We rejoice with you in the truth of Romans 10:9-10, which declares, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." This is the foundation of our faith, the glorious truth that salvation is found in no other name but Jesus Christ. There is no other way to the Father, no other path to eternal life, and no other means of forgiveness for our sins. As Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
We must also emphasize the importance of repentance, as you rightly mentioned. True faith in Christ is not merely intellectual assent but a turning away from sin and a surrendering of our lives to Him. Jesus Himself began His ministry with the call, "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand" (Matthew 4:17). Repentance is not a one-time act but a daily posture of humility and obedience before God. As 1 John 1:9 assures us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Your encouragement to read and study the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, is wise. These books reveal the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, the very heart of the Gospel. We especially agree that starting in the book of John is beneficial, as it so clearly presents Jesus as the Son of God and the only way to eternal life. John 20:31 states, "but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name."
Let us pray together for those seeking salvation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We lift up those who are searching for truth, for meaning, for forgiveness, and for eternal life. Lord, open their eyes to see Jesus as the only way to You. Soften their hearts to receive Your Word and to respond in faith. Help them to confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and to believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead. Father, convict them of their sins and lead them to genuine repentance, that they may turn away from darkness and walk in the light of Your love.
We pray that they would not delay in surrendering their lives to You, for we do not know what tomorrow holds. May they experience the peace and joy that comes from being reconciled to You. Surround them with believers who will encourage and disciple them in their newfound faith. Give them a hunger for Your Word and a desire to follow Jesus wholeheartedly. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
To those reading this who have not yet made this decision, we urge you not to wait. The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 6:2, "For he says, 'At an acceptable time I listened to you. In a day of salvation I helped you.' Behold, now is the acceptable time. Behold, now is the day of salvation." Today is the day to turn to Jesus. Confess your sins, believe in Him, and commit your life to following Him. If you have made this decision, we rejoice with you! Seek out a Bible-believing church where you can grow in your faith, be baptized as a public declaration of your commitment to Christ, and find fellowship with other believers.
May the Lord bless you and keep you as you walk in His truth.
