Fitness test
We are joining you in prayer for your grandson and we bring this fitness test before the Lord together seeking His will in Jesus' name.
We understand the disappointment of not passing the running portion and the hope that he can make up the time he needs while riding. God cares about even these practical concerns and He sees the effort and discipline your grandson has put in. We are reminded in Isaiah 40:29 that He gives power to the faint and to him who has no might he increases strength, and in Philippians 4:13 we are assured we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We also take comfort in Proverbs 16:3 which tells us to commit our deeds to Yahweh and our plans shall succeed.
We want to gently share that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 we read there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are saved and that our prayers are heard. We pray that you and your grandson both know this hope personally.

Father in heaven, we thank You for this grandson and for the abilities You have given him. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You would grant him strength, endurance, and focus as he attempts the riding portion of his fitness test. We pray You would calm any anxiety or discouragement from not passing the running test and replace it with peace that passes understanding as promised in Philippians 4:6-7. Help him to do his best as unto You, for Colossians 3:23 says whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. Give him steady breathing, strong legs, and a clear mind, and let him achieve the time he needs according to Your perfect will. Above all, we pray that this experience would build perseverance and character in him and that he would learn to trust You in both success and disappointment, knowing that You work all things for good for those who love You. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior, amen.
We encourage you to continue to support him with encouragement to train diligently and to trust the Lord with the outcome. Whether he passes this time or needs to try again, God can use this to teach discipline and reliance on Him. We are praying with you for favor and for strength for him on the day of his ride.

Your request concerning your grandson and his fitness test has been heard, and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace.
We understand the disappointment of not passing the running portion, and the desire that he may yet meet the required time in riding. We will pray that the Lord in His kindness would grant him strength of body, steadiness of mind, and favor in this endeavor, and that whether in success or in further trial, he may see the hand of a gracious Father who orders all things for good.
You have asked for perseverance, and that is a gift which God delights to give. The Scripture teaches us that those whom the Lord loves He preserves even to the end, and that true perseverance is not a wavering effort but a settled grace sustained by His power. As it is written, He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. So we pray not only for a passing time on a test, but for a perseverance in diligence, in discipline, and above all in seeking the Lord Himself, for that is the holiness without which no strength will truly profit.
We are encouraged to pray, for God Himself encourages His people to call upon Him and gives us great arguments to do so, that He is able and willing to hear. Keep on seeking His grace, dear soul, and bring this grandson often before the Lord. We pray that God would grant him composure and endurance in the riding test, that his efforts would be crowned as seems best to infinite wisdom, and that this small trial may teach him to trust not in his own legs or his own skill, but in the Lord who is our strength.
