For filling with the Holy Spirit

Shalom Could you please pray for me that God fills me with the Holy Spirit—from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet—that rivers of living water flow from within me, and that I do greater things than the Lord Jesus—because HE said so—in Jesus' name? Thank you very much! God bless you in Jesus' name!

We rejoice with you in this beautiful hunger for more of God and we join our faith with yours as you ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet.

The Word encourages us to ask for this very thing, for the Father delights to give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him. As it is written in Luke 11:13, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him, and in Ephesians 5:18 we are commanded, be filled with the Spirit. This is not a one time experience but a continual filling, a daily surrender and thirsting for Him.

We love your desire for rivers of living water to flow from within you, for Jesus Himself said in John 7:38-39, He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, from within him will flow rivers of living water. But he said this about the Spirit, which those believing in him were to receive. And we affirm your faith in what Jesus promised in John 14:12, Most certainly I tell you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, he will do also, and he will do greater works than these, because I am going to my Father. These greater works are not for our own glory but that the Father may be glorified in the Son, and that many may come to know salvation through the power of the Spirit working through us.

We encourage you to continue to abide in Christ, to walk in obedience and holiness, to confess and forsake any sin, and to present your body as a living sacrifice, for your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God as we read in 1 Corinthians 6:19. The filling of the Spirit is for power to be His witness as promised in Acts 1:8, you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be my witnesses, and for bearing the fruit of the Spirit in love, joy, peace and all godliness according to Galatians 5:22-23.

We pray together with you now in Jesus' name.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we thank You for this precious heart that hungers and thirsts for righteousness and for more of You. We ask that You fill our dear one completely with Your Holy Spirit, from the crown of the head to the soles of the feet, every part surrendered to You. Pour out Your Spirit upon him and cause rivers of living water to flow from his innermost being to bring life, healing and refreshment to many. Anoint him with power from on high, cleanse him and make him a vessel of honor, sanctified and useful for Your purposes. Empower him to walk in Your truth, to bear much fruit, to speak Your Word with boldness, and to do the works You have prepared for him, even greater works as Jesus promised, all for Your glory and for the drawing of souls to salvation in Jesus. Keep him abiding in Christ, filled and overflowing day by day, led and guided by Your Spirit in all things. We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We were so encouraged to read your prayer. That longing to be filled completely and to have Christ's life flow through you in a way that touches others is beautiful, and we are honored to join you in bringing it to the Lord.

We love how you put it, from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet. Being filled with the Spirit is not a one time moment but a daily, ongoing yielding to His presence and control. As we stay close to Jesus, He not only empowers us for service, He also gently shapes our character in love, peace and kindness so that what flows out of us reflects Him in both power and truth.

A simple way to keep pursuing this is to make room each day for a quiet surrender. In the morning, before the day gets busy, pause to ask the Lord to fill you afresh, to lead you and to make you sensitive to His nudges. Staying rooted in prayer, in His Word, and in fellowship with other believers helps keep that openness alive.

Father, we lift our friend to You with thanksgiving. Fill them anew with Your Holy Spirit today, from head to toe. Let Your living water flow from within and make them more and more like Jesus in heart and life. Guide their steps, use them as You will, and draw them ever closer to Yourself. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

May the Lord fill her with the Holy Spirit from head to toe, let rivers of living water flow from within her, and empower her to do even greater things for His glory, just as Jesus promised. In Jesus' name, Amen.

- *"Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them. By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive."* — John 7:38-39
- *"Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father."* — John 14:12
- *"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own."* — 1 Corinthians 6:19
- *"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."* — Romans 15:13

Your longing to be filled with the Holy Spirit from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet is a prayer which God delights to hear and to answer, for our Lord Himself has promised that the water which He shall give shall be in the believer a well of water springing up unto everlasting life.

We rejoice that you desire this living water, for the Holy Spirit must create in us a new heart and a right spirit and then dwell in our renewed nature as a king in his palace. Though our heart is by nature but a narrow cottage, yea a very hovel, yet He condescends to make the heart of His people His continual abode. When He so dwells, that water does not lie still, but becomes an operative force, full of freshness and life, and out of the believer flow rivers of living water, even the Spirit which those who believe in Jesus have received.

We join our hearts with yours and pray that the Lord would grant this filling according to His abundant grace. We ask the Father in Jesus name that He would fill you wholly and make you strong in the power of the Holy Spirit, who is not an influence but very God of very God. We pray that He would satisfy your cravings and fill your largest desires by daily enabling you to realize Jesus and God in Jesus, that the well within you may spring up and overflow to others, and that at the touch of that living water solitary places around you may be made to rejoice.

Concerning the greater works of which our Lord spoke when He said, greater works than these shall ye do because I go unto my Father, we pray that you may understand this aright. The Holy Spirit always keeps sweet company with Jesus Christ and His great work is to glorify Christ, for He shall receive of Mine and shall show it unto you. The greater works are not that any servant should be greater in power or glory than his Lord, but that through the Holy Spirit sent down at Pentecost the gospel should be spread more widely and souls gathered in greater number, and Christ Himself be magnified. So we pray that any work granted to your hands may not magnify yourself, but may magnify Christ, and that all doctrine and all service may be tried by this, does it glorify the Lord Jesus.

And we beseech you, as you seek this filling, to grieve not the Holy Spirit. He is grieved by unholiness of life and by unbelief, and when Christian men walk not according to the gospel His holy character is vexed. Seek to walk in holiness, for a holy man is the workmanship of the Holy Spirit, and where He maintains holiness He maintains peace and communion in the soul. Cry mightily unto God, for without the Holy Spirit there is no life and force and power, and with Him there is safe delight and holy delight and courage to stand as a witness for Christ. Pray in the Holy Spirit and through the Holy Spirit, for He will help your infirmities and teach you how to pray, and if you pray in His power your prayer must be prevalent with God.

May the Lord grant you to know that you have received the Holy Spirit, not as a matter of conjecture, but as a living reality known in the heart, and may you be kept from quenching Him, but give Him free course to speak and to sing within you. We pray that you may be filled with the Spirit and kept in entire dependence upon Him, that rivers of living water may indeed flow from within you to the refreshing of many, all to the glory of Christ our Saviour, in whose name we ask it. Amen.
