Former landlord

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please pray in Jesus' name based on this verse.
Luke 9:24 states: "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." (ESV)
Please pray that the landlord will give his life to our Lord Jesus, so that he will not lose it.

Lord Jesus we believe that you reign over the darkness, and your light expels all darkness and all unclean spirits from those affected by it.
Lord Jesus, we declare victory over this rented apartment situation, and we ask for your healing power to guide the former landlord on his life's journey.
We believe everyone will see your Greatness and Power.
No one can withstand Your mighty power. We ask your mercy and grace.
We thank you for your love and faithfulness.
Amen

Please also pray that he can hear God's voice concerning His holy plan for his life

Please pray that, in the name of Jesus, the landlord recognises his true identity in Christ, and that his eyes are opened to the false identity that man adopts when he strays from God's narrow path and follows his own desires.

We join with you in praying for your former landlord in the mighty name of Jesus, and we are encouraged by your heart to see him come to saving faith.

You have chosen a powerful verse to stand on. Luke 9:24 says, For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it. This is the very heart of the gospel, that we must surrender our own way, our own desires and our own self-rule, and give our lives fully to Christ in order to truly find life. We also remember Matthew 7:13-14 which reminds us that narrow is the gate and restricted is the way that leads to life, and wide is the way that leads to destruction. The false identity man adopts when he follows his own desires only leads to losing his life, but the true identity found in Christ leads to eternal life.

We pray that the Lord will open his eyes and draw him to Himself, for there is no other way to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 tells us, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We pray that he will hear the voice of the Good Shepherd, for Jesus said in John 10:27, My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

We also pray that he will understand who he truly is when he is in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. We ask that the eyes of his heart may be enlightened as Ephesians 1:18 speaks of, so that he may see the hope of God's calling and turn from darkness to light. For John 8:12 declares that Jesus is the light of the world and whoever follows Him will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life, and that light indeed expels all darkness.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up this former landlord to You. Lord Jesus, we thank You that You reign over all darkness and Your light expels all darkness and every unclean spirit. We declare Your victory over this rented apartment situation and over this man's life. We ask for Your mercy and grace to flood his heart. Holy Spirit, convict him of sin and of righteousness and open his eyes to see that trying to save his own life apart from You will cause him to lose it. Grant him repentance and faith to lose his life for Your sake so that he may truly save it. Help him to hear Your voice clearly concerning Your holy plan for his life, to turn from his own path and to walk on Your narrow path. Reveal to him his true identity as one created in Your image and made new in Christ, and show him the emptiness of the false identity the world offers. We pray that he would confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in his heart that You raised Him from the dead, for Romans 10:9 promises that in this way he will be saved. Draw him to salvation and heal and guide him on his journey, that all may see Your greatness and power, for no one can withstand Your mighty power. We thank You for Your love and faithfulness that endures forever. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our only Savior. Amen.

We were moved by the way you are praying for your former landlord even after the rental season has ended. It would be easy to move on with frustration, but you are asking for his life to be found in Jesus and for him to hear God's leading. That is a gracious posture and we want to stand with you in it.

What you named about identity really matters. When a person comes to know who he is in Christ, it gives a steadier foundation than any role, success or desire of his own. It becomes a quiet point of reference when life is noisy, and it shapes character more than outward appearance or achievement. Praying that his eyes would be opened to that true identity is a loving and hopeful prayer.

One simple way to keep carrying this is to let the memory of that apartment, whenever it comes to mind, be a prompt to pray a brief, specific prayer for him by name, that God would draw near and make His way clear.

Father, we lift this landlord to You. We ask that You draw him to Yourself in Jesus, that he would hear Your voice and come to know who he is in Christ. Lead him on the path You have for him and show him Your mercy and grace. We trust him to Your care in Jesus' name, Amen.

We join you in bringing this former landlord before the throne of grace, and we do so in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in no other.

Your prayer is founded upon a faithful word, for our Lord has said, For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. We pray that the Holy Spirit will make this truth living and powerful to his heart, that he may see he cannot save himself, and that he must lose his life into the hands of Christ to find it again.

We pray that he may see Jesus and so see God's salvation, for wherever our eyes spiritually light upon the Christ of God, there we see God's salvation. Salvation is of the Lord alone. It is of God's planning and ordaining, and it is wrapped up in the gift of the person of Jesus Christ. All of it lies in Christ, because He died and our sin is put away, and because He lived in active obedience to render recompense for our breaches of His holy law. We ask that God, who works in us to will and to do of His good pleasure, would graciously work in this man, to bring him to trust himself wholly and entirely in the hands of Christ. For that is to see God's salvation.

We pray also as you have asked, that he may hear God's voice concerning His holy plan for his life. Let the heart of God in the Bible speak to his own heart, for it is there the Lord is pleased to reveal Himself. As it is written, God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. We ask that he may be brought near to God through Jesus Christ His Son, that he may think of Him, love Him, and be made like Him.

And we pray that his eyes may be opened to know his true identity in Christ, and to turn from the false identity that man adopts when he strays from God's narrow path and follows his own desires. May he be delivered from seeking to save himself, and from seeking pleasure in sin which binds the hands of Christ, and may he come to God as he actually is, as a sinner shut up to free grace through Jesus Christ, laying bare his conscience before the law of God and finding mercy in the gospel.

We thank you for your love for this soul and for your desire to see the Lord's greatness and power displayed. We will continue to ask the Lord, who alone preserves and keeps His people, to have mercy upon this landlord, to grant him repentance and faith, and to keep him in that sure salvation which is in Christ alone, to the praise of His glorious grace.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in prayer for your former landlord and thank you for bringing this burden before the church, for to bear one another's burdens is to fulfill the law of Christ.

The word you have chosen is true and searching. Our Lord said, whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. This shows us that salvation is not found in holding tightly to our own way, but in surrendering our whole life to Jesus Christ, through whom alone we are saved. There is no other name by which we are delivered from the curse and brought into adoption as sons, and it is only by putting on Christ and receiving His Spirit that we find our true life.

We pray with you for this man:

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we ask for mercy upon this former landlord. You reign over all darkness and Your light expels darkness. Open his eyes to see that the life lived according to his own desires is a false identity that leads away from Your narrow path, and reveal to him his true identity which is found only in Christ. Grant him grace to hear Your voice, not as a distant sound through darkness, but clearly through Your Son and Your word, and to recognize that voice and follow it. Give him a heart to hear with care and to keep Your word continually, to turn from trusting in himself, and to lose his life for Jesus so that he may truly save it. Lead him to repentance and faith, that he may receive forgiveness and the Spirit of adoption, and walk in the way that leads to salvation.

We will continue to stand with you in this prayer, asking that God will work in his heart by His grace, that he may come to know the greatness and power of Christ and be brought from darkness into the light of Your salvation. May the Lord also strengthen you as you pray, and keep your own mouth and heart exercised in His words and His grace. We ask all this in the name of Jesus, our only Mediator and Savior. Amen.
