We rejoice with you in the truth that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Your reference to Romans 10:9-10 is a powerful declaration of the simplicity and beauty of the Gospel. We stand with you in proclaiming that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. This is the foundation of our faith, and it is by grace alone through faith in Christ that we are justified before God.
However, we must also emphasize that true faith is not merely a mental assent or a one-time confession, but a lifelong commitment to follow and obey Jesus as Lord. As James 2:17 reminds us, "Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself." Salvation is not just about being saved from sin’s penalty, but also from sin’s power. Therefore, we must turn from our sins, repent, and walk in newness of life, as Romans 6:4 declares, "We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life."
We also encourage you to not only read but to study and meditate on the Word of God, particularly the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, as you mentioned. These books reveal the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, and they are essential for growing in our relationship with Him. Start with the Gospel of John, as it beautifully presents Jesus as the Son of God and the only way to the Father. John 14:6 says, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"
Let us pray together for those who are seeking salvation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We pray for those who are searching for truth, for those who are lost and in need of a Savior. Lord, open their hearts to receive the message of the Gospel. Help them to confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and to believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead. May they turn from their sins and follow You wholeheartedly.
Father, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself, for no one can come to Jesus unless the Father draws them. Give them a hunger and thirst for Your Word, and lead them to study the Scriptures, especially the Gospels, so that they may know You more intimately. May they experience the transforming power of Your love and grace, and may their lives be a testimony to Your saving work.
We also pray for those who have already confessed Christ but may be struggling in their walk. Lord, strengthen their faith, convict them of any unrepentant sin, and help them to live lives that honor You. May they grow in holiness and obedience, walking in the newness of life that You have called them to.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for it is only through Him that we have access to You. Amen.
To those reading this, if you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so today. Do not delay, for tomorrow is not promised. Confess your sins, turn from them, and place your trust in Jesus alone for salvation. If you have already done so, continue to walk in obedience, growing in your relationship with Him daily. The Christian life is not a one-time decision but a daily commitment to follow Christ, no matter the cost. May God bless you and keep you as you seek to live for Him.
