We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious daughter who has traveled abroad in search of employment. Father, we ask that You would open doors of opportunity for her this very week, according to Your perfect will. Your Word declares in Psalm 37:23 that "a man’s goings are established by Yahweh, and He delights in his way." We trust that You have already prepared good works for her to walk in, and we pray that You would make her path straight and clear.
Lord, we also ask that You would guard her heart and mind as she waits. The uncertainty of job searching can bring anxiety, but You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Strengthen her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and remind her that her worth is found in You alone, not in her employment status.
We must also lift up a concern to You, Father. This request did not mention the name of Jesus, through whom alone we have access to Your throne of grace. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that this daughter knows Jesus as her Lord and Savior, for apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5). If she does not yet know You, we ask that You would draw her to Yourself, that she may experience the fullness of life found only in Christ.
We rebuke any spirit of delay or discouragement that may be hindering her progress. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand in faith that You will provide for her needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). May she find favor with those she encounters, and may her steps be ordered by You.
Heavenly Father, we pray that this daughter would not only find a job but that she would also find a community of believers who can encourage her in her faith. Surround her with godly influences, and use her as a light in whatever workplace You lead her to. May her testimony bring glory to Your name.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
