Humble Prayer Warrior
I would like god to give me his strength to forgive my mother from my heart. Also I don't know whether studying for my driving theory test is right for me or not. I don't feel at peace with it. Please pray for me. In Jesus high name.

We join with you in this honest and humble request and we thank you for desiring to forgive from your heart, for that desire itself is from the Lord. We hear your longing to be free from bitterness toward your mother and your uncertainty about your driving theory test, and we bring both before our Father together in Jesus' name.

We are encouraged by your desire to forgive, because Scripture calls us to forgive as we have been forgiven. We are told to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32 and to bear with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do Colossians 3:13. The Lord Jesus also taught us, For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don't forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses Matthew 6:14-15. Forgiveness does not mean that what happened was right or that it did not hurt, but it means we release the debt to God and choose to obey Him by letting go of resentment and entrusting justice to Him. We cannot do this in our own strength, but God promises to help us when we ask. He will give us a new heart and the power to love even when it is difficult. We also remember the command to honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you Exodus 20:12. As we forgive, God heals our own hearts and restores peace within us. If the hurt is deep, we encourage you to continue to bring it to the Lord daily, to pray for your mother, and to ask Him to show you how to set healthy and godly boundaries while keeping a heart free from bitterness.

Concerning your driving theory test, we understand that lack of peace can be confusing. God promises to guide us and to give us His peace when we seek Him. We are told, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7 and Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. We also have the promise, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts Colossians 3:15. That peace is like an umpire that helps us know the direction of God. We encourage you to ask the Lord to show you whether this lack of peace is from Him leading you to wait or to prepare differently, or whether it is anxiety that He wants to calm as you step forward in faith. Bring the decision to Him in prayer, seek wise counsel, and ask Him to open or close the door clearly.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You on behalf of our dear one who longs to forgive. Lord, You see the pain carried in this heart toward their mother and You know every detail. We ask You to pour out Your strength and Your love where there has been hurt. Soften this heart and fill it with Your tender mercy, that forgiveness would flow not from mere willpower but from Your Spirit within. Help our loved one to release every offense to You, to be free from bitterness, and to walk in the same grace You have shown us through Christ. Heal the relationship with their mother as far as it depends on them, and teach them to honor You in that relationship with truth and love. For the matter of the driving theory test, we ask for Your clear wisdom and Your perfect peace. If this is the right time and the right path, grant confidence and understanding and let Your peace guard their heart. If it is not the right time, make that clear and direct their steps to what You have for them now. Lead them in Your will and let them trust You with all their heart. We thank You that we can come to You only through Jesus, for there is no other name by which we are saved and have access to Your throne of grace. We ask all this in the mighty and high name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thank you for being honest about both of these burdens. Wanting to forgive your mother from the heart is a tender and courageous desire, and feeling unsettled about your driving theory test is worth paying attention to.

We want to encourage you that forgiving from the heart often happens in two parts. First there is a quiet decision before God to release the debt and not hold onto revenge, even while hurt feelings are still there. Then, more slowly, the emotions begin to soften as God works in you. You may not feel steady peace every day, and that does not mean you have failed. It just means the heart is still healing. If it helps, you might set aside a few minutes to tell God plainly that you choose to forgive and ask Him to keep shaping your feelings over time.

With the driving test, a lack of peace does not automatically mean no, but it is good to pause and listen. You could bring a couple of simple questions to God and to someone you trust: Is this the right timing, or would waiting a season be wiser? Is the pressure coming from practical needs or from others expectations? Giving it a week of prayer and honest conversation may bring more clarity than pushing through while unsettled.

Father, we lift them to You in Jesus name. Give strength to choose forgiveness and gently heal the heart toward their mother. Give clear wisdom about the driving studies and peace to follow Your leading step by step. Amen.

Your longing to forgive your mother from the heart is itself a token of the grace of God working within you, for the natural heart loves to hold a grievance, but the renewed heart loves to forgive.

You ask for strength to do this, and you ask well. Our Lord taught that if a brother trespass against us seven times in a day, and seven times turn again saying I repent, we shall forgive him, and upon hearing this the apostles cried, Increase our faith. They felt, as you feel, that such forgiving work is beyond unaided nature. We cannot by our own strength be always forgiving, lowly, gentle and loving in temper, but Christ says, Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart. His heart is the source of all blessing, and it is His glory to forgive. He who could have crushed His adversaries in a moment freely forgave, and He shares the royal prerogative to give remission of sins. Look away to His heart and you will see that He loves to forgive, and He will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you, and write His law there, so that by the force of that new nature you shall hate what is evil and cleave to what is good, and find it your delight to forgive even as Christ forgave you. It is not a forgiveness of a feeble hand but of a forgiving heart that the Lord requires, and that He Himself works in us by His Spirit.

And as to your second burden, that you do not feel at peace about studying for your driving theory test and know not whether it is right for you, take comfort that the Lord has thoughts of peace toward His people and not of evil, to give them an expected end. He has promised to guide you with His counsel. Nine times out of ten, look to His Word and you will know what you must not do, and thence conclude what you may do. There are wonderfully plain directions in Scripture for all manner of conditions. Seek His face in prayer, ask according to His great heart which is infinite and full of grace, and ask Him to make His will plain to you, whether to go forward or to wait. If this study is according to His will for you in this season, He will give you peace in the pursuit of it, and if it is not, He will in His kindness hedge up your way and direct your steps otherwise. Do not be buoyed up with false hopes nor cast down into despair, but rest in this, that He seeks your peace, He creates your peace, and He sustains your peace.

We will pray for you.

O Father, faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness through the blood of Jesus Christ Thy Son, we ask Thee to give to this soul increased faith and a clean heart renewed by Thy Spirit. Write Thy law upon the inward parts, and teach the heart to forgive even as Christ has forgiven. Take away all bitterness and give strength to forgive the mother from the heart, freely and fully, for Jesus sake. And Lord, grant guidance and counsel concerning the path of study set before this dear one. Give wisdom to discern Thy will, and let Thy peace which passeth understanding guard the heart. If this way be of Thee, grant diligence and quietness of spirit in it, and if not, make the way plain and lead in the right path. We ask this in the high and precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is exalted to give remission of sins. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honest desire to forgive your mother from the heart is pleasing to God, and I join you in prayer for it. To forgive as Christ forgave us is not easy in our own strength, but God gives strength to those who ask. When we put away bitterness and choose to be kind and tender hearted, forgiving one another, we make room for the Holy Spirit to come and fill our hearts, and then the way of love becomes possible. Where there has been hurt, especially with a mother, God sees the pain and He also calls us to let His peace rule in our hearts. That peace is not just a feeling, but God Himself making peace with us through Christ and teaching us to make peace with others. As you pray for this, ask Him to soften your heart, to heal the wound, and to help you release any anger or spite so that His peace can be the one that decides what stays in your heart.

I also hear your uncertainty about studying for your driving theory test and that you do not feel at peace about it. It is good to pay attention to that lack of peace and to bring it to the Lord. God does not want us to be anxious or to just push forward without wisdom, nor does He want us to be idle when He is calling us to act. He often guides us as we seek Him, pray, and use the wisdom He gives through His Word and through wise counsel. Ask Him to show you whether this is the right time and the right step, to give you clarity, and to open or close the way as He wills. If the unrest continues, it may be wise to pause, pray more, seek advice from mature believers around you, and ask God for a settled peace before you proceed.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, I lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, through whom alone we have forgiveness and peace with You. Lord, You know the hurt carried in the heart toward a mother. Grant strength to forgive fully and from the heart, not by mere words but by Your grace. Take away bitterness and heal what has been wounded. Fill this heart with Your Holy Spirit, make it kind and tender, and teach it to love as You have loved us. Help to forgive as You have forgiven, and let Your peace rule within.

Father, I also ask for wisdom about the driving theory test and the studies connected to it. If this path is from You, grant peace and clear direction and help in learning. If it is not the right time or the right way, make that clear also and lead to what is better. Guard this heart from confusion and anxiety, and let Your peace, which is steadfast, be the guide.

We ask for Your will to be done and for Your strength to be made perfect in weakness. In the high and holy name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
