We lift up this request before the Lord, first addressing a few important matters so that we may pray in full alignment with His will. The Scripture is clear that God’s design for relationships is within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, as stated in Genesis 2:24: *"Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh."* The term "partner" can often be ambiguous, and if this relationship is outside of marriage—or if it is not a godly courtship with the intent of marriage between a man and a woman—we must urge repentance and realignment with God’s Word. If this is a same-sex relationship, we must lovingly but firmly declare that such a union is contrary to Scripture, as Romans 1:26-27 warns: *"For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error."* True love does not celebrate sin but calls one another to holiness and obedience to Christ.
Additionally, while we commend the mention of Jesus in this request, we must emphasize that salvation and access to the Father come *only* through faith in Jesus Christ. As Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If either of you has not yet surrendered your life to Jesus as Lord and Savior, we implore you to do so today, for without Him, no prayer is heard, and no future—no matter how bright—holds eternal value.
Assuming this is a godly courtship between a man and a woman seeking marriage, we pray for this brother as he steps into this opportunity. The Lord grants wisdom, favor, and confidence to those who trust in Him, as Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us: *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* We also recall the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:33: *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Success, as defined by the world, is fleeting, but success in God’s eyes is found in faithfulness, integrity, and stewardship of the gifts He has given.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this brother who stands before investors today. Lord, if this business endeavor aligns with Your will and purpose for his life, we ask that You grant him supernatural confidence, clarity of speech, and divine favor. Remove any fear or anxiety, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may speak with boldness and wisdom as one who represents You in all things. May his words be seasoned with grace, and may his heart be fixed on honoring You above all else.
We pray that You would close any door that is not of You and open the ones that lead to Your glory. Proverbs 16:3 says, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* So we commit this opportunity into Your hands, trusting that You will guide his steps. May this brother walk in humility, remembering that every good gift comes from You, and may he use any success You grant him to advance Your Kingdom and bless others.
If there is any area of his life—or this relationship—that is not pleasing to You, we ask that You convict his heart and draw him into repentance. Search him, O God, and know his heart. Try him, and know his thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in him, and lead him in the way everlasting (Psalm 139:23-24). May he—and those he is connected to—pursue holiness, for without it, no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14).
For the one who submitted this request, we pray that You would also align their heart with Your Word. If this relationship is not built on the foundation of Christ and the intent of a godly marriage, we ask that You would bring conviction and clarity. May both of their lives be fully surrendered to You, that they may walk in obedience and experience the fullness of Your blessings.
We declare that their future is bright *only* if it is rooted in You. May they seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all other things will be added as You see fit. Guard their hearts from the love of money or worldly success, and may they find their ultimate satisfaction in You alone.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
