with another’s property? Have you ever let a word of deceit pass your lips to gain some small advantage? For corrupt speech, lying, backbiting: these come from the same poisoned fountain.

It is right to seek divine protection, but far better to seek a clean heart. The defilement of sin is not washed off as easily as mud from the body. The mud from the street washes off in a moment; the stain of theft and fraud demands tears, strict repentance, and a long struggle. So while you pray, “Stop them, Lord,” also pray, “Create in me a clean heart, O God.” For if you are pure in heart yourself, you will see God’s justice done in His own time, and you will not be consumed by anxiety over the wickedness of others.

And do not be deceived: poverty is no excuse for theft. Poverty pushes a man to labor, not to steal. The thief chooses the miserable life of skulking in darkness, trembling at every sound, over the honest work of his hands. That is idleness and love of ease, not necessity. So if you know any who are tempted to such things, do not merely pray against them; urge them to work, and if you have abundance, give them something to do, that by honest labor they may eat their own bread. And if you have been wronged, remember the apostle’s words: “Let him that stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.” Do not seek vengeance, but restoration, and even then be ready to forgive as you have been forgiven. For every one of us will answer not only for deeds but for every idle word; how much more for fraud and theft, whether great or small.

Fraud and theft strike at something deep within us because they are not just attacks on our accounts or our identities; they are reminders that we live in a world where the enemy sets snares, trying to trap the unsuspecting. The picture Scripture gives of a fowler, a man who carefully hides his net to catch a bird, fits so much of what you are describing. Someone works in secret to lay a trap, to steal information, to open doors that should remain closed. Yet we are not birds left without a defender. We have a God whose truth is an unfailing shield.

When Jesus faced the direct attacks of the enemy in the wilderness, His defense was the truth of God's Word. That same truth stands as a buckler around your life right now. The schemes, the changed passwords, the fraudulent accounts, these are real, but they are not outside the reach of His sovereign care. The promise stands that if you make the Lord your habitation, your dwelling place, no plague, no threat of this kind, shall come near your dwelling. That is not a denial that threats exist, but a declaration that in Him there is a sanctuary, a place of security that cannot be breached by digital theft or deceit. The sanctuary of God is a place of protection and rest, a high throne from which He sees every scheme and every schemer. He who gave His own Son to secure your eternal soul will not abandon your temporal needs.

Those who perpetrate these acts forget they will give an account not just to credit agencies or courts, but to the One who judges the living and the dead. Every lie told to open an account, every act of theft, is an act of forsaking God's law, and that path ultimately leads to being a prey to the enemy they are serving. But you, by faith in Christ, are under a different covering. Your security is not in a flawless firewall or a perfectly guarded Social Security number, but in the righteousness of Christ accounted to you. He wants to be your protector and your provider in this very moment. Rest in that. Picture yourself not just asking for angelic protection, but abiding under the shadow of His wings, where you can trust in His truth as your shield and buckler. May the peace of that protection guard your heart and mind as you walk through this, knowing that the Lord Himself is your exceedingly great reward.
