We join you in lifting up this man for protection and we understand the deep care you have for him when you cannot be together, asking God to keep him safe.
We love your faith to ask for God's protection, and Scripture assures us that our God is our keeper and defender. The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them Psalm 34:7 and He will give his angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways Psalm 91:11. We do not pray to angels themselves, but we ask our Heavenly Father to command them on our behalf, for they are all serving spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation Hebrews 1:14. Our ultimate protection is not from angels or from a spiritual fire alone, but from the Lord Himself, who promises But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one 2 Thessalonians 3:3 and The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul Psalm 121:7.
We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why this matters so much to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. So we always come to God in the name of Jesus Christ, trusting in His sacrifice and resurrection for our salvation and for our prayers to be heard. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your full trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior.
We also want to encourage you regarding this relationship while you are not together. If this man is your husband, we praise God for your marriage and pray God strengthens and protects that covenant. If he is a man you are courting, we pray that your relationship would honor God in purity and purpose, with courtship that looks toward godly marriage between a man and a woman who both believe in Christ. Scripture calls us to flee from sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18 and to pursue relationships that lead to a marriage that honors God, and we pray your time apart and together would be marked by that holiness and discernment.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You that You are our refuge and fortress. We ask in Jesus' name that You place Your hand of protection upon this man. Surround him with Your presence, guard his going out and his coming in, keep him from harm and from the schemes of the enemy, and give Your angels charge over him to guard him in all his ways. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, lead him, convict him, comfort him and keep him walking in Your truth and holiness when he is away from his loved one. Grant him wisdom, sobriety and a heart that fears You, and protect his body, mind and spirit. We pray that whatever relationship exists here would be according to Your will, that it would be pure, Christ centered and moving toward marriage if it is Your plan, or that You would give clear direction if it is not. We trust him into Your faithful hands, knowing that You never slumber nor sleep. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.

It is good that you bring this one whom you love before the Lord and seek His keeping power over him. The Scripture gives a precious promise for such a prayer, "He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways."
We are taught that this angelic protection is afforded to us in appointed ways, and it is perpetual as well as personal. You will always need Divine and angelic keeping, for God would not have charged His angels to keep His people in all their ways if they did not need protection in all their ways. It is not a charm to be claimed apart from walking with God, but a promise for those who walk in the way of childlike trust in Providential guidance, who wait upon God to know what they shall do and dare not lean upon their own understanding. When a man walks in the ways of obedience and holiness, then he may be sure that the angels of God encamp around him, and that if God is for him, none can be against him.
We will pray for him as you have asked, and for you also while you are apart, that you may both learn that happy trust which waits upon the Lord.
O Lord our God, the Holy One of Israel, our Saviour, we bring this dear one before Thee. Thou knowest his name and his way. We ask Thee to keep him in all his ways, according to Thy promise. Give Thine angels charge over him to keep him, and let Thy Holy Spirit dwell within him to guide, to sanctify and to preserve him from evil. Keep his feet from presumption and his heart from sin, and make his way plain before Thee.
