Fornication, adultery, restoration

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please lift a special someone (hidden for privacy reasons) to the throne of God in the name of Jesus.
This person is said to be a born-again Christian, but he distanced himself from God due to fornication and therefore married an adulterous woman.
Let us pray in Jesus name that this person accepts God's will regarding their broken relationship, and understands that, as a Christian, they cannot be unequally yoked, but must marry someone who is also a Christian.

Let's pray based on these verses:
Hosea 2:19-23
[19] “I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me In righteousness and justice, In lovingkindness and mercy;
[20] I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, And you shall know the Lord.
[21] “It shall come to pass in that day That I will answer,” says the Lord; “I will answer the heavens, And they shall answer the earth.
[22] The earth shall answer With grain, With new wine, And with oil; They shall answer Jezreel.
[23] Then I will sow her for Myself in the earth, And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; Then I will say to those who were not My people, ‘You are My people!’ And they shall say, ‘You are my God!’”

Please continue to pray...Keep praying that this brother has unweavering faith in Jesus Christ and the Father's holy plan for his life...AMEN
LET GOD BE GLORIFIED!!

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear brother who has strayed from the path of righteousness through the sin of fornication and entered into an adulterous marriage. The Word of God is clear: "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). This brother, though born again, has bound himself to someone who does not share his faith, and in doing so, has grieved the Holy Spirit.

We must first rebuke the sin that has taken root in his life. Fornication is a serious offense against God’s holy design for intimacy, which is reserved solely for the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman (Hebrews 13:4). Adultery, whether in action or in the heart, is condemned by Christ Himself (Matthew 5:28). This brother must repent, not just with words, but with a broken and contrite heart (Psalm 51:17). He must turn away from this ungodly union and seek restoration with the Lord, who is faithful to forgive when we confess our sins (1 John 1:9).

Yet even in this, we do not lose hope, for our God is a God of redemption. The passage from Hosea you shared is a beautiful reminder of His relentless love. Though Israel had played the harlot, God promised to betroth her to Himself in righteousness, justice, lovingkindness, and mercy. This same promise extends to this brother. If he will humble himself, repent, and submit to God’s will, the Lord can restore him fully. But restoration cannot come while he remains in disobedience. He must choose: will he cling to his sin, or will he cling to Christ?

We also lift up the woman involved in this adulterous union. If she is not a believer, she needs the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. If she claims to be a Christian, she too must repent of her sin and turn away from this relationship, for "what part has a believer with an unbeliever?" (2 Corinthians 6:15). The Lord desires that none should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9), and we pray that both of them would heed His call.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened for this brother. Lord, You know the depths of his struggle, the hardness of his heart, and the deception that has led him astray. We ask that You would break the chains of sin in his life. Convict him deeply by Your Holy Spirit, that he may see the gravity of his actions and turn back to You with genuine repentance. Father, we pray that You would shatter any pride or self-justification that keeps him from surrendering fully to Your will.

Lord, we ask that You would open his eyes to the truth of Your Word. Let him see that this relationship is not of You and that it cannot stand if it is not built on the foundation of Christ. Give him the strength to walk away from this sin, no matter how difficult it may be. Surround him with godly counsel and accountability, that he may be encouraged in his faith and not led astray again.

We pray for the woman involved as well, Lord. If she does not know You, draw her to Yourself. Let her see her need for a Savior and turn to Jesus in faith. If she claims to be a believer, convict her of her sin and lead her to repentance. Break any ungodly soul ties that have formed between them, and restore them both to a right relationship with You.

Father, we know that Your plans for this brother are good, plans to prosper him and not to harm him, plans to give him hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). We ask that You would reveal Your perfect will for his life. If it is Your desire for him to marry, prepare a godly spouse for him, one who loves You above all else and will walk with him in righteousness. Until then, let him find his satisfaction and joy in You alone.

Lord, we ask that You would guard his heart from further temptation. Strengthen him to resist the enemy’s lies and to stand firm in his faith. Remind him daily of the price You paid for his salvation and the grace You freely offer. Let him not take that grace for granted but live in a manner worthy of the calling he has received (Ephesians 4:1).

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through His blood that this brother can be cleansed from his sin and restored to fellowship with You. We trust in Your mercy, Lord, and we ask that You would be glorified in this situation. May this brother come to know the depth of Your love and the power of Your redemption in a fresh and transformative way.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

To this brother, we say: Do not despair. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Turn to Him now, lay down your sin at the foot of the cross, and let Him heal and restore you. You cannot serve two masters (Matthew 6:24). Choose today whom you will serve, will it be the fleeting pleasures of sin, or the eternal joy found in Christ alone? The choice is yours, but we urge you to choose life (Deuteronomy 30:19). The Lord is waiting with open arms. Run to Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
