FOR MY ### AND FOR ### AND FOR MY ###

Leah B.

Humble Servant of All
My friend seems to be getting worse. I was relieved that doctors know about her condition, but I am not seeing even the brain MRI getting done yet. I also strongly believe they need to do cognitive testing on her. I mainly visit her at early evening. I believe how she gets is called, "sundowning." I suspect she has Parkinson's and dementia. This is heartbreaking to watch. Also her grandchild should be arriving any day now. Her daughter spent THREE HOURS berating her by text today. This has GOT to stop. My friend is putting up with the abuse because she wants to be in the baby's life. My friend is younger than I, which makes this situation even more tragic -- She's way younger than average to have dementia. Please pray for her in Jesus's name.

Next up, please pray in Jesus's name for ###, a receptionist at VA. She is working in pain with carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger finger. I went through all that so I know exactly how she feels. Please pray in Jesus's name that they expedite her surgery and that she gets excellent results, including reversal of thenar muscle atrophy.

Last, my sister, ###. ### has horrific problems with cervical stenosis in neck area. My sister was a dancer and an athlete. Very tough to have to take over part of her Thanksgiving cooking because she is so impaired. Please pray in Jesus's name for a full recovery for my sister. Amen.

We lift up your heartfelt requests before the Lord, knowing that He is the Great Physician, the Comforter, and the One who sees all things. Your faith in calling upon the name of Jesus is a testament to your trust in Him, and we join you in seeking His will and intervention in these situations.

First, we grieve with you over the suffering of your friend, whose declining health and emotional abuse weigh heavily on your heart. The symptoms you describe—sundowning, possible Parkinson’s, and dementia—are deeply painful, especially when they strike someone so young. Yet we know that nothing is beyond God’s power or His compassion. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 34:18, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* We also recall Isaiah 41:10, where God says, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."*

The abuse your friend endures from her daughter is unacceptable and grievous in God’s sight. While we understand her desire to be part of her grandchild’s life, no one should tolerate mistreatment, especially in such a vulnerable state. The Bible commands us in Ephesians 6:2-3 to honor our parents, and Proverbs 22:10 warns, *"Drive out the mocker, and strife will go out; yes, quarrels and insults will stop."* We urge you to gently but firmly encourage your friend to set boundaries, even if it means limiting contact with her daughter until there is repentance and change. Abuse is not love, and enabling it does not honor God or protect her well-being. Pray that the daughter’s heart would be softened and convicted by the Holy Spirit, and that your friend would find the strength to stand firm in Christ’s love rather than fear.

We also pray for the medical professionals involved in her care. May God grant them wisdom, urgency, and clarity to perform the necessary tests—including the MRI and cognitive evaluations—so that she may receive proper treatment. We ask for divine intervention in her body, that any progression of disease would be halted, and that healing would manifest in ways that bring glory to God. Let her remaining time with her family be filled with peace, dignity, and moments of joy, especially as she awaits the arrival of her grandchild.

For the receptionist at the VA suffering from carpal tunnel and trigger finger, we lift her up, remembering how Jesus healed the woman with the bent-over spine in Luke 13:12-13: *"When Jesus saw her, he called her, and said to her, 'Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.' He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight and glorified God."* We ask the Lord to expedite her surgery, to guide the hands of her surgeons, and to restore full function to her hands—including the reversal of thenar muscle atrophy. May her pain be eased, her recovery swift, and her faith strengthened as she experiences His provision.

Lastly, we pray for your sister, whose cervical stenosis has robbed her of the mobility and joy she once knew as a dancer and athlete. The loss of independence, especially during a time meant for family and gratitude, is a heavy burden. Yet we cling to Jeremiah 30:17, *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh."* We ask for a miraculous healing of her neck, for the stenosis to be reversed, and for her strength to be renewed. May she find comfort in the promise of 2 Corinthians 12:9, where Jesus says, *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."* Let this season draw her closer to Him, and may she soon reclaim the activities she loves, giving thanks to God for His restoration.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with these petitions, trusting in Your sovereignty and goodness. You are the God who sees the afflicted, who hears the cries of the brokenhearted, and who acts on behalf of those who call upon Your name. We ask for Your healing touch upon these women—body, mind, and spirit. Where there is pain, bring relief; where there is abuse, bring justice and repentance; where there is despair, bring hope. Let Your will be done in their lives, and may they each experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

We also pray for you, dear sister in Christ, who carry the weight of these burdens. May the Lord renew your strength as you minister to those around you. Cast your anxieties upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Let Him be your refuge and your present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, praying for your friend who's facing such a challenging time. It's heart-wrenching to see her struggling, especially knowing she's so young to be dealing with these issues. We join you in asking for God's healing touch on her body and mind, and for wisdom for her doctors. We also lift up her grandchild's safe arrival, and pray for peace and joy in the time they have together.

For her daughter, we ask for a change of heart. May she be convicted by the Holy Spirit to treat her mother with kindness and respect. We pray for boundaries to be set, and for your friend to find the strength to do so, trusting in God's love and care for her.

Lastly, we're holding up the receptionist at the VA. We ask for God's guidance in her surgery, and for a swift and full recovery. May she experience God's provision and peace throughout this process.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
