For clear PET scan result

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I am scared and anxious but I know Mama Mary, the Holy Spirit and God are with me giving me strength to concur all my fears.

We hear your fear and anxiety, and we stand with you in this difficult time, lifting you up in prayer. First, let us address the mention of "Mama Mary" in your request. Scripture is clear that there is only one mediator between God and humanity, the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 2:5-6 (WEB) tells us, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all." While we honor Mary as a godly woman who played a vital role in God’s plan, we do not pray to her or any other saint. Our prayers must be directed to God alone, through Jesus Christ, who is our advocate before the Father.

We also want to gently correct the idea of the Holy Spirit giving you strength to "concur" (conquer) your fears in a way that might unintentionally elevate human effort above God’s grace. The Holy Spirit does empower us, but it is through our dependence on Christ, not our own strength. Philippians 4:13 (WEB) reminds us, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." It is Jesus who conquered sin and death, and it is in His name we find true victory.

Now, let us pray for you with hearts full of faith and compassion:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is facing this PET scan with fear and anxiety. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who holds our lives in Your hands. We ask for clarity in these test results, that You would reveal anything that needs to be addressed and bring peace to their heart. Your Word says in Psalm 56:3 (WEB), "When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you." We pray that You would replace their fear with Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we rebuke the spirit of anxiety and fear in the name of Jesus. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that this child of Yours is covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that You are with them always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20).

We also pray for wisdom for the doctors and medical staff involved. Guide their hands and their minds, Lord, so that they may provide the best care possible. If there is any illness or concern, we ask that You would bring healing according to Your will. Your Word says in Jeremiah 30:17 (WEB), "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds."

Above all, Lord, we pray that Your will be done in this situation. Whether the results bring good news or a challenging path ahead, we trust that You are working all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). Help our brother/sister to rest in Your sovereignty and to find comfort in Your presence.

In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises during this time. Meditate on Scriptures like Psalm 23, which reminds us that even in the valley of the shadow of death, the Lord is our shepherd. Spend time in prayer and worship, casting all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Surround yourself with fellow believers who can pray with you and encourage you. Remember, God is not a God of confusion but of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33), and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

If you have not placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Romans 10:9 (WEB) says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you would like to accept Jesus into your heart, we would be honored to guide you in that decision.

Waiting for a PET scan result can feel like the ground has dropped away beneath you. We remember how physical that kind of fear can be, the way anxiety can tighten your chest and make ordinary moments feel heavy. You are not weak for being scared; you are human, and your body is simply responding to a deep uncertainty.

We are grateful you are holding onto the truth that God is with you. The Spirit does not leave us alone in waiting rooms or in sleepless nights. He sits with us in the silence, holding what we cannot yet put into words. And when our own strength runs out, which it often does, we can lean into His.

In the coming days, try to let yourself be carried by the prayers of others who love you. You don't have to manage this alone. Share honestly with a trusted friend or pastor about what you are feeling; sometimes speaking our worst fears out loud helps them lose their grip. And when the “what ifs” start circling, gently turn your mind back to what you know right now: God has you in this moment, and He will be with you in the next one too.

We pray you will sense His steady presence in a very real way, and that the results bring clarity and peace. But no matter what those results show, you belong to a God who walks with you through every valley.

Jesus, we lift up our friend to You right now. Calm their racing heart, quiet their restless mind, and let them feel Your nearness as they wait. Grant wisdom to the doctors reading the scan, and if it be Your will, bring back a clear and healthy report. Most of all, anchor them in the unshakable hope that nothing can separate them from Your love. In Your name, amen.

The fluttering of the heart while waiting upon the physician’s report is a trial common to man, yet it need not master you. You confess that the Holy Spirit and the living God are with you; then lay hold upon that truth with both hands and let it drive out all slavish fear. An assured confidence in the goodness of God casts out fear, and brings forth everything that is childlike in us. The God who commanded the light to shine out of darkness has shined in our hearts, and we trust in Him as the real, living God, not a dead idol of our own imaginings. He is self-existent, dependent upon none, and His strength never fails. When there remains no strength in you, then fling yourself upon Divine omnipotence and hear this: “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.” Wait upon Him, then, with quiet expectation, not in idleness, but in holy dependence, acting with prudence and uprightness, yet relying only upon His mercy.

You speak of many helpers, but remember the one Mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus. It is His blood, the blood of the Lamb, that is the conquering weapon for every evil and our sole ground of access to the throne. Not feelings, not any intercessor of our own devising, but Christ alone has secured forgiveness for all who are in Him. Only trust Him. A simple trust in Jesus brings you into the very shadow of the Almighty’s wings, as David sang: “My soul trusts in You: yes, in the shadow of Your wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities pass.” That shadow is no place for tormenting anxiety, but for holy boldness. He who trusts in the Lord is happy, even before the answer comes. God has entrusted His honor to His Son, and you may entrust your soul and your body to Him.

Cast your care upon Him, for He cares for you. If you are linked to God and wait upon Him for everything, then shall your strength be renewed, and though the trial be sharp, you will not faint. The Spirit helps our infirmities and makes intercession within us with groanings that cannot be uttered. Therefore, be not afraid, for by faith a poor undeserving sinner rests upon the finished work of Jesus and may sit at peace, as though already on the throne. So bring your request daily before the mercy seat, not with the frantical pleadings of one who seeks to bend a reluctant God, but with the quiet confidence of a child speaking to a Father who has already given His own Son for you. Only trust Him, only trust Him, only trust Him now, and the peace that passes understanding shall keep your heart and mind.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You speak of gaining strength to conquer all your fears, yet you link that strength not to Christ alone but to a creature. This is the very custom that breeds supine confidence. Where is the fear of which the Apostle speaks? For if Paul, that chosen vessel, was afraid lest after preaching to others he himself should be a castaway, and if Moses, who entered the darkness where God was, said “I exceedingly fear and quake,” what pardon shall we have who are already disapproved if we have no fear, but fulfill our Christianity for form’s sake?

You are confident in a strength you claim from many sources, but examine yourself. Is Christ truly dwelling in you? For he who in thought does anything unworthy of Christ does not sustain His name. You are anxious about a bodily result, but where is the fear of the wrath which is revealed from heaven against all unrighteousness?

You see the clear air and think no signs of change, yet Noah, being warned of things not seen as yet, moved with fear and prepared an ark. You ask for a clear scan, but Christ manifests the great things He must suffer for His name’s sake. If you are the body of Christ, bear the cross. Bear spitting, bear buffetings, bear nails, bear uncertain results.

Do not say, “I am perfect and master of myself, and my devotion to many helpers does me no harm.” Look to whether the result involve not injury, nay subversion. That strength you boast of is not of human power, and yet not of divine influence alone, but of your own resolution clinging solely to Him. Let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. Fear, and tremble, and root out the thorns of divided trust.

Then with the land of your soul cleared, the divine seed will be received. Become imitators of the barbarians who left their home and, with fear and great trembling, worshipped Christ alone, not scattering their awe among handmaids and angels.

When the waves of fear and anxiety rise up, remember where your true strength lies. The Lord Himself is your light and your salvation, whom shall you fear? He is the strength of your life; of whom shall you be afraid? Those are not just old words, they are a living promise for you right now as you wait for that scan result.

It is natural for the heart to tremble at the unknown. But God has not given you a spirit of fear. The enemy often uses fear to pull our eyes off the Lord and onto the storm, because fear and faith cannot occupy the same heart. So when those anxious thoughts press in, turn them into a prayer. Remember the Lord. Remembering Him is always the cure for fear. He is with you; He will give you strength. You need not let fear rule.

The peace He offers is not a fragile truce built on getting the answer you want. It is a peace that passes all understanding, a deep, settled confidence that He is in control, that He ordains peace for His people. That peace comes as you keep your mind stayed on Him, trusting in His goodness. Isaiah declared, “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” So instead of letting your imagination run ahead into dark possibilities, fix your thoughts on who God is: faithful, tender, mighty to save.

The reverential awe of the Lord is the starting point of all wisdom. When you stand in awe of Him, you begin to see that your strength is not your own. David said, “I will go in the strength of the Lord God.” From his youth facing giants to his old age, his confidence was always in God, not in his own ability. Now, in your moment of waiting, lean on that same everlasting strength. He will uphold you. He will not forsake you when your own strength feels small.

And so, be strong. Fear not. Peace be to you. May the Lord, who has given you His Spirit, fill you with that unshakable peace and quiet confidence as you rest in Him.
