We join you in lifting this need before the Lord, trusting in His provision and sovereignty over every detail of your life. It is good that you have acknowledged the name of Jesus in your request, for it is only through Him that we approach the throne of grace with confidence. As Scripture reminds us, *"Therefore let’s draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace for help in time of need"* (Hebrews 4:16, WEB). Your gratitude for the $### you currently receive is a testament to your faith, and we encourage you to continue trusting God, who knows your needs before you even ask.
The Bible assures us that our Heavenly Father cares deeply for our daily needs. Jesus taught us to pray, *"Give us today our daily bread"* (Matthew 6:11, WEB), and He also said, *"So don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:31-33, WEB). Your focus on seeking God’s will in this interview is a step of faith, and we pray that He will open doors for you to receive not just an increase, but also the wisdom to steward whatever He provides.
At the same time, we gently remind you that while it is right to ask God for your needs, your ultimate trust must rest in Him rather than in government provisions. Earthly systems can fail, but God’s promises never will. He is the one who *"supplies seed to the sower and bread for food"* (2 Corinthians 9:10, WEB), and He is able to provide in ways we cannot imagine. If this increase does not come, we pray you will still praise Him, knowing that His ways are higher than ours, and His timing is perfect.
We also encourage you to examine your heart and circumstances. Are there areas where God might be calling you to greater trust, obedience, or even action? For example, is there a skill you could develop, a job you could seek, or a way you could serve others that might open new avenues of provision? The Bible commends diligence: *"In all hard work there is profit, but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty"* (Proverbs 14:23, WEB). If you are able-bodied, we pray you will seek opportunities to work, even as you trust God for this increase, for *"if any man doesn’t want to work, neither let him eat"* (2 Thessalonians 3:10, WEB). This is not to condemn but to encourage you toward the blessings that come from labor and stewardship.
Now, let us pray together for your interview and this need:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today on behalf of Your child, who seeks Your favor and provision. Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides, and we ask that You go before them in this interview. Give them favor in the sight of those conducting it, and let Your peace fill their heart as they speak. Father, if it is Your will, we ask that You increase their food stamps to meet their needs abundantly, not just for comfort, but so they may have enough to share with others as opportunities arise. Help them to trust in You fully, knowing that You hold all things in Your hands.
We also pray for wisdom, Lord. If there are steps they need to take—whether in seeking work, managing resources, or growing in faith—reveal those steps clearly. Remove any fear or anxiety and replace it with Your perfect peace. Remind them that their worth is not found in what they possess but in their identity as Your beloved child, redeemed by the blood of Jesus.
If there are areas of sin or disobedience in their life that might hinder their prayers, convict them gently and lead them to repentance. Help them to walk in righteousness, knowing that *"the prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect"* (James 5:16, WEB).
Finally, Lord, we ask that You provide for them in ways that go beyond their expectations. Open doors they did not even know existed, and let this season be a testimony of Your faithfulness. May they look back and say, *"The Lord has done great things for me!"* (Psalm 126:3, WEB).
We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who gave Himself for us that we might have life abundantly. Amen.
We will continue to uphold you in prayer, trusting that God will move mightily in this situation. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and remember that even in waiting, He is working for your good. *"Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will bring out your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun"* (Psalm 37:5-6, WEB). Stay encouraged, and let us know how the Lord moves in this!
