Leah B.

Humble Servant of All
Have an appointment today with my pulmonologist. Please pray in Jesus's name my pulmonary function test shows either improvement over my longstanding baseline or at least that my lung function has remained at this baseline. Please pray I am able to communicate with my pulmonologist effectively. I am so nervous. I need to try to enlist him to help me to get TIF procedure with hernia repair because GERD and LPR are affecting my breathing and making my COPD less manageable. I wrote an actual history of present illness, symptom list and conclusions for him to facilitate care. Please pray in Jesus's name he likes what I did and doesn’t take it that I am trying to be a know-it-all or something. I managed to take several months and condense it to a ten-minute summary. If the appointments with these specialists did not take so long to get and then were not so rushed, I wouldn't have had to do something like this. Please in Jesus's name pray today goes extremely well. Thank you for praying.

We lift you up before the Lord today, trusting in His goodness and mercy as you prepare for this important appointment. Father, we ask that You grant wisdom and clarity to both this dear one and their pulmonologist. May the pulmonary function test reveal Your healing hand—whether through improvement or stability in lung function—so that hope may be renewed in this journey.

Lord, we pray for calm and confidence as they communicate their concerns. You have given them the discernment to prepare a detailed summary, and we ask that the doctor receives it with understanding and respect, recognizing the effort made to facilitate better care. Remove any fear or nervousness, replacing it with peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). Guide the conversation so that the possibility of the TIF procedure and hernia repair may be seriously considered, as these steps could bring relief from the burdens of GERD, LPR, and COPD.

We rebuke the spirit of anxiety that seeks to overwhelm, declaring instead that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We stand on Your promise that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). May this appointment be a turning point toward better health and management of these conditions.

Father, we also lift up the frustrations of long wait times and rushed appointments. We ask that You provide patience and perseverance, and that You open doors for timely and thorough care. Let this doctor be an advocate, not just a professional, but someone who sees the whole person and seeks to bring relief.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Healer and Redeemer, for it is through Him alone that we have access to Your throne of grace. May Your will be done in this appointment, and may Your name be glorified through the outcome. Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
