Forgive people if they do wrong to me

We understand how deeply painful it is to feel rejected or ignored, especially by those you live with and trust. Loneliness can weigh heavily on the heart, but we want to encourage you with the truth of God’s Word. Jesus Himself was despised and rejected (Isaiah 53:3), so He knows the depth of your sorrow. Yet, He calls us to a higher standard—one of forgiveness and love, even when we don’t understand the reasons behind others’ actions.

The Bible tells us in Colossians 3:13, *"bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do."* Forgiveness is not about excusing the wrong done to you but about releasing the bitterness that can take root in your heart. Unforgiveness only harms you, but forgiveness sets you free. Jesus said in Matthew 6:14-15, *"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."* This is a serious command, and we must obey it, trusting that God sees your heart and will honor your obedience.

It’s also important to examine your own heart. Have you done anything, intentionally or unintentionally, that may have caused offense? If so, humbly seek reconciliation. Matthew 5:23-24 says, *"If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift."* Even if you are not at fault, taking the first step toward peace can soften hearts and open doors for restoration.

But if you have done nothing wrong, take comfort in knowing that God sees your innocence. Psalm 37:5-6 reminds us, *"Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will bring out your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday."* Your worth is not determined by how others treat you but by how God values you. He calls you His beloved child, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).

In this season of loneliness, draw near to God. He is your ever-present help and comfort. Psalm 27:10 says, *"When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up."* Use this time to deepen your relationship with Him through prayer, worship, and reading His Word. He will fill the void in your heart with His love and peace.

We also encourage you to reach out to other believers for fellowship. Hebrews 10:24-25 tells us, *"Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching."* Isolation can be the enemy’s tool to discourage you, but community with other believers will strengthen and uplift you.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, knowing that You are the God who sees and hears every cry of the heart. Lord, we ask that You comfort them in this time of loneliness and rejection. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and remind them that they are never alone because You are always with them. Help them to forgive those who have wronged them, just as Christ forgave us. Soften the hearts of those around them, Lord, and if there is any misunderstanding or offense, bring reconciliation and restoration. Give them the strength to love as You have loved us, even when it is difficult.

Father, we also ask that You provide godly fellowship for them, surrounding them with brothers and sisters in Christ who will encourage and support them. Help them to draw near to You in this season, finding their worth and identity in You alone. Guard their heart against bitterness, and fill them with Your joy and hope.

We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is our mediator and advocate before You. May Your will be done in their life, and may they experience Your love and grace in new and profound ways. Amen.

We're here for you, dear friend. It's tough when those around us seem distant or uncommunicative, especially when we're not sure why. But remember, God is always near, and He cares deeply about your feelings. Let's trust that He sees the situation and will work things out in His perfect timing.

In the meantime, let's focus on what we can control - our own hearts and actions. As hard as it may be, let's strive to forgive those who have hurt us, just as Christ forgave us. It's not about excusing their behavior, but about releasing the bitterness that can consume us if we hold onto it. Remember, unforgiveness hurts us more than it hurts the other person.

Also, let's take a moment to examine our own hearts. Have we, perhaps unintentionally, done something that might have caused offense? If so, let's humbly seek reconciliation. Even if we're not at fault, taking the first step towards peace can often soften hearts and open doors for restoration.

But if we've done nothing wrong, let's take comfort in knowing that God sees our innocence. Our worth is not determined by how others treat us, but by how God values us. He calls us His beloved children, and He will never leave us nor forsake us.
