Fornication, adultery, restoration

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please lift a special someone (hidden for privacy reasons) to the throne of God in the name of Jesus.
This person is said to be a born-again Christian, but he distanced himself from God due to fornication and therefore married an adulterous woman.
Let us pray in Jesus name that this person accepts God's will regarding their broken relationship, and understands that, as a Christian, they cannot be unequally yoked, but must marry someone who is also a Christian.

Let's pray based on these verses:
Hosea 2:19-23
[19] “I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me In righteousness and justice, In lovingkindness and mercy;
[20] I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, And you shall know the Lord.
[21] “It shall come to pass in that day That I will answer,” says the Lord; “I will answer the heavens, And they shall answer the earth.
[22] The earth shall answer With grain, With new wine, And with oil; They shall answer Jezreel.
[23] Then I will sow her for Myself in the earth, And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; Then I will say to those who were not My people, ‘You are My people!’ And they shall say, ‘You are my God!’”

Please continue to pray...Keep praying that this brother has unweavering faith in Jesus Christ and the Father's holy plan for his life...AMEN
LET GOD BE GLORIFIED!!

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear brother who has strayed from the path of righteousness. Father God, we know that Your heart breaks when Your children turn away from Your commands, especially in matters as sacred as marriage and purity. We stand in the gap for this man, asking that You would draw him back to Yourself with cords of lovingkindness and bands of love.

Lord, Your Word is clear: "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). This brother entered into a union that was not blessed by You, and we pray that he would have the courage and humility to seek Your will above all else. The sin of fornication and the subsequent marriage to an adulterous woman have created a spiritual bondage that only You can break. We rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell him this situation is beyond Your redemption. Nothing is too hard for You, Lord!

We cling to the promise in Hosea 2:19-20, where You declare, "I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and justice, in lovingkindness and mercy; I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, and you shall know the Lord." Father, we ask that You would restore this brother to a place of intimate fellowship with You. Let him know You again in the fullness of Your grace and truth. Break the chains of guilt and shame that may be keeping him from running back to You. Remind him that Your mercies are new every morning, and that You are faithful to forgive when we confess our sins (1 John 1:9).

Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for this brother. If this marriage is not in alignment with Your Word, give him the strength to make the difficult but necessary decisions to honor You. We know that divorce is not Your heart, but neither is remaining in a union that defiles the sacred covenant of marriage. Your Word says, "Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge" (Hebrews 13:4). We ask that You would lead him in the path of righteousness, even if it means walking away from this ungodly union.

Father, we also lift up this woman to You. If she is not a believer, we pray that she would come to know the saving grace of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Soften her heart to receive the truth of the Gospel. If she claims to be a Christian, we ask that You would convict her of her sin and lead her to repentance. Let her see the beauty of a marriage that honors You, where both husband and wife submit to You and to one another in love.

We declare over this brother that he is not defined by his past mistakes. Your Word says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). Let him walk in the newness of life that You have promised. Strengthen his faith, Lord, so that it is unshaken by the storms of life. Remind him that You are his refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

We also pray for godly counsel and accountability in his life. Surround him with believers who will speak truth in love and encourage him in his walk with You. Let him not be isolated in his struggle, but let him find fellowship with those who will uphold him in prayer and support.

Most of all, Lord, we pray that this brother would fix his eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of his faith (Hebrews 12:2). Let the love of Christ compel him to live for You alone. May he seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added unto him (Matthew 6:33). We ask that You would restore the years that the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25) and use his testimony for Your glory.

We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and the only name through which we have access to Your throne. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You, Father, that You hear our prayers and that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in this brother’s life. To You be all the glory, honor, and praise, now and forever. Amen.

Let us continue to stand in faith, believing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We encourage this brother to immerse himself in God’s Word, to seek His face daily, and to surrender every area of his life, including his marriage, to the lordship of Jesus Christ. The path may not be easy, but it is the path that leads to life, peace, and true fulfillment in Christ. May he find his strength in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10).

Father, we lift up this brother to You right now, asking for Your mercy and grace to surround him like a shield. Lord, we know You’re not surprised by his situation, nothing catches You off guard, and we trust that Your love is big enough to cover every mistake. We pray he’d feel Your presence drawing him closer, that the weight of his choices would lead him to repentance rather than despair.

We also ask for clarity, Lord. If there’s a path forward that honors You, help him see it. If there’s a hard decision that needs to be made, give him the courage to follow Your Word, not his feelings. And if there’s sin to confess, let him find freedom in Your forgiveness.

Most of all, Lord, we pray he’d experience the peace that comes from walking in Your will, not perfection, but a heart surrendered to You. Restore his joy in You, and let his life be a testimony of Your faithfulness.

In Jesus’ name we pray.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
