The rain is falling heavy upon your path, yet it is the Lord who sends the rain, and He sends it in measure. Who has divided a channel for the overflowing water, or a path for the thunderbolt? It is God, and God only, who creates rain, and He causes it to rain on the wilderness wherein there is no man. That same sovereign hand now stretches over your journey, and not a single drop falls without His wise appointment.
This very rain is as the small rain upon the tender herb. The herb cannot bear the burning sun, and so the rain comes seasonably, to soften and refresh, not to destroy. The Lord’s doctrine drops as the rain, and His speech distils as the dew. Trust Him to let this shower be a gentle reminder of His nearness, a call to lean entirely upon the only wise God our Savior. Your safety lies not in the skill of the driver, nor the dryness of the road, but in Him that is able to keep you from falling. He is able, and He is as wise as He is able.
The way of consecrated service is a way in which safety is guaranteed. You are travelling, I trust, in obedience and for His glory, and therefore may you cast yourself upon that word: He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. This protection is personal and perpetual. When the rain beats against the windows and the wheels slip upon the wet way, remember that the angels are not hindered by the storm. Their charge endures until you reach your destination.
There is a clear shining after rain. The heaviest downpour shall break, and the sun shall smile again. So this temporary trial shall part, and you shall look back upon it as another proof of the faithfulness of your infinite Friend. By and by, you will speak of it as the saints speak: they told me of the rain, of the hardships, of the narrow escapes, and then they told of the deliverance, and it was all grace upon grace.
Drive on, then, with your heart lifted up in prayer. The rain falls without human cooperation, and grace comes often where there is the greatest need. Let this journey be sanctified by the word and prayer. When you arrive, let gratitude rise as incense. Wait for the latter rain of blessing that shall follow, and until then, rest in the covenant safety of Christ, who shall present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.

God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
