We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your husband in earnest prayer. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and binds up our wounds. Your Word declares in Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases." We stand on this promise today, believing that You see his suffering and are already at work in his body.
Lord, we ask for Your healing touch to flow through his urinary tract, cleansing every infection, restoring every cell, and bringing strength where there is weakness. We pray against the spread of this infection and ask that the antibiotics and treatments being administered would work powerfully in his body, guided by Your hand. Give wisdom to the doctors and nurses attending to him, that they may be instruments of Your healing grace.
We also lift up his spirit, Father. Hospital stays can be wearying, and we ask that You would comfort him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind him of Your presence, even in the midst of pain or discomfort. Surround him with Your love and let him feel the prayers of the saints rising on his behalf.
For you, dear sister in Christ, we pray for strength and endurance. This is a difficult time, but we know that God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Lean on Him, and allow others to support you as well. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
We also want to encourage you both to examine your hearts before the Lord. Are there any areas where sin may have taken root, whether in thought, word, or deed? James 5:16 tells us, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." We do not say this to bring guilt, but to invite the fullness of God’s healing power to flow. If there is unconfessed sin, bring it before the Lord in repentance, and trust in His mercy and forgiveness.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the gift of life and for the marriage covenant You have established between this husband and wife. Lord, we ask for complete healing for this dear brother. Touch his body, drive out every trace of infection, and restore him to full health. Strengthen his faith and fill him with Your peace as he endures this trial.
We also pray for his wife, that You would uphold her with Your righteous right hand. Give her patience, wisdom, and a deep sense of Your presence. Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, knowing that You care for her (1 Peter 5:7).
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or discouragement that may be trying to take hold in this situation. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, this brother is healed (Isaiah 53:5). We speak life, health, and wholeness over his body, and we thank You for the victory that is already ours in Christ Jesus.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We trust in You, Lord, and we thank You for Your faithfulness. Amen.
Hold fast to God’s promises, dear sister. The Lord is your shepherd, and He will not leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). We will continue to stand in faith with you for your husband’s complete healing. May God’s peace guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
