Former landlord

Please pray in Jesus' name based on this verse.
Luke 9:24 states: "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." (ESV)
Please pray that the landlord will give his life to our Lord Jesus, so that he will not lose it.

Lord Jesus we believe that you reign over the darkness, and your light expels all darkness and all unclean spirits from those affected by it.
Lord Jesus, we declare victory over this rented apartment situation, and we ask for your healing power to guide the former landlord on his life's journey.
We believe everyone will see your Greatness and Power.
No one can withstand Your mighty power. We ask your mercy and grace.
We thank you for your love and faithfulness.

Please also pray that he can hear God's voice concerning His holy plan for his life

Please pray that, in the name of Jesus, the landlord recognises his true identity in Christ, and that his eyes are opened to the false identity that man adopts when he strays from God's narrow path and follows his own desires.

We join with you in lifting up this former landlord before the throne of grace and we thank you for your heart to see him come to saving faith in Jesus Christ rather than holding onto bitterness over the rented apartment situation. It is a beautiful and Christlike desire to pray for the salvation of another, even one with whom there may have been difficulty.

We are encouraged by the verse you have stood upon. Luke 9:24 says For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it. This is the very heart of the gospel, that we must surrender our own way, our own desires and our own self-rule, and give our lives fully to Jesus in order to truly find life. We also remember John 3:16 which says For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. And Acts 4:12 reminds us There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.

We pray together for him now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we thank You that Your light expels all darkness and that no power can withstand Your mighty hand. We lift up this former landlord to You and we ask for Your mercy and grace to be poured out upon him. Lord Jesus, we pray that You would draw him by Your Holy Spirit to Yourself, that he would hear Your voice and respond in repentance and faith. Your Word says in John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. We pray that the noise of this world and the deceitfulness of his own desires would be quieted so that he can clearly hear Your holy plan for his life and follow You on the narrow path that leads to life.

We pray that he would lose his life for Your sake so that he may truly save it, that he would surrender his whole heart to You as Lord and Savior. We pray that his eyes would be opened to see his true identity in Christ, and that he would turn from any false identity that comes from straying from You. Your Word declares in 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. We pray that he would become that new creation, forgiven and cleansed by Your blood, for Ephesians 1:7 says In him we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.

We also declare victory in Jesus name over any lingering hurt or conflict from this rented apartment situation. We ask that You would bring healing and peace to all involved, and that You would be glorified through reconciliation and forgiveness. Help us to continue to love our enemies and pray for those who have been difficult toward us, as You command in Matthew 5:44. We trust that You reign over all and that Your faithfulness endures forever, and we thank You that You desire all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth as 1 Timothy 2:4 teaches.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for Your great love and power at work even now. We ask all these things in the saving and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and only hope. Amen.

We appreciate the love behind this request. It would be easy to pray only about an apartment situation, but you are asking for something far more lasting, that this man would come to know Jesus and find his true life in Him.

That kind of prayer reflects Christ's heart, and we are glad to stand with you in it. We hear too that you want him to hear God's leading and to see clearly who he is meant to be, rather than an identity built on his own desires. That clarity only comes as God gently works in a person's heart over time, and our prayers invite Him to do that work.

A simple next step that helps many is to keep this prayer steady but unburdened. Choose a regular moment in your week to bring him before the Lord by name, then entrust him to God's mercy and timing without feeling you must make something happen. If you still have occasional contact, a quiet, respectful kindness speaks well of the faith you carry.

Father, we lift this former landlord to You in Jesus name. Draw him to Yourself, open his eyes to Your love and truth, and help him hear Your voice and find his true identity in Christ. Work in his life according to Your holy plan and grace. Amen.

We join you in bringing this former landlord before the throne of grace, pleading the word of our Lord in Luke 9:24, For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.

We pray that the Lord in His mercy will grant this man to see that salvation is of the Lord alone and that all salvation is wrapped up in the person of Jesus Christ. Wherever our eyes spiritually light upon the Christ of God, there we see God's Salvation. May his eyes be opened to behold Christ as God's Salvation, to see in Him the robe of righteousness which alone can cover sin, and to trust himself wholly and entirely into the hands of Christ. For every soul that believes in Christ believes because God made him to believe, working in him to will and to do of His own good pleasure. We ask that God who alone can give life would make this man alive in Christ, for this life is in His Son, and he that hath the Son hath life.

We pray also that he may hear the voice of God in the Bible speaking to his own heart, and be brought to honest dealing with God, to come as he actually is, as a sinner shut up to free grace through Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we must be saved, for God was manifest in the flesh, and no man has seen God at any time except as He is declared by the only begotten Son. We ask that the light of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ may shine into his heart, that he may turn from the false identity which man adopts when he strays from the narrow path and follows his own desires, and may find his true identity in Christ, crucified with Christ and yet living because Christ lives in him.

We ask this not by might of persuasion but by the power and wisdom of God in Christ, that the darkness may be expelled and this soul preserved and kept by the Lord alone. May the Lord grant him repentance and faith, that losing his life for Jesus sake, he may truly save it, and rejoice in Thy salvation both now and in the valley of death. We thank you for your love and faithfulness, and ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our only hope, Amen.
