For the man called ###

Hysaraemoor

Disciple of Prayer
Lord Jesus,

I pray for my ex-boyfriend. Please open his heart to You and lead him to know You personally as his Savior and Lord. Let him encounter Your love, grace, truth, and mercy in a way that changes his heart and draws him closer to You.

Lord, I am afraid that my foolish behavior and the mistakes I made may have hurt him deeply or given him a wrong impression of Christians and of You. I am truly sorry for the ways I failed to reflect Your character. Please forgive me for my sins and help me trust that You are greater than my mistakes. If I have caused him pain or made him turn away from You, please heal those wounds and show him that my failures do not represent who You are.

Please protect his heart from bitterness, anger, and hatred. Bring the right people into his life who will show him Your love through their words and actions. Soften his heart toward You, and in Your perfect time, lead him to faith in Jesus Christ.

I am not praying for reconciliation or asking that we become a couple again. I simply pray that, one day, there will no longer be anger, hatred, or resentment between us. If it is Your will, let there be peace, forgiveness, and genuine love between us not romantic love, but the kind of love that comes from You.

Help me to release him into Your hands and not try to control his journey. Teach me to trust You with his life and with mine. May my life from now on reflect Your light more clearly, so that I can be a faithful witness of Your love and grace.

Lord, redeem what was broken, heal what was wounded, and use even my mistakes for Your glory.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

We join with you in lifting up this man before the Lord and we commend you for the heart behind this prayer. It is a beautiful and mature thing to pray not for selfish reconciliation or for a romantic reunion, but for his salvation and for peace and forgiveness to replace any bitterness. That reflects the love of Christ which seeks the eternal good of another above our own desires.

We hear your sorrow over foolish behavior and mistakes that may have hurt him and misrepresented Christ to him. We praise God that you have brought this to Him in repentance, for we are promised If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. Your failures do not define you any longer, and they certainly do not define Him. When we fail to reflect His character, He remains perfect, merciful and faithful. We are reminded that God can redeem even what was broken, for We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28. We also rejoice that you prayed in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other way to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and it is only through His name that we have forgiveness and access to God.

We want to gently encourage you with biblical truth concerning relationships as you move forward. In Scripture, what the world calls a boyfriend or girlfriend is best understood as courtship with the intentional goal of discerning marriage to a fellow believer in Christ. Marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that honors God, and any courtship should be entered with that purpose and with sexual purity. Fornication, which is sex before or outside of marriage, is sin before God and often brings deep wounds, confusion and regret into a relationship. If any part of your foolish behavior involved sexual impurity, we urge you to confess that specifically to the Lord and receive His cleansing, and to commit from this day forward to purity until marriage. Even if that was not part of your situation, we encourage you to carry this standard into any future courtship, seeking only a godly spouse who is already walking with Christ, so that you may be equally yoked and build a marriage that glorifies God 2 Corinthians 6:14.

We also see your desire that his heart would be protected from bitterness, anger and hatred. This is exactly how God calls us to pray, even for those who may have been hurt or who may have hurt us. He calls us to Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44. We pray with you that any wounds he carries would be healed by the Lord and that he would not allow bitterness to take root, and that you too would be kept from bitterness as you release him into God's hands. Scripture says If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18, and we pray that the peace you desire, not romantic love but the genuine love that comes from God, would be the testimony between you.

We pray for his salvation above all else, for the Lord is not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9. Only God can give a new heart, as He promises I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you Ezekiel 36:26.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. We lift up this man to You and ask that You would open his heart to Your love, grace, truth and mercy. Draw him by Your Holy Spirit, remove any veil from his eyes, and lead him to know Jesus personally as Savior and Lord. Where he has been wounded, whether by this relationship or by other things in his life, we ask You to heal him. Protect his heart from bitterness, anger and hatred, and do not let the enemy use pain to harden him against You. Bring faithful Christians into his life who will show him who You truly are through their words and actions, and soften his heart to receive the gospel in Your perfect timing.

Lord, we thank You for the repentant heart of the one who prayed this prayer. Thank You that You have forgiven her as she has confessed her sins to You. Help her to walk in the assurance that she is a new creation in Christ, that the old things have passed away and all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17. Teach her to trust that You are greater than her mistakes and that her failures do not represent You. Help her to fully release this man into Your hands, to not try to control his journey, and to trust You with both his life and her own. May her life from this day forward reflect Your light more clearly, that she would be a faithful witness of Your love and grace. Guard her heart, lead her in purity and wisdom, and when the time is right, lead her to a godly marriage to a believing man if it is Your will.

Father, redeem what was broken, heal what was wounded, and use even mistakes for Your glory. Let there be peace and genuine forgiveness where there was resentment, and let both lives be drawn closer to You. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope of salvation. Amen.

We were so touched by the humility and love in your prayer. It takes real maturity to care more about his coming to know Jesus and being free from bitterness than about getting back together, and to be honest about your own regrets.

We hear the weight you carry worrying that your mistakes gave him a wrong picture of what following Jesus looks like. It is good to own that, and also good to remember you do not have to fix his view of God by yourself. God is able to show him who He truly is through other people and in His own way, beyond any one person's failures. Releasing him into God's hands, as you prayed, is a faithful way to love him now.

One thing that may help as you walk this out is that peace between two people does not have to mean closeness again. You can choose to wish him well and let go of resentment while still keeping healthy distance. That kind of forgiveness often starts as a quiet decision and the softer feelings come more slowly over time, which is normal.

If waves of guilt come, try turning them into a brief prayer of surrender in that moment rather than feeling you must reach out to make it right, and keep letting a trusted pastor or mentor know how you are doing.

Father, we lift this young man to You and ask that You draw him gently to know Your love and truth. Heal any hurt that remains on both sides, guard both hearts from bitterness, and help our sister to rest in Your forgiveness and to walk faithfully with You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your prayer is a right and gracious one before the Lord, and it gives evidence that His Spirit is working in your own heart.

You do well to pray above all for this man's salvation. There is no peace to be found out of Christ, for it is written, There is no peace, says my God, to the wicked. What he needs most is not earthly comfort or mere relief from bitterness, but peace with God through the blood of the everlasting covenant. He is our peace. Therefore continue to ask that the Lord will bring the right witnesses across his path, open his heart, and draw him to know Jesus Christ as his only rock and his salvation, for God alone is the salvation of His people and He only is to be trusted.

You also confess with a sorrowful heart that your own foolish behavior may have wounded him and misrepresented Christ. Hear the comfort of the gospel in this. It is not difficult for God to forgive though it may be difficult for us to do so. There is forgiveness with Him, and it is to be had now. It is immediate salvation, instantaneous pardon that God delights to give. He speaks and it is done. Do not put a limit where God puts none, but go to Jesus, the one Mediator between God and men, and confess your sin to Him who made propitiation for it. The pardoned soul desires to be rid of all sin and to be searched and probed, and you show that desire when you ask that your life from now on may reflect His light more clearly. Believe that you are forgiven through His precious blood, and then follow Him, treading in His footsteps and pursuing holiness, for the way to peace is the way of holiness.

You are right not to pray for a return to what was, but to pray for peace and forgiveness between you, not romantic love but the love that comes from God. He is the God of peace, for He justifies and thereby implants peace in the soul, He restores it when it is broken, and He preserves it when it is made. When the heart is at perfect peace with God, it can also know His peace which passes all understanding to keep the heart and mind by Jesus Christ. It is good that you would release this man into the Lord's hands and not try to control his journey. Your God is not worth having if He cannot help you when you want help. He thinks even of little things, so you may believe He thinks of you and of this man also. Trust Him with both lives.

May the Lord redeem what was broken and use even your mistakes for His glory, as you yield yourself to Him. May He protect this man's heart from bitterness and hatred, soften him toward the truth, and in His perfect time bring him to faith. And may He keep you in His peace as you rest upon the Father's bosom and look to Jesus who loved you and gave Himself for you.

We will pray with you: Lord Jesus, have mercy upon this man and bring him to know You as Savior and Lord. Forgive Your servant who confesses her sin, and let her know the joy of full pardon now through Your blood. Heal what was wounded, remove all anger and resentment, and if it be Your will grant a quiet peace between them that flows from peace with You. Keep them both in holiness and in the love which You alone can give. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer has been received with gratitude for its honesty and humility, and we join you in bringing it before the Lord Jesus.

We thank God that you desire above all that this man would come to know Jesus Christ personally as Savior and Lord. That is the greatest good that can be prayed for any person, for salvation comes through Christ alone, and there is no other name by which we are saved. We join you in asking that the Lord in His mercy would draw this man to Himself, that he would encounter the love, grace, truth and mercy of God in a way that softens his heart and leads him to repentance and faith.

We also hear your confession and your sorrow for ways you failed to reflect Christ. Be encouraged that God displays His longsuffering toward us and offers salvation that comes by repentance. When we turn to Him with a sincere heart, He forgives freely. As Scripture teaches, we who were in darkness and at enmity with God have been counted worthy of great forgiveness, of adoption and of the hope of heaven, not because we accomplished great things but because of His grace. Trust that He is greater than your mistakes. Your failures do not define who He is, and He is able to heal wounds that you could not heal yourself. We pray that where pain was caused or a wrong impression of Christians was given, the Lord Himself would heal that hurt and reveal His true character.

We join you in praying for protection over this man's heart, that bitterness, anger and hatred would not take root, and that the Lord would bring faithful people into his life who will show His love in word and deed. We pray that God would work in His perfect time and way to lead him toward faith.

We honor your clear statement that you are not asking for romantic reconciliation or to become a couple again. That is a wise and God honoring posture. Scripture calls us to follow peace with all people and to pursue the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. We do pray with you that in God's time anger and resentment would be replaced by peace, forgiveness and the genuine love that comes from God. That love is not romantic, but the love that seeks the good of the other and reflects Christ. We do not ask God to bless what is outside His design for marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, where intimate life belongs, but we do ask Him to bring redemption, healing and peace where there has been brokenness.

We also join you in releasing this man into God's hands and learning to trust the Lord with both his journey and your own. May your life from this day forward more and more reflect His light, so that you may be a faithful witness of His grace. What was broken He can redeem, what was wounded He can heal, and even our mistakes He can use for His glory when we walk humbly with Him.

Father, we ask that You would forgive, restore and sanctify our sister as she trusts You, and that You would in Your mercy draw this man to salvation through Jesus Christ. Bring peace where there has been hurt, guard both hearts from bitterness, and let Your name be glorified in both lives.

In Jesus name, Amen.

Your prayer reflects a humble and sincere heart, and it is right to bring these burdens to the Lord.

First, concerning your own guilt and sorrow over past failures, Scripture teaches that forgiveness does not come by excusing or justifying what we have done, but by honestly acknowledging it before God. When we confess our sins to Him, He forgives fully and completely. It is not a partial forgiveness. Because we often think of God as being like people, we can imagine His forgiveness is incomplete, but His forgiveness through Jesus Christ is total. The guilt you feel, that sense of being constantly reminded of your sin, is common, and that guilt can even make us feel we must punish ourselves before we can be free. But you do not need to carry that weight. If you have confessed your sins to God, receive His cleansing. He is greater than your mistakes, and His grace is not limited by your failures.

That truth also applies to your concern for this young man. Salvation is not placed within our own ability or performance. It rests entirely on God's grace and on the finished work of Jesus Christ, received by faith which God Himself provides. Your failures do not determine his eternal future and they do not misrepresent who God truly is in a way that God cannot overcome. The Lord is able to reach him directly, and to heal any wounds that were caused. You can trust that God is greater than what was broken.

Your desire for his salvation is exactly what God wants you to pray. God wants peace with people and has made a way for that peace through the blood of Jesus. Jesus Himself is our peace. He has broken down the wall that separates us from God and from one another, and He preaches peace to those who are far off and to those who are near, so that through Him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. The message of the Bible to anyone who has sinned is that there is forgiveness with God, that no one has gone too far, and that God offers healing and restoration. His salvation is near to all who will call on Him. As Scripture says, it is as close as your mouth and your heart, that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Mercy and truth have met together in Christ, and righteousness and peace have kissed. God remains righteous, and yet He can give you peace with Him through Jesus.

It is good that you are not asking for romantic reconciliation, but for freedom from bitterness, anger and resentment, and for a godly peace. That is wisdom from above, which is peaceable. Those who sow peace reap a harvest of righteousness, and Jesus called peacemakers the children of God. It is right to pray that God would protect this young man's heart from bitterness and hatred, and that God would bring people into his life who will show him the love of Christ in word and deed, and that his heart would be softened toward the Lord in God's perfect timing.

For yourself, the way to know that settled rest is to keep your mind stayed on the Lord and to trust Him. There is a difference between having peace with God, which happens the moment you surrender to Christ and your sins are forgiven, and knowing the peace of God day by day, which comes as you rest in His finished work and not in your own efforts. You cannot earn peace through striving or through trying to fix the past. You find it by resting in Jesus, the sure foundation, and trusting that He has already provided all that is needed for salvation and for your acceptance before God. God has ordained peace for His people and He delights to speak peace to those who turn to Him.

So continue to release this young man into God's hands and refuse to try to control his journey. Trust the Lord with his life and with your own. Ask God to make your life a clear reflection of His light, not so that you can earn anything, but so that you can be a faithful witness of the grace you have received. God is able to redeem what was broken, heal what was wounded, and use even our mistakes for His glory when we walk humbly with Him.

May the Lord keep you in perfect peace as your mind is stayed on Him, and may He extend His mercy to this young man, drawing him to know Jesus personally as Savior and Lord, and bringing you both to that true peace that comes only through Christ.
