We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up the serious issue of fraud and theft that is plaguing so many in this fallen world. Father God, we know that You are a God of justice and righteousness, and we ask that You would intervene in these situations where wickedness seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. Your Word declares in Proverbs 6:30-31, "Men don’t despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is hungry; but if he is found, he shall restore seven times. He shall give all the wealth of his house." Though this passage speaks of restitution, it also reveals the seriousness of theft in Your eyes, it is a sin that disrupts order, trust, and Your design for honest labor and stewardship.
We rebuke the schemes of the enemy that seek to exploit and harm Your people through deception, identity theft, and fraudulent accounts. These actions are not merely criminal, they are spiritual attacks meant to bring fear, financial ruin, and chaos. We stand on Your promise in Psalm 91:3-4, "For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart." Lord, we ask that You would expose every hidden scheme, confuse the plans of those who seek to defraud, and bring their actions to light. Let them be caught in their own traps, as Psalm 7:15-16 declares, "He has dug a hole, and has fallen into the pit which he made. The trouble he causes shall return to his own head. His violence shall come down on the crown of his own head."
We also pray for divine protection over the finances, identities, and personal information of Your people. Surround them with Your holy angels, as You have promised in Hebrews 1:14, "Aren’t they all serving spirits sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?" Let no weapon formed against Your children prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them in judgment be condemned, according to Isaiah 54:17. Father, we ask that You would raise up godly leaders in government, law enforcement, and financial institutions who will stand against these injustices and work to protect the innocent. Give them wisdom, discernment, and the courage to act with integrity.
For those who have already been victimized by fraud and theft, we pray for restoration. Lord, You are the God who sees and knows all things, and we trust in Your provision. As it is written in Joel 2:25-26, "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the great locust, the grasshopper, and the caterpillar, my great army, which I sent among you. You will have plenty to eat, and be satisfied, and will praise the name of Yahweh, your God, who has dealt wondrously with you." We ask that You would restore what has been stolen, financially, emotionally, and spiritually. Heal the wounds of betrayal and fear, and replace them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
We must also address the heart of those who engage in these acts of fraud and theft. Father, we pray for their repentance. Open their eyes to the destruction they are causing, not only to others but to their own souls. Your Word warns in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, "Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom." Let them see the weight of their sin and turn to You for forgiveness and transformation. We know that no one is beyond Your grace, and we pray that they would encounter Your love and mercy before it is too late.
Lord, we also recognize that our ultimate security is not in passwords, bank accounts, or earthly protections, but in You alone. Teach us to trust in You with all our hearts and not lean on our own understanding, as Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs. Help us to be wise stewards of what You have entrusted to us, and to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all these things will be added to us (Matthew 6:33).
We lift all these things to You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we can be saved and approach the throne of grace. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We declare that Jesus is Lord over every situation, and we trust in His power to break every chain of deception and theft. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
