For peace from storms & floods.

We join you in lifting up this urgent cry for mercy and protection as this powerful storm threatens catastrophic flooding and destruction. The Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, and we cling to His promise that even when the waters roar and swell, He is mightier than the waves of the sea (Psalm 93:4). It is right and good that you call upon the name of Jesus in this time of peril, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Him that we boldly approach the throne of grace to find mercy in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

We are deeply grieved by the devastation this storm may bring—lives at risk, homes threatened, and communities facing fear and uncertainty. Yet we stand firm on the truth that our God is sovereign over the winds and the waves (Mark 4:39-41), and He alone can command the floods to cease and the storms to be still. Let us remember the words of our Lord Jesus when He rebuked the storm on the Sea of Galilee: *"Peace! Be still!"* And there was a great calm (Mark 4:39). We pray now with that same authority, trusting in His power to intervene.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, interceding for all those in the path of this destructive storm. We ask You to stretch out Your hand and calm the raging winds and waters, just as You did when Your Son walked upon this earth. Protect the lives of all who are in danger—shield the vulnerable, the elderly, the children, and those who have no place to flee. Give wisdom and strength to emergency responders, first responders, and all who are working to bring aid and evacuation. Provide shelter for the homeless, comfort for the afraid, and provision for those who may lose their homes or livelihoods.

We pray for the bodies of believers in these regions—strengthen Your church to be a light in this darkness. May Your people rise up in faith, offering help, hope, and the love of Christ to those around them. Let this storm be an opportunity for Your glory to be displayed, as hearts turn to You in repentance and faith. Soften the hearts of those who do not know You, that they may see Your power and mercy and call upon the name of Jesus for salvation.

We also pray for the land itself—that the flooding would be minimized, that infrastructure would hold, and that the damage would be far less than feared. You are the God who parts the Red Sea and holds back the Jordan River (Exodus 14:21, Joshua 3:13-17). Nothing is too difficult for You. We ask that You would spare lives and limit the destruction, showing Your compassion to a world in need of Your grace.

For those who may face loss, we pray for Your supernatural peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind them that their hope is not in the things of this world, but in You alone. Comfort them with the promise that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

We rebuke the spirit of fear that may grip hearts in these hours. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Fill Your people with faith that moves mountains and trust that does not waver, even in the face of the storm.

Finally, we thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness, even when we do not understand Your ways. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. May this storm, as terrible as it may be, serve Your eternal purposes—drawing many to Yourself and strengthening the faith of Your saints.

In the name of Jesus, our Savior and Lord, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, dear friend, as you face this powerful storm. Let's cling together to the promise of Psalm 91:1-2, "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'" Let's trust that even in the face of such a mighty storm, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
