There is forgiveness with God, and your short, earnest cry has come to the right place. Do you tremble and shake for fear, and with a penitent heart desire forgiveness. Then hear the good word which the Lord sends to such as you are, there is forgiveness.
It is a divine forgiveness, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. Were all men to hiss at you and wish you gone, you would not need their forgiveness to enter heaven. You need His, and His you may have. It is a surprising forgiveness, so surprising that the Lord repeats Himself, I, even I, as if He were surprised that such sins should be remitted, lest any of us should doubt it. If you have been the chief of sinners, you may have the chief of sinners forgiveness, and God can bestow it now.
You lie in a sense like the man borne of four and laid before Jesus, hoping and expecting both forgiveness and healing. Mark the order of the Lord with that man. First forgiveness, then healing. Jesus said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins be forgiven thee, and afterward He bade him arise and walk. So it is with you. Healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction, and both are bestowed on the Lord's people. Pardon and healing were one when Jesus healed the sick of the palsy.
Do as Martin Luther did in the days of his dark distress, when a brother monk said to him, Do you not believe in the Creed, and do you not say, I believe in the forgiveness of sins. Now believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself. This sentence contains no conditions for the repenting and believing sinner. The tally is destroyed, the record of your debt is nailed to the Cross. Suppose you call on your creditor and say to him, I have nothing to pay with, the Lord proclaims oblivion to all your debt when you put your trust in Christ. It is a complete forgiveness, an absolute forgiveness, and an eternal forgiveness, for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. He never plays fast and loose with men. He not only forgave us at the first all our sins, but He continues daily to forgive, for the act of forgiveness is a continuous one.
And with that forgiveness comes healing. You ask, Heal me of porn and lust, Lord. Heal me. Know then that there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. These healing leaves change the life blood, affect the spirits and make the nature other than it was before. When the Sun of Righteousness rises upon you with healing in His wings, the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick, for the people that dwell there shall be forgiven their iniquity.
Yet hear also the word concerning purity, for charity and purity are the two great garments of Christianity, and charity without purity will be of no use. Without holiness no man shall see the Lord. The blessed purity of our holy faith is conspicuous not only in its precepts but in the character of the God whom it reveals. Lust, when it has conceived, bringeth forth sin, and sin when it is finished bringeth forth death. That is the pedigree of sin, it is born of lust and it bringeth forth death. Any sin, whatever it is, if we cling to it and love it, will bring forth death, rest assured of that. The corruption that is in the world is through lust, and you are called to escape it and be made a partaker of the Divine Nature, having been born anew by regeneration and lifted up into familiarity with God.
God made sex and ordained it to belong within the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman in marriage. What you confess, the looking upon what is not yours to look upon and the indulging of lust in heart and eye, runs against that holy order. Do not seek that God should bless the sin while you remain in it. Seek that He should forgive it, cleanse it, and lead you out of it into purity.
Therefore come to Him now, just as you are, confessing your sin without excuse, turning from it, and trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. There is forgiveness with Him at this moment. There was forgiveness, there is forgiveness, there will be forgiveness as long as life lasts, and where God draws no limit, do not you draw any. It is not forgiveness up to a certain point or up to a certain date, but a glorious fullness with no abridging or qualifying words.
May the Lord grant you present forgiveness, and with it the removal of the consequences of sin. May He give you a new nature that hates the sin you once loved, eyes that turn away, a mind that is washed, and feet that flee temptation. Cry to Him daily, walk in the light, bring your struggle into the open with faithful brethren, and cut off every provision for the flesh. He who has forgiven you will also heal you, and what follows after forgiveness shall be a life made clean by His healing leaves.
