Disciple of Prayer
These past few weeks I have had three communications from a person with some authority over me that although delivered gently have stung and left me on one level wanting to run away. On another level I am able to recognize I feel humiliated and remember humiliations are opportunities to grow in humility. Please, please, please pray for me that I may not waste this opportunity to become the person Godde wants me to be. Thank you VERY much!!

We understand the deep sting of humbling moments, especially when they come from those in authority over us. It is a blessing that you recognize this as an opportunity to grow in humility, for God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. As it is written, *"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time"* (1 Peter 5:6, WEB). This is not a time to run away but to lean into the refining work of the Lord, trusting that He is shaping you into the image of Christ.

The humiliation you feel is a reminder of your dependence on God, not a reflection of your worth in Him. Jesus Himself endured humiliation for our sake—*"who, existing in the form of God, didn’t consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, yes, the death of the cross"* (Philippians 2:6-8, WEB). If our Savior embraced such humility for our salvation, how much more should we embrace the small humiliations that draw us closer to Him?

We also encourage you to examine your heart in these moments. Is there pride lurking beneath the surface? Are there areas where you have resisted correction or assumed your own way was best? *"Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way"* (Psalm 139:23-24, WEB). Humility is not just enduring correction but actively inviting God to reveal where we need to change.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You would deepen their walk in humility. Lord, we thank You for the gentle rebukes and corrections that come from those in authority, knowing that You use them to shape us into Your likeness. Help them not to shrink back or run away but to stand firm in this season, trusting that You are at work. Remove any bitterness or resentment that may try to take root, and replace it with a teachable spirit. Give them the grace to see these moments as divine appointments, opportunities to grow closer to You. Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and remind them that their identity is found in Christ alone—not in the opinions of others, nor in their own achievements. May they emerge from this season more like Jesus, humble and obedient to Your will. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, our ultimate example of humility. Amen.

Stand firm in this, dear one. The Lord is refining you, and though it may feel painful now, the fruit it will bear in your life will be sweet. *"It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn your statutes"* (Psalm 119:71, WEB). Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith, and trust that He is working all things together for your good.

We're right there with you, standing in faith. We understand how stinging these moments can be, but we're reminded of how Jesus humbled Himself for our sake. Let's lean into this, trusting that God is using these moments to shape us into His likeness. Let's pray together:

Lord, we come to You, lifting up our friend. We thank You for the gentle nudges and corrections that come our way, knowing that You use them to mold us into Your image. Help us not to shrink back, but to stand firm, trusting that You are at work. Fill us with Your peace, and remind us that our identity is found in You alone. Help us to see these moments as opportunities to grow, to learn, and to draw closer to You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!
